He blushed then smiled, “Sorry… I’ll get new sheets.” Matt climbed out of the bed and into the bathroom to clean up. Brian took the sheets to the washer and grabbed clean ones from the linen closet.
Brian came back and began putting the sheets on the bed. “Before I forget again,” Matt said as he entered the bedroom, “I’ve been wanting to give you something.” “Oh?” Brian asked, continuing to make the bed. He put the pillows back on the bed, when a pair of hands slid under his arms. One hand had a red box with green ribbon tied up in a bow. “That looks like Christmas wrapping,” said Brian, “Christmas was a while ago.” “Yeah,” replied Matt, “But I was sleeping and I wanna make up for it. I know I missed Valentine’s Day too. I even got you a present for that… and I still need to give Jimmy his birthday present.” Brian smiled as he took the box out of Matt’s hand. “You’re so giving,” said Brian. “I just like making people happy,” said Matt. He rested his hands on Brian’s hips and placed his chin on Brian’s shoulder so he could watch Brian open his present.
Brian pulled on a strand of the bow, which unrevealed with little effort. “So what is it?” Brian asked, “Guitar picks?” “Just open it,” Matt answered. Brian slipped his thumb under a corner of the wrapping. The flap opened and Brian slipped his fingers in and pulled out a velvet box from the wrapping. Matt smiled, he absolutely could not wait to see Brian’s reaction. Brian opened the box and let out a loud gasp.
It was a simple bronze colored ring but it shined more beautiful, in the moonlight, than any diamond could ever shine. “I didn’t know what your opinion was on jewelry,” said Matt, “but it’s a promise ring. I hope that’s okay.” “Oh my god Mattie,” Brian said in awe. “You like it?” Matt asked. “I love it,” Brian answered. Matt took the ring from Brian and helped slipping onto Brian’s left ring finger. Brian turned around to face Matt. “Merry late Christmas Bri,” said Matt. He leaned in to give Brian a deep, passionate kiss.

“I love you Bri.”
