Making Enemies

Blake's P.O.V
“What do you mean you can’t find her?” I shouted at the guys over the band playing in the background of the fireworks show.

They all just shrugged at me, having as much of a clue as I did to knowing where Chelsea was. Of course she wouldn’t just go off and ditch us, so she must have lost us somewhere in this huge crowd of people.

I watched as I saw Cody shaking his head and laughing at something. I began to glare at him, already filled with exasperation. I was really losing my patience. “What the hell are you laughing at Cody?”

He shook his head again and continued to grin from ear to ear. He looked at the others and opened his palm out to them. “Well boys, a bet’s a bet. Cough it up.” He shook his fingers at them.

They all sighed or rolled their eyes, but eventually began to dig their wallets out of their pockets, each handing him a $20 bill. He laughed and bounced happily as he counted it all along with the rest of his own money.

I shook my head in disbelief. “I can’t believe you guys. Is that all you care about right now, your money?”

Will gasped and looked up with surprised eyes. “Of course not Blake. I care about Chelsea and want to find her just as much as you do.”

“Then why aren’t you all doing anything to help me find her?” I shrug, getting so tired with having to deal with all of their childness.

No wonder Chelsea felt the way she did all the time, having to deal with all of this. I would probably get sick of them too. I was almost to that point.

Kyle shook his head and almost scowled. “It’s not our fault that she wound up lost. It’s her responsibility to watch out for herself. She should have known better than to come with us.”

I sucked in a sharp breath at his words. “What are you saying?” I breathed out heavily. “I hope your just talking about tonight and not about the tour.” I could feel my anger begin to rise before he could even answer.

The look alone he was holding firmly in place told me exactly what I needed to know. I knew exactly how he felt about her now.

“Whatever, I’m just saying. She’s an adult. She can find her own way back home.” With that, he turned and began to walk away, probably back to the bus like the damn selfish, fatuous person he was.

He didn’t care about anyone other than himself. I couldn’t believe what he was saying. He didn’t want Chelsea to be here anymore. He was still angry about that kiss, the one that I would rather wish to have never known about than to have to think about at all.

Of course I was still disappointed in her about that, but at least I knew how to forgive her, unlike some people. I really don’t think she deserved any of the treatment she was getting, not from any of us. I just hope it wasn’t too late to tell her that I was sorry, and that all is forgiven. I don’t want her thinking that any of us hated her or was still angry, and aside from Kyle, none of us were.

I just hope she can find her way back to us before she has time to think over everything as pessimistically as she always does. I don’t want her changing her mind about the band or the tour.

Jimmy’s P.O.V
I kept my arms crossed as Matt showed her around our tour bus. It was our bus and I don’t know why the hell she was even on here. Matt had the audacity to even think about inviting her, not asking the rest of us if it was okay. It was our bus just as much as his. He may be the lead singer, our front man, but that does not mean he can go about thinking that he has the authority over us all, especially me.

I was the one out of all of us who wasn’t willing to deal with it and just take it like he was the boss. Yeah, sure, he did always plan out most of the things we did, stuff for our band like interviews and such, but that didn’t give him the right to order us around. I wasn’t willing to take that shit.

“Maybe you should try calling again. I’m sure they're just missing you by now.” I pretended not to smirk, but I wanted it obvious for her, hoping to ward her off. By the unsure glances she gave me, she could easily point out my sarcasm.

Matt had turned from having his back towards me. “Sure, that’s a good idea.” He smiled at her before giving me a small glare, which of course she didn't notice that. Typical. “After I show you around. How does that sound?” He asked her.

What? Are you serious?! What was he planning to do, have sex with her within the few minutes it would take to show her what a fucking bus looks like?! This was really starting to piss me off. I was on the very edge and my nerves were on end.

She gave him a small smile. “Uh, yeah sure. That sounds fine.”

I stood up straight. “Yeah, we’ll give you a tour. Follow me.” I flashed a grim smile at him before leading the way. I caught his annoyed look just in time.

“This is the bunk room,” I said, zooming right through and practically hauled ass to the end of the hall, just about opening the door to the back room. “And this is-”

“Wait just a minute Jimmy. Slow down.” Matt followed me and stopped just in front of his bunk.

I silently grunted and stood with my arms crossed once again. Why couldn’t he just let me get this over with already?

“This is where I sleep.” He pointed down at the very first bunk to the right and at the bottom. Mine was the one directly across from it on the left.

“Nice,” She smiled kindly at him. Yeah, I’m sure you are just picturing yourself in there with him right now.
I tried not to grimace and dwell on that thought.

“I actually sleep in the exact same one on my bus.” She beamed.

Wait a minute…

“Your bus?” I blurted without thinking. “You live on a tour bus too?”

They both seemed to look up at me in surprise at my sudden outburst. She hesitated for a second before answering. “Uh, yeah actually. I’m in band.”

Now it was my turn to look at her in surprise. “Seriously?” I asked, maybe a little too astonished. I never would have guessed in a million years that a girl that looked like her would be in a band. She looked way too girly for anything like it.

She nodded and actually smiled at my shock. “Yeah, we’ve been together for two years now.”

“Oh yeah, you never got to tell me what you guys are called.” Matt chimed in, happy to have the subject become light for once.

I think I was speechless at the moment. Let’s see how long that will last.

“Vanity Release.” She almost seemed to flush.

“What kind of name is that?” I asked, accidentally letting my thoughts slip from my mouth. I was thinking aloud now. I knew it wouldn’t last for very long.

She began to bite her bottom lip and looked down for a moment. “It has a special meaning behind it, for me at least. The guys seemed to like it, so we just went for it.” She slowly glanced back up at me with hurt eyes.

I didn’t mean to hurt her feelings, well not just then, but still. For some reason this look made my anger just melt away and my expression softened. She wasn’t doing anything right now that gave me any reason to be so harsh. I decided to give her a break and lighten up a bit. I just hope she doesn’t make me regret it…
