The Middle

*Zacky’s P.O.V.*

I used the back door to get out of this bar. Actually I thought that Brian would follow me when I showed him I was pissed off, which I wasn’t for real. As in fact I knew that I was probably going to lose, so I didn’t really wanted to start one big drama about it.
Until he would finally get here I wanted to smoke a cigarette, enjoying a warm midsummers evening that finally went like I imagined it. No Sarah that tried to destroy it by storming into my house. She was really one crazy girl that I only tolerated. If I should be honest I really never liked her nor did I understand why Brian liked her. She might be pretty, but that wouldn’t replace her stupidity and jealousy.

It had a good reason why I had never told him about my little catch-up with her before they got engaged. She was really a monster that controlled him and has been jealousy at every potential girl around him. I’m glad that she wasn’t here tonight to avoid her fiancé flirting with that waitress. Roxy was some eye-candy, no doubt but when he thought that she was my type then he was wrong. She was the complete opposite of what I liked about a girl. Sure Brian cared about me and wanted to see me happy with a girl as well, but unfortunately I was happy being single. No one that told me what I should do or explaining that my fans were just my fans. Of course it would have been nice to wake up next to a person you love, but I’ve had my dogs that were sleeping in my bedroom as well, not on the bed with me, but on the floor.

Suddenly I heard someone coming outside. In case it might be Brian I was hiding around the corner waiting for my moment to scare him to death. Either Brian was now able to imitate a girl’s voice or it was someone else that came outside as well. I tried to have a sneak peek and saw Roxy dialling a number on her phone.

“Sarah, you really don’t believe who just came back” I heard Roxy saying.

Sarah?! Did she really just say the name of Brian’s fiancé? It could be coincidence also. That name wasn’t really rare here and she didn’t even mentioned Brian’s name yet.

“Yeah he is here with his friend, I forgot his name already” […] “Yes the one with the forever tattoo on his neck”

Well that narrowed down the possibilities in this bar. She surely was talking about Brian and me now, but I couldn’t believe that she was actually talking to his fiancé.

“He is like a real teenager. Brian might think I don’t notice it when he stares at me but I just do. I got him where I want him” […] “Well, I guess he will be in my bed chambers by tomorrow. You know that every men cheats on their women” […] “As agreed I will give you a sign and you just do the rest.”

My hands were clenched in fists of rage and just would have punched her straight into her face. But too many witnesses and kids around that shouldn’t watch me hitting her. I tried to push the anger away. For one second I thought she was a little bit different than his fiancé. She seemed sweet at the bar, giving us a lot of her attention and just brought him a few drinks last night. So this all was part of the plan to make him look as a cheater?! The main thing was that Sarah looked good in this whole story and everyone was caring about her than about Brian that was the real victim in my opinion.

At least now it was a good part that Brian wasn’t here to hear all of this. I would make sure that he wouldn’t accept her invite since I was the one that should date her.
But all of the sudden my nose started to tickle. Zee, that wouldn’t be a good moment to sneeze right now. I hold my nose just to prevent to sneeze out loud but impossible. I couldn’t hold it back anymore and a loud sneeze was audible. Perfect done Mr. Vengeance. Roxy knew now exactly that someone was here and as soon as she finds out who she would kill me only to prevent that I leaked out all the information I knew.

“Hi Roxy” I said and pulled my cigarette out of my pocket as fast as I could.

“What are you doing here?”

I have a cigarette in my hand. Well now count one and one together what I was about to do. Besides listening to your really interesting call.

“Smoking a cigarette” I pointed at the cigarette in my hand.

“How long have you been here already?”

She really seemed nervous and I really wondered why. It might could be about my best friend Brian, but that was just a good guess.

“I just came here” I tried to look confused.

“Well …” she gasped “Can I have one as well? I forgot my package at home and I don’t have too much change here to get one at the cigarette automat.”

You are working in a bar, Roxy, just in case I really had to remind you that bars always had enough change. I wasn’t really sure if she wasn’t good in making stories up or only plain stupid to think I would really buy that. Ok she seemed to believe me as well when I said that I just came here. Well that was one point for me and of course Mr. Gates wasn’t here to see this.
So I light up her cigarette then as well and stood by her side without saying anything.

“You guys are in a band?” she seemed curious all of the sudden.

“Well we both are making music, but in two different bands. You know life doesn’t always play with your rules” I answered in a nice way.

I really didn’t want to tell her too much. Why should she know all the stuff anyway?! Though I really had to control myself. I put a mask on several occasions but this was one hard challenge when a sweet young girl was just using your best friend for a revenge. That was disgusting.

“Cool. You really should come here tomorrow.”

“Why?” I wondered if that was just another part of her damn plan.

“Karaoke night. It would be really funny to hear you both singing.”

“We are guitarists and no lead singers or something like that. So I think Brian will reject as well.”

Brian … Of course. I nearly forgot him when I heard a door slamming and looked at him standing there angry. Why has he been angry?! Did he just find out about their evil plan by himself or what was the matter that he seemed so angry at me all of the sudden?!
