Bri Blade’s P.O.V
I was beyond furious as I stomped my way off the stage because of what I had just heard. I’m not going to cry. I’m not going to-
Oh shut the hell up Bri! Stop feeling sorry for yourself.
My subconscious screamed. I was not going to let that bastard win. I knew I should have listened to my gut when it told me not to trust Brian, and yet there I was kissing him! What was I thinking when I kissed a complete stranger?
What was he doing here anyway? It’s been 3 months since we’ve first met and the last time that I saw him! He didn’t even have the decency to tell me goodbye! And what’s worse, he had a girlfriend! If I knew her name and number, I swear I would call her up right now and fucking tell on his ass.
“Bri, wait!” I heard him shout after me. I ignored him and continued walking. “Please, stop! I can explain!”
“Ah, hell no!” I suddenly stopped and completely turned to face him. “Don’t even try it. I really don’t want to hear your made up excuses Brian.”
“It’s not an excuse. I plan on telling you the truth, all of it, if you would just listen to me!” He threw his arms up to defend himself.
“Like I said Brian, I don’t want to hear it!”
“Please, just give me a chance Bri. I’ll explain everything to you, the reason why I cheated on my horrible girlfriend.”
I scoffed before he could continue. Was he just trying to make me feel better about myself so I’d feel better about him? “And I’ll tell you why I never came back.” He pleaded me with those…gorgeous brown eyes.
I couldn’t help but melt just a little, but I won’t. I won't let myself be that girl who loses herself and her identity because of some guy.
I sighed. “I can’t Brian. I’m working tonight.”
“Here?” He asked, sounding hopeful.
“Yes. If you had shown up like you had promised, you would have found that out.” I crossed my arms and narrowed my eyes at him.
He nodded as he bowed his head. “I know. I’m sorry.” Suddenly his eyes seemed to lighten as he looked back up. “So you’re going to see the show tonight?”
I shrugged, slightly confused. “I guess I sort of have to since I’m working the bar. Why?”
“’Cause it’ll be me and a few of my friends playing on the stage.” He said cheerily, proud by that statement.
“What?” I dropped my arms. “Is that why you’re here tonight?” He was in a band? Was it one that I knew? I thought he looked familiar the day I met him, and now I knew part of the reason why. Did that mean he was famous?
“Hey Brian, the show’s about to start!” A short guy with a Mohawk that I didn’t recognize appeared from around the corner before exiting onto the stage with a bass guitar.
Brian nodded and quickly looked back to me. “Please, watch the show tonight and then tomorrow I will tell you every-”
“Tomorrow?” I interrupted and raised my eyebrow at him. “I don’t think so Brian. The last time you promised me a tomorrow, you never came.”
“I know that, but I had my reasons. Yes, tomorrow. We can catch up. Make a date out of it. What do you say?”
Was I really going to buy into this BS?
I can’t believe I agreed to go out with him. I am such an idiot, falling for this guy’s lies twice. Why did I even bother with him in the first place?
Was it those beautiful eyes, or that gorgeous smile? There was something that attracted me to this man, but I wasn’t sure what, so I was going to use our ‘date’ tomorrow as a way to find out. I had to get my head on straight here and not fall for him all over. Otherwise he was just going to hurt me again. What was I going to do?
“Bri! Bri!” I heard someone call my name as I made my way back to the bar.
I spun around to see Angela tailing me from where I just came from. Had she been listening the whole time I was talking to Brian?
“What is it?” I questioned her with an eyebrow raised at the excitement on her face that I have never seen her show before.
“Do you even know who you were just talking to back there?” She asked, unable to keep still with whatever she was holding back. What did she know about Brian?
“Uh, his name’s Brian…” I said softly, hoping that it was the truth and not some name he had made up.
She nodded with her goofy grin spreading across her face. “Yes, but he also goes by the name Synyster Gates. Ever heard of him?”
Wait a minute…why did that name sound so familiar? Where had I heard that name? Before it could come to me full on, Angela told me the rest.
“The lead guitarist from Avenged Sevenfold…? Ring any bells?” She sang in anticipation. “Oh, come on! Please don’t tell me you’ve never heard of them!” She practically shouted at me without waiting for me to respond to her first question.
My eyes widened at the information. “A-Avenged-”
“Sevenfold, yes!” She jumped up and down in excitement. “I can’t believe I didn’t recognize him before on the night David hired you! What did he say? What were you guys talking about?” She rambled on with her interrogation.
I couldn’t believe what she was telling me. I had actually kissed the lead guitarist of the famous band A7X…and tomorrow, I was going on a date with him. The only thing I could focus my mind on was, ‘What am I going to wear?’
“Spill the beans girl!” She almost shouted, shaking my shoulders to get me back on this earth.
“I…he asked me out on a date.”

I spun around before looking at myself in the mirror, watching as the light from above sparkled against almost everything that I was wearing. Red was a really good color on me. I haven’t felt this beautiful in a long time.
“Girl, you look hot.” Angela swooned from sitting on the edge of her bed, giving me a look over. “See, I told you it would look great on you.”
I smiled. “Thanks again for letting me borrow your dress.”
“No problem. I can’t really wear it that often since it sort of blends in with my hair.” She giggled before standing to pass my heels over. “So when is he supposed to get here?”
“I told him to pick me up here at your apartment around 7.” I shrugged but then felt a knot in my stomach. “Why, what time is it? Is he late? What if he doesn’t show?”
She laughed and grabbed me by my shoulders to look me straight on. “Relax Bri. It’s only 6:40. Guys are usually never early and are almost always late. That doesn’t mean he isn’t going to show.”
I nodded and took a deep breath. “You’re right.”
Why was I getting so worked up? I have never been so nervous in my life, especially about some guy. I was never like this before any of my other dates, so why did my heart feel like it was going to beat straight out of my chest?
Suddenly my phone began to buzz from on top of her dresser and made me jump slightly before I basically ran to grab and answer it.
“Hi-hello?” I asked into the speaker, not even checking to see who was calling. I didn’t want to miss his call.
“Hey, Bri, it’s me.” Brian spoke. “I’m outside the apartment waiting- Well, that is, if I have the right address.” He chuckled. “Do you want me to come upstairs and meet you?”
“No, no. I’ll be down there in a moment.” I told him quickly, almost slurring my words. He agreed to wait there and we hung up.
“Wow, a guy that actually showed up, and early at that. That’s a first,” She pursed her lips, but then nodded. “And is a very good sign.”
I smiled, no, I was gleaming. He actually showed up. Why couldn’t I stop grinning like a fool? I barely knew this guy, yet here I was, about to go on a date with him. Ugh, why does he have to be so cute?
I quickly finished getting ready, with Angela’s help, and was out the door in a heartbeat, trying to act casual as I strolled down the stairs and out to Brian's nice, red convertible, which I was in awe with.
