I woke up the next day in my comfortable bed and the events of the day before rushed into my head. Johnny had kissed me yesterday in private and then later that night in front of everyone I cared about.
I sat up straight as I realized that I'd have to deal with questions from everybody today. I groaned as I got out of bed. How was I supposed to explain that kiss? I mean, yes I was having feelings for Johnny and he had said he was getting them for me, but this was just moving to fast for me.
Only a week ago I had lived in Ireland with a family that couldn't care less about me. Now I was living in a beautiful house in Southern California and my favorite band ever had taken me in. And I had to add on that one of my idols had feelings for me? Things had to slow down or I wouldn't be able to handle it all.
I pulled on some pants and an old gray t-shirt I had brought with me. I brushed my hair, put it into a loose ponytail and then I was headed downstairs. I could smell something good before I even got to the kitchen. When I entered the room, I saw Val at the stove cooking bacon. I noticed that she already had a huge pile of it on the table along with toast, fruit and different kinds of jam.
Val looked over at me when I came in and she smiled. "Well good morning, sleepy head," she said. "How'd you sleep?"
I yawned. "Fine, I guess."
"Good. So, any dreams about Johnny?" Val asked as she piled the bacon onto the stack on the table.
My eyes widened. "Um...no? I mean...I don't remember?"
Val laughed as she poured the grease into a disposable container. "Don't worry about it, Eliza. I'm only messing with you."
I relaxed and sat down at the table. "Oh. Alright then," I said as I grabbed a piece of bacon.
"Yeah," she said. "We all had a talk with Johnny lastnight after he decided to kiss you. It seems like he really likes you, sweetie. But who wouldn't?"
"I think I like him too, Val. But my life is changing way too fast," I said. "I want it to slow down before anyhting happens between us."
Val nodded as she started packing everything up. "That was mentioned last night and he said he would tallk to you about it. Johnny isn't going to pressure you into anything you don't want to do, Ly-ly."
I smiled up at her. "Thank you, Val. And you better not let Jimmy hear you call me that."
She scoffed and waved a hand dismissively. "Oh please. He can't touch me. I can do what I want. Now, come help me get all this together. The guys have been at the studio since early this morning and you and I are going to bring them a nice hot breakfast."
I stood and helped Val pack away all the food. When it was all done, I ran upstairs to pull on some vans, change my shirt and check my hair. If I was going to see Johnny, I wanted to look somewhat nice.
When I came down the stairs, Val was standing beside the front door waiting for me. She rose an eyebrow at me. "You look nicer than you did. I'm guessing that has something to do with a certain short bassist?"
I shoved her playfully as we walked out to her car. "Hey, I did say that I like him."
Val smiled as she got into the driver's side. "That is true. There's nothing wrong with looking nice to make him look your way. Although, any guy would look your way. You have such a natural beauty, Eliza."
I blushed and looked down. "Thank you," I said.
Val had been so nice to me and all of the girls, except Leana, had complimented me on how pretty I was. It was new for me and I still didn't know how to accept their compliments. But I was learning.
We pulled up to a big blue building that I figured was the guys' studio. I helped Val carry all the food in and as soon as we walked in, I could hear Brian working on a solo and it sounded amazing. I followed Val until we were in the room with Brian and the rest of the guys. They saw us and Matt stood to take the food from his wife.
"Oh wow! Thanks, babe," he said as he kissed her.
Val smiled and held up what was in her hands. "I bring toast and fruit," she said.
I held up my plastic bowl also. "And I bring bacon!"
Jimmy stood up and came towarsd me with a smile. "Yay! Bacon!"
I laughed as he took it out of my hands and opened the container to take some out. "It's still warm!" he said as he put two pieces in his mouth.
"Slow down, Jimbo," Johnny said coming into the room. "Save some for the rest of us." He smiled when he saw me and I smiled back, aware that everyone was watching us.
A man came over to me and stuck his hand out for me to shake it. "Hey, I'm Fred."
I nodded. "I'm Eliza."
"I know," he said, smiling. "The guys haven't stopped talking about you. I'm surprised I'm just now meeting you."
"We wanted to keep her all to ourselves, Fred," Zack said as he took some bacon from Jimmy.
I laughed. "That's just selfish, Zacky."
Johnny came up to me and he wrapped an arm around my shoulders. "No. It's not selfish at all," he said then he leaned down close to my face. "Can we go somwhere and talk?"
I nodded and he lead me outside after throwing "We'll be right back!" over his shoulder to the guys.
As soon as we were outside, I leaned against the wall and Johnny stood in front of me but he was looking down at his feet. He seemed to be just as nervous as I was about this.
"What did you want to talk about, Johnny?" I asked mainly just to break this silence.
He looked up at me then he was suddenly kissing me. I was surprised but like I had when he had first done this, I relaxed and kissed him back. This one lasted longer and he had pulled me into his arms.
After Johnny pulled away from me, he looked down at my face. "I know I have already told you how I feel, but I want know how you feel about this, Eliza."
I sighed. "I have very strong feelings for you Johnny, but this is all moving way to fast for me to keep up."
He sat down in one of the chairs that was out there. "So there won't be an us?" he asked.
I sat down in the chair next to him and placed my hand over his. "Is that what you want, Johnny? For there to be an us?"
Johnny nodded then looked over at me with a sad face. "I do, Eliza. I care about you more than I have ever cared about anyone before. And I want to call you mine."
I smiled. "Well, how about this? I don't think that you and I should date right now. I want to be able to get settled into this new life first." Johnny's face fell but I grabbed his chin and gently pushed his face where he was looking at me. "But, I want you to know that I really do want there to be an us as well. But it's going to have to come later. Why don't we take it slow? Get to know one another before things go anywhere."
He smiled. "Yeah, that sounds good. And then we'll talk again?"
"Yes," I said, nodding. "But I'm not going anywhere so we will still see each other a lot."
Johnny stood and hugged me. "Good. Because I refuse to lose you."
I laughed and took his hand as we walked back into the studio. "You're not going to, I promise."

Yes I know, this chapter is short and I apologize but the next one will be longer. And now that I have WiFi at home, chapters on this and Double Trouble will be up a lot more frequently.
