I'll Carry You Away

I sat on a bench at the beach and watched the locals have fun. The ocean breeze smelled salty and gave me goosebumps but I didn't care.

"What are you doing out here by yourself?" I heard a man ask.

"People watching." I said simply, not caring to turn back and look at the man who was questioning me and hoping he'd leave.

To my dismay, he sat down right next to me. "What's the fun in watching people make memories when you can go out and make some for yourself?" He asked.

I took a long drag from my cigarette and sighed. "I do that sometimes. I feel like if I watch people have fun then I don't have to do it myself. It's just one of my crazy traits. I'm weird."

"Well I don't think you're weird. And none of you is crazy. Minus the hair." He quipped.

I chuckled slightly. "So what are you doing all by yourself?"

"Trying to find a blue haired girl sitting on the beach alone..."

I smiled slightly and turned to look at the . He was covered in tattoos and had black hair, which was slicked back. His bright green eyes went well with his pale skin. He had a septum piercing and wore a small smile on his plump, snakebitten lips. He was pretty cute, but seemed like a brotherly figure, as brotherly a stranger can be.

"Well you found one...but unfortunately, this people watcher has to go home. Or else her roommate will send out a search team. It was nice meeting you." I got up and turned to face him.

"Maybe we'll see eachother again?"

"Maybe we will."

I walked into the house and looked at the clock. Shit. It was 11:34 and Sander was probably looking for my dumb ass.

"RAMI!"

Here comes the beast.

Sander stormed down the stairs with a sour look on her face. I shuffled into the kitchen and opened up the fridge.

"Where have you been? You scared me shitless..." Sander trailed off as she followed me.

"I was just people watching."

"Again?"

"Mhm."

Sander sighed. "Well next time leave me a note or something. I nearly had a heart attack."

"Can do." I grabbed my phone from the charger and turned it on. When I saw the date I looked up at Sander and flashed her a shit-eating grin.

She raised an eyebrow at me then her face fell. "It's Saturday.."

"TIME FOR ME TO DRAG YOU TO THE BEACH HAHAHA" I screamed before sprinting to my room to get dressed.

I walked downstairs and Sander sat on the couch with a book in her hands. She had a grey sweatshirt and tan cargo shorts on over her blue and black tankini. While I had a skimpy white tank top and faded jean shorts on over my black bikini with purple polka dots on it. No wonder were considered polar opposites...

"Alright let's go!" I squeaked before heading towards our back porch. Our house was right on the beach so if we walked to our back porch and opened the waist-high gate, we'd be there.

"Why do we have to go to the beach? Why can't we just stay here and get hammered?" Sander whined like a child to their mother.

"Alexandra Jones, we are going to the beach and that is final!" I spoke in a stern, fatherly tone.

"Alright mom."

"Let's go Miss Pissy. Before all the good spots are taken and we have to set up by the showers." I mocked disgust and Sander laughed.

"You're a fucking handful jesus." She mumbled.

I threw my head back and cackled. Then in my best Russian accent I said, "That's what I want you to think!"

She pinched the bridge of her nose and sighed. "Jesus fuck Rami. Let's just get this day over with."

"Yes yes... You should enjoy your last day of freedom before I enslave all of mankind!" I screamed in my fake accent.

Sander chuckled and walked out and onto the beach. After about 5 minutes, I found the perfect spot. I dropped my stuff down and flopped onto the sand.

"My god Rami! What the fuck are you doing?" Sander questioned with a laugh as I rubbed the warm sand onto my body.

"I haven't been to the beach in 4 years and you want me to act normal by the ocean? You're crazy." I grabbed a handful of sand and threw it at her.

"Hey!" She screamed. Then she dipped her hand in the sand and flung it at me.

"It's on!"

We had a huge sand war until Sander surrendered. I laughed evilly and ran off to the water and practically jumped in. I watched Sander follow me slowly and stop at the shore. She'd never been fond of water. She wasn't afraid of it, she just didn't like it. I watched as she got in and waded over to me.

"Took you long enough..." I mumbled with a smirk.

Sander shot me a glare and pushed me into a giant wave. "SANDER YOU SHIT STICK."

She ran off laughing as I swam to shore at an attempt to chase her.

Sorry I haven't been posting on any of my stories lately... I had some medical issues and it put my writing on hold. But now I'm back and updating all of my stories, especially this one! :)
