Right Where I Belong

Elise POV

When I woke up on Sunday morning I felt wonderful, Jimmy was still lying next to me and sleeping soundly.
It felt so good to be with him, I never wanted it to change, but it would change… soon.
I walked downstairs and made some coffee for us. I called Tyler to ask him how he planned tomorrow- my departure.
“Elise?” I heard Tyler’s sleepy voice and looked at the clock, damn 8 in the morning.
“Yes, sorry did I wake you?!” I asked sheepishly.
“Ty, who is it?” I heard a feminine voice.
Oh damn…
“Sssh… what’s going on Elli? Something wrong?” Tyler asked.
“No.. no.. I just.. I will call again later? If this is a bad moment…” I didn’t want to interrupt him by.. well something, obviously.
“No, talk to me. What’s up?!”
“Alright, I just wanted to know what you planned for tomorrow, when will you bring me back?!” I hated to think about getting back and not seeing Jimmy again so soon.
“Oh yes, I wanted to tell you that Zack called and canceled the Date for tomorrow, we gonna do that Wednesday I think. And I have another Appointment tomorrow morning, I’m sorry Elli, I have to bring you back pretty early.” Tyler finished and sounded sad but he couldn’t be as sad as me.
“Oh alright. I will be back this afternoon to pack my things and …” I started.
“Elli, I’m sorry. Maybe you could ask Jimmy to bring you to the college tomorrow?”
“He can’t. They have an appointment as well, but it’s okay. It’s not like I didn’t know I have to go back…” Was I trying to convince him or myself?!
“Alright, Elli. I will see you later…”
“Yes, bye.”

Kim’s POV

Damn, why was it so well-lit in my bedroom?! Normally I shut down all the window blinds.
I turned around and felt something or rather someone warm lying next to me.
I let my hand wander over the side and felt an arm, I opened my eyes and then the evening and night came back to me…

I looked over at Zack’s sleeping form, his mouth was slightly open and turned to my side. We haven’t slept together or we have slept together but we didn’t have sex.
I know we both wanted it yesterday but we both also drunk a lot at the party that we agreed that we didn’t want to have our first time together while being drunk.

I turned towards him and kissed his lips, Zack groaned a little in his sleep.
“Zack? You awake?” I asked him softly and stroked my finger along his cheek.
“Hmm...” Zack turned completely towards me and slowly opened his piercing green eyes.
“Hey Sweetie” Zack murmured.
“Hey… do you wanna sleep a little longer?”
“Oh yes!” Zack turned away again and closed his eyes with a sigh.
“Oh alright, then you also wanna meet my brother and mother today?”
“I.. WHAT?!” Zack bolted up in the bed and looked at me with wide eyes and I couldn’t help my chuckle.
“Calm down, babe. I’m just kidding, but my brother and mother will really come over today…” I grinned and looked at the clock.
“God, don’t… scare me like that… I thought they will be here like… every second.”
“Shit…” I looked at the clock again.
“Hm.. Zack.. is it really after 1?” I asked him a little nervous.
“Wait..”, he fumbled for his phone, “Yes, it’s 1:20.Why?”
“Then… I wasn’t kidding and they will really be here at any second…” I finished and now I began to panic as well.
“Shit shit shit… I need to shower and… I need to… god where are my clothes?” I sprang from the bed only in my underwear and looked wildly around.
“Kim… calm down..” Zack got up as well and walked towards me only in shirt and boxers and grabbed my hips and pulled me towards him and kissed my lips softly.
“Better?” he asked me when he ended the kiss.
I breathed deeply in and out, “Yes, thank you.”
“Alright, you go showering, I will search for your clothes and get dressed as well and then…”
‘DING DONG’
“Damn it.. Zack I’m sorry… I haven’t thought that…” I started but Zack just kissed me again.
“Just call that you will be there soon.” I nodded.
“GIVE ME A SECOND.” I yelled towards the door and Zack grabbed his pants and pulled them on and I grabbed a sweater from my wardrobe and fresh jeans and pulled it on as well, I ran into the bathroom and combed my hair.
Zack buttoned up his shirt and walked behind me into the bathroom and combed his hair, too but when he wasn’t satisfied he just grabbed his cap and pulled it on.



