The Wicked End

Introduction

My name is Alexis and I live in a world where the dead now walk the earth, and all of civilization has been wiped out as the world has come to an end. My four friends and I were left here to die, with no salvation and a reason to live but for each other. We were each alone in this world as our families were taken by the flesh eating zombies that invaded the earth.
Now we were joined together as best friends, on our way to a safe zone that is said to exist somewhere in Colorado. We are traveling there from south California and had a long way to go before we could feel safe again and go back to our normal lives. That is, if you considered for the dead to be most of the earth’s population as normal.
Along the way, we met five very interesting guys that were in our same situation. They too had lost their families and were trying to get to the safe zone, so when we tagged along in their tour bus, we may have gotten more than we bargained for when we started to fall for them. Now the girls and I each had a reason to live…love. Love had begun to find its way into all of our hearts and even saved our lives, bringing back the hope that had been gone long ago.
Though, something kept bothering me. Were we really going to be happy if we ever got to the safe zone, even with our friends and the ones we loved at our side? Or was it going to be just as miserable as it was in the outside world, beyond those concentrated walls, away from our homes and the ones we left behind? Even with love, were we ever going to be satisfied with what has become of us and this world?
I could only pray that I would wake up from this nightmare, this hell I lived in. To me, the real world had since long been gone and now I was living in a dream world that I would never wake up from. This is what was called Hell…and I lived in the middle of it.
