Shattered By Broken Dreams

-Zacky's P.O.V.-
What did I do to cause this? I thought, as I sat on my couch, thinking about earlier. I never should have asked her to be my girlfriend...no matter how much I loved her...
I finished my beer then opened another and drank from it.
I looked at the picture of us I had on the mantle and felt my heart hurt worse than it already did.
Jimmy had sneaked a picture of us. We were both smiling as I kissed her.
-Flashback-
"Heyyyy!" I said, after Andy gave me a jump hug after I got my luggage.
The guys and I had just got back from our second tour.
"How's my beautiful Andy?" I asked, after she kissed me.
"A lot better now that you're back!" She said, happily.
"I missed you," I told, her.
"I missed you too, Baker."
I smirked before I kissed her.
"How was the tour?" She asked.
"It was fun!" I said, grinning. "Tiring, but fun!"
"I'm glad! I wish I could have seen you guys!"
"So do I..."
"Next time I will!" She said, cheerfully, making me grin.
I gave her a long kiss, feeling her smile during the kiss.
-End of Flashback-
The memory killed me. I could still feel that smile.
"Andy?!" I quickly said, when my phone rang.
"Nooo, it's Brian..."
"Oh. Hey, dude," I said, disappointed.
"You ok?"
"Yeah," I lied. "What's up?"
"Ok. Do you and Andy want to come over later? I'm bored and I have nothing to do."
"Uh...I don't think tonight would be a good night."
"Ooohhhh! Heh, I won't keep ya from that! Don't make any more Zacky's!" He joked.
"No promises!" I fake laughed.
"Alright, see ya!" He said.
"Bye," I said, before I closed my phone.
The whole day I sat around drinking. Once I finished my beer I started making a dent into my whiskey, then vodka, then anything I could grab until I passed out.
-Dream/Flashback-
"Hey, Andy...?" I said, nervously.
"Hey, Zacky!" She said, cheerfully.
"I need to tell you something..."
"What is it? Is everything ok?" She asked, with a frown.
"Oh! Everything is fine! I hope..." I said. "I was wondering...we, uh, we've gone on a few dates and, uh, I was wonder if...do...would you like to maybe be my girlfriend?" I asked, nervously.
"You want me to be your girlfriend?" She asked.
"You, uh, you don't have to be if you don't want to. I, uh...I was just wondering," I said, scratching my neck.
Shit this was a bad idea! Why'd I ask? Shit! I thought, extra nervous.
She smiled.
"I'd love to be your girlfriend!" She said, happily.
"Really?!"
She nodded.
I ended up kissing her before I grinned.
"How long have you been wondering?"
"Since before I asked you out."
"Wow," she said. "Well, now I am!" She said, with a smile.
-End of Dream/Flashback-
I woke up, my head pounding.
I got off the couch and walked up the stairs.
"Hey, babe, do we still have any pain pills?" I asked, as I walked into our bedroom.
I saw her drawer open and yesterday rushed back in my head.
I looked on top of the dresser and saw the engagement ring I had bought her, picked it up and stared at it.
-Flashback-
"I can't believe you're looking for an engagement ring!" Jimmy said, as we walked around a jewelry store.
"Why not? We've known each other since we were six, and we've been together for 12 years. I think that's a good amount of time!" I said, with a grin.
"...You just...what if you're making the wrong decision? Or she's not ready?" He asked.
"I don't think she'll say no," I told him.
"Alright, then let's find you a ring so my little boy can get married!"
I laughed.
We went to quite a few stores before I found the perfect ring.
"Dude, this is it! This is the ring!" I said, with a huge grin. "Awesome dude! Nice choice, very nice!" Jimmy said, patting my back.
I paid for the ring then left, feeling more excited than ever.
-End of Flashback-
I kept staring at the ring until I heard the front door open.
I prayed she came back to tell me she changed her mind and wanted to be my wife.
"Hey," I said, when she came into the bedroom.
"Hey..."
"...So..."
We both stood in silence.
"I, um...I'll just get my stuff then..." She said.
My heart dropped.
"Um...r-right...I, uh...I'll let you get to that..." I said, before I started to walk out, then stopped and turned. "Andy, are you sure you want to do this? If I did something then just tell me!"
"You didn't do anything..."
"Then stay!"
"I can't..."
"Why not."
"I...I don't love you anymore...I only said I did to not hurt you. I don't hate you, but I don't love you anymore..." She told, me.
I stood, frozen, feeling my world crumble from under me.
"I'm sorry..." She told, me.
"For what? Letting me think the woman I've loved for years loves me too?" I asked.
"Zacky," she sighed. "I didn't know it would hurt you this much."
"How hurt did you think it would make me? Even last night you said you loved me!"
"I...I'll just send my sister to get my stuff," she said, before she walked by.
"Fine. I don't want to see you again anyways," I lied.
A moment later I heard the front door close.
I actually lost her...my biggest nightmare came true...I lost Andy...I thought, as stood, looking to the ground.
