Getting to know a little about you
Jimmy's POV
I came back in the room with Matt and Zacky to find her looking in a mirror. She didn't look too happy with what she was seeing...not that I could blame her. I looked at Matt and Zacky and they had looks on their faces like they'd just seen Hannibal Lecter bite the guards face for Christ's sake. What the hell was the matter with them? I elbowed them in the stomach and gave them a death glare. I hoped against hope that she didn't see that! They recovered and Matt asked, "So Anne how are you feeling?" Fucking dumbass!! How the hell did he think she was feeling? She just had the shit kicked out of her and was almost raped for fucks sake! Her sisters were saying good night to her so I tried to stand unobtrusively in the background. So much for that...they came over and hugged me and thanked me again. Then they did the same thing to Matt and Zacky who looked taken off guard by the sudden display of emotion. I said that I'd walk them out and get the other guys myself. We chatted along the way and when we got to the waiting room they hugged Brian, Johnny, Dan, and Jason and Matt Berry who all looked shocked by the sudden acceptance and hugs but recovered well. I decided that all of us were going back at the same time since I didn't know when they'd be taking her upstairs. I motioned for the five of them to follow me and off we went back to her room.
Anne's POV
Poor Zacky and Matt. Blue eyes jabbed them in the stomach and gave them death stares. Then Matt asked how I was feeling and Jimmy gave him a look like he was a dumbass!! My sisters said good night and blue eyes said he was going to walk them out. So there I was with Matt and Zacky and they seemed uncomfortable. I started talking about sports and if they liked baseball and who their favorite team was. It seemed like a safe subject. They seized the opportunity like it was a glass of water after crawling through the desert. Zacky liked the Los Angeles Angels and showed me his tattoo behind his left ear. Zacky also plays golf and enjoys spending time with his two dogs. Matt told me of his love for the LA Lakers and how he attends their home games whenever he possibly can. Matt also shared that he is an avid golfer, is addicted to video games and likes to fish. It was nice getting to know a little about the guys who saved me I must admit. However, you've never seen two more ecstatic faces then theirs when Jimmy came walking back in with all 5 guys in tow. I just shook my head at the impish grin on his face.
"What? he said, I have no idea how soon they're moving you and everyone wanted to see you."
"Nothing. I said, just remember to keep it down to a low roar."
"Oh yeah...the other patients. I forgot." he said.
"Fuck the other patients I said, my head hurts!! Now are you going to finally introduce me to your bodyguards properly blue eyes?"
He just laughed and ran his right hand across the back of his neck. Why did I find that move so sexy?
Just then Brian piped up and said, "God you look like hell girl!!"
"Thanks pretty boy. I feel like hell too." I said.
"I guess it's a good thing we got there when we did. Shame we didn't get there sooner though. Sorry about that." he said looking chagrined.
"I owe you guys my life. Thank you all for what you did tonight. Most people would have looked the other way and kept on walking. You eight gentlemen stand out among others. I'm truly glad that you walked into my bar and my life tonight. You have no idea how glad I am. I said looking at each and every one of them. If it hadn't been for you I would've been raped who knows how many times and I'm sure his friends would've gotten in on the action. So thank you again. You saved me. You gave me a narrow escape from a horrible outcome."
"Aww you don't have to thank us. It was our pleasure to help out." Johnny said.
"So you don't know Dan, Matt and Jason Berry very well huh? Well you only served them once. These are our designated keep us out of trouble and driver guys." blue eyes said.
"Speaking of keeping you out of trouble, Jason said, Larry is going ape shit over the fact that we're not back at the hotel yet. I think it's time to wrap things up here Jimbo.
"Not that I want to add to whoever Larry is going ape shit but can I talk to Jimmy alone please?" I said.
They all nodded and said they'd wait for him out in the waiting room. They all wished me well and a speedy recovery and they were gone. It was just me and blue eyes left in the room. God but he was gorgeous. What I wouldn't give to kiss him right now. But he wouldn't want a hideous looking monster like me right now. All he was feeling was pity for the poor little victim of the vicious attack. I looked him in the eyes anyway and was surprised to find kindness and compassion there instead of pity, regret and remorse. I tried my best to smile...I think my eyes showed it even if my mouth was incapable. He smiled back...one of the most beautiful smiles I have ever seen.
"So you have to go now blue eyes. I know I'll probably never see you again so thank you once more for all you've done." I said to him.
"Now don't talk crazy. I'll be back later today to check in on you after sound check."
"Sound check?"
"Yeah sound check. Ya know after we test the mics and the instruments for proper sound through the venue."
"Oh God you mean you're in a band?"
"Well yeah what did you think we did?"
"I don't know I guess I thought maybe you were like the other groups of out of towners who come in who are building the new housing developments around here. A band never crossed my mind."
"Well we're in a band. Can you guess what I do?"
"Hmmm...given the way you're always banging on everything I'd say you're the drummer."
"You'd be right." he grinned broadly.
"Excuse me Ms. McGuire. I'm here to take you upstairs to your room. If you'd like to follow along sir you're more than welcome to."
"Okay Jimmy said. Just so I know where they're stashing you so I can find you later." he said with a wink.
"Okay well let's make sure we have all your belongings and we'll be off." the transportation orderly said.
On the way up I said to Jimmy, "Well blue eyes you're going to have to tell me more about this band you're in. I'm guessing that you're leaving later tonight after the show is over huh?"
"No we're in town for one more day after the show and then we go to Wilkes-Barre and on to Pittsburgh after that." he said.
"Oh lots of stops in Pennsylvania then huh...not just Philly."
"Well technically we're playing in Camden tonight so...yeah a few more stops in PA."
"It's a shame I'll be stuck here for your show. I'd have liked to see you perform. I'm sure you're great."
"Well who knows...maybe you'll get your wish after all. If not in Camden then somewhere else in Pa? You never can tell."
"Well here we are folks. Room 413 bed 1...a nice window view. Your nurse will be in shortly. Have a good night.
"Thank you." we both said.
"Well you'd better get going. I said to him. I don't want your friends to get worried or Larry to have a shit fit or anything. Thanks for staying with me blue eyes. It means a lot."
He leaned over and kissed me on the forehead and then the cheek and said, "There's no where else I'd rather have been beautiful. You get some rest and I'll see you later this afternoon. Good night, sweet dreams."
I smiled as best I could and said, "Thank you again. Good night blue eyes. You sleep well too and have sweet dreams. Have a kick ass sound check and I soo look forward to seeing you tomorrow afternoon but I'll understand if you're too busy."
The nurse came in then and said, "Hello Ms McGuire." I have your morphine drip here and your liquid ibuprofen, as well as your night time meds."
The nurse turned to him and said, "Once the morphine gets in her system she'll sleep like a baby don't worry. We'll take good care of her."
"I'll get out of here now but don't worry...I'll make time to come see you tomorrow." he said.
"Hey blue eyes will you do me a favor? Stay with me until I fall asleep?" I asked him.
He smiled the biggest smile and said, "You got it beautiful. There's nothing I'd rather do than make sure you fall asleep." With that he came over and held my hand while the nurse went about taking my vitals. He kissed me gently on the forehead and cheek again. Soon I was fast asleep in a drug induced haze. I don't remember him letting go of my hand or leaving.
