The hostess showed us to our seats and the entire time all she did was stare at Brian. Not that I blame her but it was sort of rude. I’m like right next to him and this is supposed to be a date… I think.

”Wow, you must get a lot of attention like that.” I said as soon as she left.

”Yeah, it comes along with the work I do.” He smiled.

I was going to ask what he did but a part of me didn’t want to know. So I left that question unasked and started looking through the menu. There was so much to choose from. My heart was set on blueberry pancakes though. So when the waitress came to take our orders I was already ready to order.

”What can I get for you?”

”Blueberry pancakes.” We both said in unison.

”Okay, sounds good. I’ll bring your food when its ready.” She said and turned away.

I blushed, again.

”So you like blueberry pancakes and you’re gorgeous? Ahh, marry me now.” He smiled holding his hands over his heart.

”Oh stop it.” I laughed.

We sat there and talked more, once our food came and we talked about things we liked to do. Actually more like things I liked to do. He was so interested in everything I had to say. I got to admit it felt nice to actually be able to talk about my passions and what not. Most guys are complete assholes but Brian seems to be an exception. There’s definitely sparks here too. He makes me smile. That’s always a nice feeling in my case. Before I knew it though, we were running out of time cause it was already 11:30.

”I really hate to end this date but I have to go to work.” I said. Damn it, I said date... I wasn’t even sure this was an actual date.

”That’s fine with me, as long as I can take you out on another date Friday night.” He smiled.

So it was a date. I felt the butterflies in my stomach move about.

”Yeah!” I exclaimed. “Wait, I’m not too sure on how my schedule looks but I’ll let you know. Besides it’s not like you don’t know where I work. I’m sure I’ll see you in there sometime.” I smiled back at him.

”True. Well, go ahead. I’m going to go pay now and I’ll text you later.” He said as he got up.

”Thank you for breakfast Brian. I’ll talk to you later.” I smiled and waved as I exited the IHOP doors.

I got in my car and made my way to work. Today is my first day. I wonder if I’ll be making any tips today. That’d help me get started on saving for a place to stay rather then the hotel. I pulled into the parking lot and went inside.

”New girl, you came just in time. Lunch is about to start and one of my bartenders called out. So I need you to fill in for her at the bar. I’ll help you with the drinks. I also have a set of flashcards from one of the other bartenders to help you too. Make me proud.” Johnny said.

So I worked all day till about nine. At first I messed up a few times but it started to get easier throughout the day. Thankfully I made a lot of tips and people were very generous with the tips. All in all, I was happy with my job here and I needed to get some rest from this long day.

”You did good new girl. Come in tomorrow at 5.” Johnny said with a smile.

”I’ll see you tomorrow boss.” I smiled and waved.

I drove back to my hotel room and sprawled out on the bed. Then I pulled out a cigarette and decided to check my phone. Then I saw a text from Brian.

Hey gorgeous, I’m sure you’re working right now, but I wanna say thank you for coming to breakfast with me. And I hope your day was good.

Hey, yeah I just got off right now. So much work but it was good. And thank YOU for asking me too. :)I finished my cigarette and just laid there in bed. But before Brian replied I was already knocked out.
