A Brutalized Soul Set on the Innocent

Chapter 3

I woke up the next morning with an excruciating migraine, and a horrible pain in my rib cage. I threw the blanket off me, I'm guessing my mom covered me with during the night, and attempted to stand. I finally regained my balance, my legs not feeling as jellyish as the night before, figuring I better clean the dry blood of my face. I made it to my bathroom and saw the message 'BLOOD?' with an arrow pointing at the floor, with lipstick. This was mine and my mom's way of communicating, it made things easier when we really wanted to talk. I grabbed a washcloth, wet it down, and began to clean my face and neck, noticing for the first time how bad the blood stain on my shirt was, I was gonna hafta change it.

I went back in my room, and slowly pulled my t-shirt over my head, whimpering the whole time I did it. I looked down and saw my dad's Nike imprints formed as bruises, all across my stomach. I slowly made my way to my closet in search of something clean, when someone knocked on my door.

"Case?" my mom called.

I started to panic. I tried to cover my stomach up, only realizing I didn't have anything on. "Hold on, mom. I'm getting dressed," I called from my closet, grabbing the closest shirt and pulling it on, not realizing it was a Syn Gates one. Oh, the irony.

I walked slowly to the door, holding my stomach the whole time, whining to myself. I opened the door to see my mom's bright, shining face.

"Morning, baby," she said, kissing the side of my head. She started quirking her eyebrow when she how nasueated. "What's wrong? You look sick."

I tried to smile as best I could. "Nothing, mama. My stomach hurts a little from last night. I see you noticed the blood?" I inquired.

She nodded her head, looking really concerned. "I did. Nobody hit you or anything did they?" she asked, fear starting to enter her eyes for the first time. I looked over shoulder and noticed my dad was coming out his room and was standing in his doorway, giving me the look of death.

I shook my head. "I'm fine, mom, nothing happened," I said, bending over and kissing her on the cheek.

"Okay," she said, a smile creeping across her face again. "Well me and the twins are off to do some toy shopping. Your dad and his friends are here somewhere, I'm pretty sure Jimmy brought Cassidy, they keep touching each other, kinda grossing me out." She patted me on the head, and walked away. "We're leaving honey," she said, spotting my dad in his bedroom and pecking him on the lips and heading downstairs.

"Morning, dad," I said, following my mom, and heading down the stairs in search of Cassidy.

"Hey, kid. How ya feeling?" he asked, actually sounding like he cared.

I stopped walking, and quirked my eyebrow at him. "I'm bruised, and sore. How the hell am I supposed to be feeling?"

He wrapped his arm around my shoulders and kissed me on the top of the head. "I'm sorry, Casey. I'm really sorry." He walked off mumbling to himself, leaving me standing there questioning what the hell just happened.

I made it the rest of the way downstairs and spotted Cassidy being attacked by Jimmy. He had his hands up her shirt, fondling her boobs, while his lips were attached to her neck, her moans echoing throughout the enormous livingroom. I rolled my eyes, this wasn't the first time I'd walked in on this before.

I sat in the chair that was the adjacent to the couch, and threw my feet up on Cassidy's legs. She waved at me as Jimmy now attached his lips to hers.

"James!" Matt screamed. Jimmy looked up, eyebrow quirked. "Get off your daughter, and let's talk about this new album."

Jimmy's face turned into a pout. "B-b-but Matt, I was having fun. I wanna keep ravaging her," he said, smirking at Cassidy, as she started to squirm again.

"Dude, do it later," Brian said. rolling his eyes at the two of them. Everyone was so used to Jimmy and Cassidy acting the way they did, it took a while to get used to, but nobody said much about it anymore.

"Fine," Jimmy sighed. As they started their stupid meeting, I pointed up the stairs to Cassidy and she nodded. She helped me out of the chair, and we walked slowly up the stairs, giggling like school girls the whole way to my room.

The second we entered my room, she plopped down on my bed, and carefully sat in my chair.

"You okay?" she asked, eyeballing me.

"Yeah, my stomach kinda hurts today," I said, not feeling totally bad, technically it wasn't a lie. To quickly change the subject I asked her: "whats going on with you and your attractive daddy?" A smirk crossing my face.

She leaned back on my bed, and starred dreamily at the ceiling. "He certainly is attractive isn't? Well, I mean they all are, but Jimmy is the most attractive. We had the most fun last night, I barely slept at all."

Wrong subject to cross too. "Ow, fuck," I said, as I started to laugh, and realized this was a bad idea.

Cassidy sat up and looked at me with concern. "What's wrong, babe?" She hopped off the bed, and lifted my shirt to check my stomach. "Holy shit!" She dropped it and looked repulsed. "What the fuck happened to you?"

"Nothing," I said, avoiding her eyes. "I fell down the stairs the other day."

She sighed an angry sigh. "Bullshit. Will you please stop telling me lies, Casey Haner? And tell me the truth for once? This looks like a shoe imprint, one I've seen before." She looked at it more closely, her eyes growing wider. "You've got to be kidding me?"

I put my head back against the chair, noticing for the first time the dark shadow that lurked in my doorway.

"Casey," Cassidy whispered, "this is your dad's shoe print. You hafta tell someone, tell Jimmy."

"You tell Jimmy," my dad spoke for the first time, making Cassidy scream, "and I'll beat your ass just like I did to my daughter's, got me?" He snarled, pointing a finger in her face.

Cassidy gulped, and nodded, not daring to breathe, or move. Brian stomped out of my room and slammed the door. Cassidy looked at me. "What are we going to do?" she whispered. I shook my head, tears streaming down my face.
