Brian and I arrived at Matt's just twenty minutes before the other couples. Matt fired up the grill and Brian and Zacky were inside playing a video game. The girls and I were chatting about the latest news with our favorite boutique when we heard a knock on the door. Kenna's face lit up as Zacky's brother (also conveniently named Matt) and the Berry's came inside. They all shared hugs and greetings before both of the Berry's went after Johnny who was out on the deck drinking a beer. Jason went in after him and dunked him once more before finally getting out of the pool to dry off and search for food. Matt (the other Berry) found some already cooked burgers heating up in the oven and called Jason over to try and sneak some. They ended up getting caught in mid grab and jumped when they heard Matt yelling after them.
"HANDS OFF THE GOD DAMN BURGERS, BERRYS. THE PARENTS WILL BE HERE ANY MINUTE." Sanders yelled causing both Jason and Matt to drop their buns and flee out of the kitchen.
Right when Sanders said the word "parents", I felt Brian look at me and I froze. I didn't know what kind off impression I was going to make on his parents. I mean, they probably didn't know a damn thing about me seeing as though I've been spending a lot of time with Brian and he hasn't mentioned talking to them. "Hold that thought baby." he said, running toward the front door. I sat still on the couch as Brian twisted the doorknob open and what I heard next made my blood freeze in my veins.

I knew that Chloe might have felt a little nervous about meeting the parents, but she didn't really show it so I never brought it up. Matt was making the last of the burgers when he yelled at the Berrys for trying to steal some. I looked up towards Chloe when he said "parents" just to see if she was alright. She tried brushing it off with a smile, but it felt like she was hiding something. I went over to her and shot her my puppy dog smile so I could pry information out of her.

I woke up on the couch and looked around to see Suzy, Brian and his dad, and the rest of the gang piled around me talking in whispers. Suzy was the first to notice me wake up and she rushed to my side.

We all sat down in the dining room and feasted upon Matt's burgers as the Berry's tormented Johnny and Jimmy told endless jokes. The night was very lively as shots started being poured and couples began reminiscing about the years when Avenged was nothing. I learned a lot of things about the guys that I didn't find hard to believe. Zacky and his brother talked about the night that Zacky had the cops looking for him over stolen microphones, Matt talked about hanging with the guys all throughout high school and almost every story with Jimmy involved him terrorizing someone.
It started nearing midnight as Suzy pulled me to the side. Nervous, I stepped out to see what she wanted to talk about.
"I just wanted to let you know that I really do like you." she began. "Brian went through so much shit with his last girlfriend, and we're all surprised that he was able to bounce back so quickly. I don't mean that negatively, I'm just saying that you must be something truly special for him to just put something so hard on him in the past as fast as he did."

I found Brian sitting on the couch with a look on his face that read that he wasn't to pleased about something.
"Brian, are you alright?" I whispered into his ear.