“Will they throw me out at once or you think it’s alright?” Zacky asked me and the doorbell rang again.
“Damn it KIMMMM! Open up!” I heard my brother Chris yell from the front door.
“You look perfect, babe.”I kissed his lips. “You ready for this?”
“As ready as I can be right now.” Zack smiled at me and all my worries were forgotten - until I heard my brother yell again, “KIMMM!!”
“I’m coming!” I yelled back and took Zack’s hand and moved towards the door.

I opened the door and my mother and brother stood there and they looked pretty annoyed, but when they saw me holding Zack’s hand they both smiled knowingly and I didn’t know if annoyed would have been better…
“Mom, Chris… This is Zack. Zack, this is Chris as you know and this is my Mom.” I introduced.
“Nice to meet you.” Zack shook my mother’s hand and then my brothers.
“Nice to see you again.” Chris replied with a smile.
“You knew that she had a boyfriend?” My mom looked suspiciously at my brother and he just shrugged his shoulders.
“We met a time before… Are you letting us in now or what?” My brother walked past us and my mother walked behind him.
“It’s your chance to go?!” I whispered to Zack and he smiled at me.
“Nope, I am staying. And I wanna see how you explain to your mother how we met and I want to hear exactly each word you told my ex in that bookstore…” Zacky grinned and my cheeks began to turn red.
“Maybe we should better improvise…?!” I said and turned back to the living room where my mother and brother were already waiting for the family interrogation.
But I couldn’t tell how glad I was that Zacky didn’t take the easy way out…

Elise’s POV

I walked back upstairs and wanted to wake Jimmy but he wasn’t in bed anymore then I heard the piano.
And I walked back downstairs into Jimmy’s “Music or Inspiration- Room”.



I watched him quietly for a couple of minutes. I always wanted to play an instrument but my parents thought that would lead to nothing and I should concentrate on the important things.
But when I watched Jimmy so lost in thoughts and playing such an amazing melody that I yearned to learn to play as well.
“Sit down next to me.” Jimmy voice roused me from my thoughts.
“I don’t want to disturb you. I will just go back…”
“Elise, sit down next to me.” Jimmy said and kept playing.
I walked slowly into the room and said down next to him on the bench.

He stopped and wrote some notes on the sheet before him and then looked up to me.
“Why do you look so sad?” Jimmy held his head to the side and looked at me curiously.
“I talked to Tyler and he will bring me to the college tomorrow morning, I need to be back at his house in the afternoon to pack my stuff.”
“Oh and what is with the meeting tomorrow with Zack?” Jimmy took my hand in his hand put it on the keys of the piano. He pushed my fingers down with his and played a soft tone…
“He cancelled the appointment, they will meet on another day.” I told him and looked at our hands pushing down the keys again and playing softly with me.
“Let’s get dressed and go to the beach, I want to enjoy the last hours we have together and watch with you how the waves, that always calms me down...”

He stood up and after we got dressed properly we walked the small path down at the back of his house which led us directly to the beach.
The sun was shielded by clouds, it was too cold to sit there in a shirt but Jimmy and I were prepared. He laid the blanket down on the sand sat down and I sat in his lap, leaning my head against his shoulder.
We were the only ones here sitting and watching quietly the waves.
“Why did your parents want you to go to that college?” Jimmy asked me after some time.
“It was one of their last will after they died. They always wanted to protect us and to give us the best education possible. That we could handle ourselves even if they are not around. That it would be this early I think they also didn’t expect.I know that Tyler wanted to take care of me… but he was not allowed to take custody for me by then…” I felt a tear slip down my cheek, I haven’t cried in a long time. I couldn’t even remember the time I last cried…
“I’m sorry Elise, I shouldn’t have started to talk about that…” Jimmy started.
“No no, James, it’s alright. Did you know that I always liked the beach, I haven’t been there often… but when I am crying at the beach it feels like the tears belong here, it’s not a bad feeling you know, its seems like the tears belong to the water, then they are not alone…”
Jimmy was quiet and just held me closer to his body and kissed my throat, “I love you, Elise.”
My breathe caught in my throat, he loved me?! Really?!
I turned my head and looked into his eyes, I smiled and he captured my lips with his.
With these 3 words Jimmy made my last few hours with him perfect, just perfect.
