Brian’s P.O.V

Zack was completely bummed out after talking to Erin which meant that the party had a big impact on them as well. He has liked the girl for years now and finally was getting around to making it official. I saw Hannah talking to Jimmy down the hall and when they were both smiling that was a good sign. I ran towards Hannah so that I could apologize.

“Hannah wait up” I said to her and she rolled her eyes.. probably mad and too many people stopping her.

“Look I gotta go find Erin I don’t want to talk right now” She said in a hurry.

“It’s about Erin” I said and she turned around and waited tapping her foot.

“Well hurry up none the less okay” She said and I nodded.

“Erin was by the fountain this morning cause she was skipping and I guess she and Zack were talking about what happened the other night and basically she is pushing Zack away because she wants to focus on you more than a guy right now” I said and Hannah kind of readjusted how she was standing.

“Anyways according to Zack she left for the day… my guess is that since she hadn’t seen you this morning she didn’t want to be here… oh and I am sorry about the whole Jimmy and Samantha thing” I said and she didn’t waste any time she just kind of sighed and walked off. I saw Matt and Zack talking and I went over and Zack was trying to be his normal self.

“You want me to call Samantha?” I asked him trying to make a joke and Matt was slightly laughing at it but Zack was about ready to murder me.

“Just shut the fuck up dude” He said and walked away… too soon apparently.

Erin’s P.O.V

I lied on the couch wrapped up in my favorite fluffy white blanket watching The Walking Dead and I was snacking on some ice cream and I knew that my dad was out for the week and I just really hated being at school so this was better than listening to boring teachers. I drifted off a few times but the last time I woke up and Hannah was sitting in the recliner across the room watching the show in her underwear. I just started laughing.

“How are you so shy at school yet you sit in my house in your underwear watching the walking dead!?” I asked her laughing and she started busting out laughing and I pulled open the huge blanket and she crawled into it on the other side of the couch.

“I don’t know I think it’s you, I feel great around you… when you aren’t trying to piss me off” She said and we both just giggled a little.

“Look Erin you are my family and I know that you didn’t know about the Jimmy thing.. I actually talked to him earlier while I was hunting you down but Brian pulled me aside told me you left” She said and trailed off.

“Oh I see, I really didn’t know that he was gonna do that” I stated and she grabbed my ice cream and took a bite and we sat there for a moment in sort of an awkward silence.

“You turned Zack down for me Erin… I feel horrible right now. Can I ask.. how long have you two been talking and defining this whole thing?” She asked and I stilled with my eyes on the floor but then I just sighed.

“Well my second freshman year” I said laughing “Zack and I had first started talking and that is how I met him and the guys… well we passed notes, flirted and such throughout the next three years and recently we had just thought that actually trying would help but I just feel that I should focus on you more than a guy” I said to her.

“Erin you have to get with that man! Seriously he really likes you and I am totally letting you know that everything is fine” She said and just like that I no longer wanted to think about it since she made a special trip over here.

“Let’s just not talk about it because I literally just want to enjoy that you actually skipped class to come over here!” I said happily to her and she just laughed rolling her eyes but her face fell a little and then she took a deep breath.

“Will you show me how to control some of the gifts that I always see you using?” She asked and I was just in complete shock that she was asking me for help on this… let alone that she was gonna do this. I sat up and she did as well and I grabbed her hands.

“Alright take a deep breath and just feel the gifts that you have run through your body” I said and we both took deep breaths and I could feel her fingers tremble and I knew that it was just as strong for her as it was for me when I completely focused on this. She started shallowly breathing but I squeezed her hands.

“Deep breaths, don’t freak out just let it come to you” I said to her and when I opened my eyes hers were closed and I could see the pillows on the floor rise and I smiled cause I knew that it was not me. I wiggled her hand and she opened her eyes slowly and her eyes were a little brighter.

“Calmly while staying focused look around you Hannah” I said to her and she smiled and I could tell that I broke down at least a small part of her fear of this and just as she was lifting the chair off the ground taking it to the next level we heard a knock on the door and everything dropped back to place but I lifted the pillows placing them on the chairs and Hannah ran grabbing her clothes to cover up. I was startled when I opened the door to find Jimmy and Zack just standing there smiling.

“Umm hello” I said to them and I could tell that Zack and I were still unsure of how things were gonna go between the two of us. Hannah came to the door grabbing their arms and pulling them in. I closed the door trying to figure out how she was so used to them.

“Do you want to tell me why you are here?” I asked looking at the two of them and they just smiled.

“Well I was wondering why in the hell Hannah disappeared and I convinced Zack to come with me because I think it is really dumb that after the past three years and so much flirting and shit happening there is still nothing official” Jimmy blurted out, of course he was the first one to speak.

“Well I don’t see Zack speaking up so I am pretty sure that he really doesn’t care now” I said and Hannah practically punched my arm and I looked at Zack and he just sighed.

“He fucking cares Erin… he is just too much of an idiot to say something, you know that he loves playing the badass rather than admitting that for three and a half years he wants you” Jimmy said and I just sat there for a moment but I felt off… there was a feeling of uneasiness that swept over to me and I could barely breathe and I grabbed Hannah’s shoulder and I closed my eyes placing my hand on my head and was almost taken into my own mind.

“Girls we are so sorry…” My father said as Hannah and I sat there on the bed holding hands.

“Sorry for what dad?” I asked and both of us were together with our fathers for the first time fully in years.

“For not telling you something imperative to your lives” Hannah’s father said and we both just looked at each other and we could feel that something was gonna hit hard.

“What is it that you haven’t told us?” Hannah asked.

“And why did you have to lie about it?” I asked going off of what Hannah just asked and I could see her father grab a box and it had our names on it and had a couple of notes attached to it.

“Erin?” I heard Zack ask and I opened my eyes and I just sighed looking over at Zack and then to Hannah.

“Jimmy let’s get Erin some tea” Hannah said letting go of my hand and they walked into the kitchen leaving me to deal with Zack and I watched Hannah enter the kitchen with Jimmy and I turned my head and Zack moved closer to me and I just tried so hard not to smile… both of were the same with how stubborn we are.

“Are you alright?” He asked and I just turned my body towards him.

“I’m fine I just got a little light headed that’s all, I am good now” I said and we just sat there for a moment and I saw him scoot a little closer… this had been happening for a long time. I scooted in a little and I just sat there and he smiled and I finally smiled as well. I sat there with Zack and I went over the past few years in my head and I was still hesitant because I wanted to be there for Hannah… but I really like him.

“Are we gonna waste another year Zack?” I asked him and his head shot up and before I could even get any other thought out he leaned in and kissed me gently and pulled away a little.

“No more wasting time, can we at least try this Erin?” He asked and I just nodded and kissed him and pulled back not realizing that we were holding hands. Hannah came out of the kitchen smiling and I knew that face… somebody was getting really into Jimmy.
