Alpha and Omega

The boys and Michelle reached Val’s house and went inside for clues on Matt’s whereabouts. Johnny checked the file cabinets for any papers, Jimmy checked the closets for any skeletons, Zacky checked the computer for any files, and Brian and Michelle checked the bedroom for anything else. “I got nothing,” said Johnny to Zacky who was in the same room. “I’m not getting anything either,” said Zacky, “Probably smart though… you can never get rid of evidence on a computer, even if you think it’s deleted.” Then Jimmy walked into the make-shift office. “Anything?” Johnny asked. “She hides her skeletons quite well,” Jimmy answered, “Let’s go check Bri and Michelle.”
Brian was looking under the bed as Michelle went through all the drawers. Brian stood back up just as the others came in. Brian shook his head sadly. Jimmy made a frowning smirk then turned his head towards Michelle, “Anything?” “Nothing,” Michelle answered. Brian walked around the room with his head hung down. He sighed, “I wish we could find something… I would fine with one little clue.” Just then a creak came from the floor board under Brian’s shoe. “You think your wish might have come true?” Jimmy asked. “One way to find out,” Brian answered as he knelt down. He tried getting his fingers under the board. Even though the board was nailed, Brian kept digging. He soon got frustrated. “Dammit!” Brian yelled as he punched at the board, tears at the corners of his eyes. Zacky knelt down next to Brian, “I know you’re angry, but finding Matt means we have to stay calm and… what this?”
Zacky put a hand through the hole and pulled out a small pocketbook. “What is it?” Brian asked as he wiped away the tears. Zacky opened the book, looked for a minute, and smiled, “Your wish.” Brian looked at Zacky with shock, “Really?” “Yeah,” said Zacky, “There are names in here too.” “So where should we start?” asked Jimmy. “Well,” said Zacky, “The first name on the list is… Jonah McCudden… and there’s a place that we can find him.” “Well then let’s find this Jonah person,” said Johnny. Brian stood up to see Zacky still had his nose in the book. “Zacky… everything okay?” Brian asked as he squat down. Zacky showed the page he was on and pointed to a name… Ricki Nobel. Brian looked back at Zacky who still stared at the name. “Remember,” Brian whispered, “He’s gone now… he can’t hurt you.” Zacky nodded then turned his face Brian, “Let’s find this Jonah guy.”
