Right Where I Belong

Elise’s POV

It’s Friday and now really everybody was talking about the show this evening, I don’t know why everybody was so excited.
I haven’t seen Samantha today and I was glad for it, maybe she already forgot that I should go along with her to the concert.
And I knew that she just wanted me there - because she needed me there not because we were friends or anything.
I would stand in the back trying not to be crushed or maybe I could just sit down somewhere and wait until it was over.
I looked at my watch, since it was Friday and every class was already over I had time for myself.
“Do you know what you will be wearing this evening?” I heard the girls behind me talk.
Why would I worry about what I would be wearing?
Some girls are so complicated… wow…
I got up and walked back to my room where Samantha was standing in front of her wardrobe.
“Shit… I can’t find it…” she cursed.
“What are you searching for?” I asked her while closing the door.
“I want the short black skirt… but I can’t find it…” I rolled my eyes at her.. she was also so worried about her looks.
“What will you wear?” she turned around and looked at me.
I looked down on myself, wearing a light blue jeans and a blue blouse with a grey button down jacket over it, “This…”
“Oh Elise… really… I know you are a geek, but you could at least… ahh.. Never mind, there will be so many boys… but I wouldn’t get my hopes up when I was you… they are just not into the geek and innocent type of girl..” Samantha said and turned back around.
Should I be offended… maybe but I don’t care what she thinks.. I liked my outfit and I liked myself why would I want to dress differently just to make someone notice me?!
“Is it true?” Samantha roused me from my thoughts.
“Is what true?” I asked her confused.
“That you are still… you know… a virgin…?”
“I.. yes. Why?” I didn’t know where that question was coming from.
“WOW… really I mean.. you are.. 22 now? Right? How can you never.. you know…? Or are you a lesbian? Come on you can tell me…” Samantha babbled now.
“I no.. I’m not.. I just never..” I began and felt uncomfortable to talk about this.
“Oh okay.. you are shy.. I get it, shy, innocent and a geek… If you will ever find somebody… I don’t know.. oh in 10 minutes the other girls come over… to get ready you know.. make up, hair and stuff so if you…”
“No.. I will just grab a book and go outside the weather is pretty nice… we will meet us there?”
“Yes, okay…” Samantha turned back to the wardrobe and threw everything she might want to wear on the bed and I grabbed my book and went outside.

Jimmy’s POV

I was wandering around the campus, who would have thought that I would put a foot on a college, huh?!
I pulled my phone out, walked towards the front gate, took a selfie of me in front of the college sign and sent it to my parents with the note: Your son at College – Save this for the Christmas Cards this year.
Brian, Johnny and Zack were off to a restaurant eating and I began to wander further around.
It was pretty quiet here the people here must be still sitting in the classrooms or lecture room or how you call it here. I pulled my sunglasses back on and pulled my sweater up I was thinking about to put the hoodie on my head but then I would look even more suspicious and I didn’t want to be surrounded by people.



When I walked around the campus I saw across the street another tall building the gates were closed so I walked along the stone wall but there was no other entrance.
I wouldn’t let a stupid stone wall hinder my way so I grabbed on to the bring and pulled me up then I swung my leg up and pulled the rest of my body over the top and landed on my feet, like a cat, at the other side.
I looked around and it was also quiet I liked the silence, here was a huge field with grass and the sun was still up it looked nicer than the other campus.
Maybe this was for the upper class students or something, shit I should have taken the picture here…

I wandered around for another 20 minutes when I saw a lonely girl sitting at one of the picnic areas.
Her dark brown maybe black hair was glistering in the sun, her head low like she concentrated on something. Then I saw that she was reading a book her back was bent forward, she was biting her lip while reading. Her lips were plump and red she reminded me of the Sleeping beauty from the fairy tales.
I walked closer didn’t want to startle her but still wanted to watch her more closely.
I noticed she was putting her finger on the line she was reading which I found adorable as if she was concentrating so much that she was afraid to get lost…

