Jennifers POV

I walked back through to the kitchen to wash my dinner plate, and noticed my phone lit up on the sideboard. Once I'd checked it I realised I'd been on the line with Renee for an hour. Lucky for me I had free calls.

"Renee? You there? I'm gonna hang up now"

"I love you too Brian," I heard. I was a little uneasy about her 'in love' with some random guy I hadn't met yet. '"Once she gets her head around it, she'll support us both" I put her on speaker and placed my phone gently next to me while I washed the dishes. If she was talking about me I deserved to know what it was about. "Don't be stupid, of course she won't disown me you dick" This was confusing me, and shocking me - I'd never heard her swear before.

Renee and this guy blabbed on for another 5 minutes until I finally heard the mystery guy's voice. It was more of a laugh.

"I know that laugh," I smiled oddly to myself, scrubbing away at the pan.

Then it hit me.
