"I found this girl on the beach and she looked like she needed some help. Can you bring her some clothes and things? She's about, 5'5". Yeah. Uh-huh. Alright. Thanks Val, you're a life saver."
He hung up the phone as we pulled up into the driveway of a beautiful two-story house with bushes lining the front entrance and a basketball court on the side. Stunned, I started to shift in my seat as my mind wandered.
Who in the hell is this guy? How in the hell did he get a house like this? I mean, c'mon, he's got to be a criminal of some sort...
It's almost as if Brian could read my thoughts as I stared at the giant house, and he began to explain that he was the lead guitarist in a band called Avenged Sevenfold.
"You're WHAT?!" I exclaimed, making him shake with laughter.
"It's not fucking funny! Why didn't you tell me before hand?!" I growled. He straightened up a bit but a smirk I couldn't help but find sexy remained on his face.
"I didn't think it mattered. I'm trying to help you, not screw you Chloe." Brian shot back as he unbuckled his seatbelt to let himself out of the car. He walked around to the passenger's side and opened the door for me, taking my hand as he led me out the car and into this castle of a house.
"Stay here while I grab you a towel. I'll give you a tour of the house and where you'll be sleeping when I get back. My friends Matt and Valary should stop by soon with some clothes and shoes for you." he informed me as he headed down a long, dimly lit corridor and disappeared. My curiosity got the best of me and I soon found myself upstairs in a giant bedroom decked out in red and black coloring. The room had three doors inside, which led to a bathroom and two walk-in closets. Across from the bed was a fireplace wth fresh wood and a closed photograph book next to it. On the mantle was a picture of a beautiful blonde with a body to die for standing next to Brian. They both looked as happy as they could ever be. Just as I picked up the picture, Brian stood in the doorway.
"Well someone found their way around quite nicely I see." he smirked at me.
"I'm sorry, my curiosity just got the best of me. If you don't mind me asking, who's the girl in the picture? She's beautiful." I questioned. A look of sadness quickly replaced the smirk on his mysterious face and I mentally slapped myself for asking the question.
"I-It's okay if you don't want to talk about it. I just--"
"It's fine," Brian assured, cutting me off mid-sentence. "It's my ex-fiancee Christina. She cheated on me not too long ago so we called it quits."
Brian just shrugged it off like it didn't matter, but his face said otherwise.
I silently set the picture back on the mantle and waited for something, ANYTHING, to break this awkward ass silence. Just when I thought it would never end, the doorbell rang.
"Must be Val and Matt. I'll get the door then show you where your room is." he stated as we both descended down the stairs.