A branch was crushed underneath my feet and her head shot up and she looked wildly around until she spotted me.
Her eyes widened and then she closed her book and held it to her chest. She opened her mouth and I looked at her big blue eyes and her pale skin, good she really was a sleeping beauty.. only that she was awake and looking at me.
“What are you doing here? Boys are not allowed here? Or are you one of the repairmen?”, her voice was soft and I had to go closer to really hear her.
“No, I’m not a repairman. Why are boys not allowed here?” I asked with a smile.
If I would put my sunglasses down, would she recognize who I really am or was she clueless?
“Because, well.. this is a pure girls college.”
“Oh, wow really.. then this is my place to be… I’m Jimmy by the way.” I walked closer to her and held my hand out.
She looked at my hand and took it reluctantly, “I’m Elise, nice to meet you.”
“Elise…” I let her name linger on my tongue.
“So I guess it’s James normally, right?” She asked and pulled a little on her hand that I still held in mine. Her hand was so small and soft that I didn’t want to let go.
“Yes, James. For Friends Jimmy and for Fans The Rev.” I teased, okay now she must know who I am.
“Oh…” she laughed and I was confused.
“Why do you laugh?”
“I thought… that was a joke, oh never mind.” She looked down on the table.
“Can I take a seat?”, she made me curious, she really doesn’t know who I am and she acted different to all the other girls I met that was so refreshing that I wanted to get to know her.
“Hm.. I don’t know.. you should better go… Are you from the college next door?”
I took my sunglasses down and placed them on the table in front of me.
“I come from the college there, yes. But I am not a student there… more like a guest.”
“So you visit your brother?”
“Nope, I don’t have a brother.. or well I have brothers but not by blood.”
She frowned at me and seemed not to get my wording.
“My friends.. anyways.. You study here?” I asked her with a smile and hoped she wouldn’t want to leave soon.

Elise’s POV

After more than 30 minutes that I talked to this stranger or rather he talked to me and asked one question after another I looked down at my watch it was already late and the concert would start in one hour.
I didn’t know where Samantha and I would really meet but I wanted to be on time so I should really go now.
I pulled my book behind my back, I didn’t want him to see what I was reading, I didn’t want someone else to see as well…
It was no book from my studying it was a love romance and I only read these books when I was alone and no one was watching but this Jimmy guy had caught me and I was just at the part where the hero would kiss the girl and I was so concentrated on the scene, wanted to imagine what it felt like when I heard the noise that someone was behind me and I turned around.

I stood up from the bench I was sitting on and wanted to excuse myself.
“Wait… where are you going, Elise?” Jimmy asked me and took my hand.
I pulled my hand back, wasn’t used to such an contact after just meeting somebody, because it was not just shaking ones hand, he just kept holding my hand stroking with his thumb.
“I need to go now… It was nice to meet you, James.” I slide along the bench to stand up straight.
“You really need to go?” Jimmy asked me and got up from the bench as well.
“Yes and I think it would be better if you would go back to your friends because unannounced guests are not happily seen here…” I smiled and took a step back then I turned around and went towards our main building.
“Hey… can I see you again… sometime?” I hadn’t noticed that he caught up to me and dropped my book in shock that he was standing so close again.
“Sorry, I didn’t want to scare you…”, he bent down and picked the book up and my cheeks began to burn when he was about to see what I have been reading.
But he didn’t comment it just handed me the book and smiled, “So?”
“So.. what?” I asked him with a frown.
“Will I see you again?”
“No… I don’t think so…” I replied, why would he want to see me again? And why would he even care?
He confused me and he shouldn’t be here in the first place.
“Wow… you playing hard to get, huh?” He shoved his hand into his pockets and looked a little sad and I didn’t know why.
I just noticed when he was standing now in front of me, that he was really tall and I had to look up to him.
“Playing? I am not playing anything…” I looked at him with a frown.
“Oh okay… so… wish you a nice… life.” He replied and went back to the stone wall surrounding our campus, he grabbed on to the edge and pushed himself over the brink, he looked on last time to me and then he jumped down.

My feet moved on their own accord and I had opened my mouth to call for him but I didn’t know what to say and why would I feel the need to call him back…
I shook my head and looked one last time at the wall and then I looked over at the table I had been sitting on with him, there still lay his sunglasses… I took them and placed them at my collar and went back inside.
