Alpha and Omega

A hand went for a back hand slap across Brian’s face, making Brian step back. “How could you?” “Val wait… what are talking about?” said Brian. Val kicked Brian in the groin, making Brian bend over. Then Val kicked Brian in his face, making Brian fall behind on his back. “Val stop!” Brian hollered. “You took my man,” Val said as she got on top of Brian. “You’re gonna pay!” Val started swinging her fists at Brian, hitting him all over his body. Brian just covered his head with his arms. He never thought it was right to hit a woman.
“You left him,” said Brian, “He’s not yours anymore.” Val stood up, “How dare you!” Val slammed her foot in Brian’s stomach. She kept kicking him even passed the point of him spitting up blood. “Val stop please,” Brian begged. “No!” she growled, “Not until you pay.” She kicked him in the side, making him spit up more blood. Then another kick was about to happen until she was stopped. Brian looked up to see Matt holding her arms to prevent her from harming Brian anymore. “Let me go!” said Val as she tried squirming out of Matt’s grasp. “No,” said Matt. He pushed Val away from Brian and stepped between the two, facing Val.
“Val what is wrong with you?” Matt asked. “Matt,” said Val, “I’ve come to get you back.” “After you called me a freak?” asked Matt, “After you would torture me day and night? After you just tried to beat the shit out of my boyfriend?” “You’re not meant to be with him,” said Val, “You’re supposed to be with me.” “No,” Matt said as he shook his head, “You had your chance and you blew it. Don’t you ever come here again… and if you hurt Brian again… I won’t be so nice.” Tears filled Val’s eyes, “But Matt.” “Go,” Matt said firmly. “Fine!” Val yelled before stomping out of the house and slamming the door. Matt watched from a window to make sure that Val had left. Matt grabbed the dish rag from the kitchen sink and ran it through warm water.
Matt bent down and began wiping the blood off Brian’s face. “Baby!” Matt called out, “Brian! Baby, are you okay?” Brian sat up, “I’m okay.” Matt wiped the blood off the floor and tossed the rag back into the sink. Matt sat down by Brian, wrapped his arms around Brian, and pulled him close. “I’m sorry Brian,” said Matt, his voice breaking. Tears filled Matt’s eyes as he held Brian tighter. Brian wrapped his arms around Matt’s waist loosely. “Please don’t cry Mattie,” said Brian, his voice was weak, “It’s not your fault.” “But I should’ve came sooner,” said Matt, “I can’t believe she came over and did this to you.”
“Hey Mattie?” Brian asked. “Yeah baby?” Matt asked. “Am I really your boyfriend?” Brian asked. “Well I thought we were,” said Matt, “since we said ‘I love you’ and whatnot.” “Oh okay,” said Brian. “Do you wanna be my boyfriend?” asked Matt. “What about Val?” asked Brian. “Don’t worry about Val,” said Matt, “I won’t let her get to in the way ever again. I want to be with you Brian.” “Then be with me,” said Brian. Matt lifted Brian’s chin so he could kiss him. “Then you’re my boyfriend,” said Matt. Brian smiled from ear to ear, “I like that.”
Matt stood up and helped Brian to his feet. “I’m taking you to the hospital,” said Matt. “Mattie I’m fine,” Brian whined. “Brian please,” Matt begged, “For me.” “Okay,” said Brian, “I’ll go.”

Brian got all patched up. Val didn’t do any major damage, but Brian was told to take it easy. “At least it’s only a few days of rest,” said Matt as he drove Brian home. “I’m just glad I didn’t lose any of my nuts,” Brian said, he was laying in the backseat. Matt laughed at Brian’s comment. “So does that mean no sex for a while?” asked Brian. “It’s probably best,” said Matt. “Awww,” Brian whined.
Matt arrived at Brian’s house. “Now get your butt in bed mister,” said Matt. “Where are you going?” Brian asked. “I was gonna go home,” Matt answered. “Oh,” said Brian, sounding sad. “What?” asked Matt. “Nothing,” said Brian, “I kinda forgot you have a house.” Matt chuckled and kissed Brian on the forehead. “I’ll be checking on you,” said Matt, “So get some rest.” “I will,” said Brian.
Brian entered his home and went to bed like Matt wanted him too. Even when snuggled in warm fuzzy blankets, Brian felt cold. He turned on the tv for some background noise, but it didn’t help much. “I wish this was your home too Mattie,” Brian said to himself.

Matt went back home to realize how bad it reeked of Val. Not just her smell, but random clothes she forgot, a few pictures of her… even the bed reminded Matt of her. It made his stomach clench. He was walking through the hallway when a picture hanging on the wall caught Matt’s eye. It was a picture of him and Brian from one of their fishing trips. They were each holding a large fish in their hands. Matt remembers that day like it was yesterday. He smiled at the memory. “I miss him already,” Matt said quietly to himself.
Matt couldn’t take it, he rushed to his phone and called up Brian. One ring, two rings, click, “Mattie?”
“Brian I miss you,” Matt blurted, “I don’t wanna be here. I wanna be with you. I wanna move in with you.” “Really?” Brian asked with cheerfulness in his voice. “Yes,” Matt answered. “I miss you too Mattie,” said Brian, “I miss you tons. Pack your stuff and come home.” “I’ll be there tonight,” Matt said, “But mister you better be in that bed getting your rest.”
