Daddy's Little Girl
We drove for what felt like forever before we finally reached our town. Braydyn, just like he said, slept the entire way. Which I was thankful for, because I had cried the entire way. About an hour into our trip, Jimmy called me and said that Dad knew we we're gone. I was scared of what he would do, but more than anything I wanted him to come after me. A part of me wanted him to drag me back with him and make love to me like before. But I knew that wouldn't happen. I pulled onto our street and turned the music down, just as Bray woke up.
"Hey, were almost there," I said placing my hand on his knee.
Moments later I pulled into the driveway, parking I turned off the car and pulled my phone out of my pocket so I could check my texts. I had one from Zack, two from Brian, one from Johnny, four from Jimmy, and seven from Dad. All from the last 30 minutes. I didn't check any of them except the ones from Jimmy.
'You better hurry up, your dad is on his way.'
'Kiera, your Dad is on his way home. Text me back.'
'You better hurry up and get your stuff, he's pissed.'
'Dammit Kiera, text me back!'
He's on his way here. Super.
"Braydyn, go in there, get all of your clothes, your computer, and a few toys, we have ten minutes and we have to get out of here, okay?"
"Dad is on his way here, I don't know how long we have until he arrive's, buuuut I don't really want to find out. Ready?" I asked. He nodded, and we both jumped out of the Tahoe and made a mad dash for the house. I quickly unlocked the front door and embraced the heat from the furnace as it hit my skin. I grabbed two trash bags from the kitchen and then we both ran upstairs as quickly as we could. I grabbed our duffle bags from the hall closet and we both set out to our rooms.
Opening my closet door I started grabbing things and shoving them into the garbage bag. I then opened all of my dresser drawers and again shoved all of the clothes into the trash bag as well.
I reached under my mattress and got my money. Everything else I needed was in the Tahoe already.
"Braydyn!! Are you ready?!"
I walked out into the hallway and told him to go ahead and take his stuff out to the truck. I then went into Dad's room and started taking some of his dirty shirts and stuffing them into my duffle bag, along with one of his hoodies, and his cologne.
Just because I'm mad at him, doesn't mean that I wont miss him..
I grabbed my stuff and ran downstairs, closed and locked the door, I ran and opened the back door of the Tahoe threw my stuff in and climbed into the drivers seat. I buckled in and pulled out of the driveway and onto the main street.
I stopped at the stop sign and as I looked into the rearview mirror I noticed Dad pull into the driveway, and start to run towards the house. He apparently seen us though, because he looked right at the car, but just stood there watching as we drove away.
Just standing there.
Tears rolled down my face as I drove farther and farther away from him. It took every bit of will power that I had not to turn around and go back to him.
But I didn't.
