Seize The Day

When I woke up I rolled over and looked at the clock it was 5:45am I sat up and stretched. I knew Cassy wouldn’t wake up for a couple of hours so I decided I would go for a run. I changed into a sports bra and basketball shorts. When I walked outside I was greeted by the light ocean breeze, I stretched on our porch and put my ear buds in. I ran for awhile until the sun was almost completely up. I stopped and walked for a bit back towards the house before I started to jog again. When I reached the house there were two cars out front one was Jimmy’s and the other I didn’t recognize.
When I walked into the house I was greeted by the smell of eggs and bacon. “Oh look who’s home.” Cassy said spinning around in the barstool. I looked up from my iPod to see the entire Avenged band in my house. Matt was cooking, Jimmy was sitting in the stool next to Cassy, Brian was leaning against the counter, and Johnny and Zacky were setting the table.
I heard a whistle and turned to see Brian looking at me with a stupid smirk on his face. “Hey Gates that’s my cousin.” Jimmy said looking at him.
Brian laughed lightly but continued to look my way; his whistle got all the other guys attention because now they were all looking at me. “Sorry boys she’s taken,” Cassy said sliding of the stool and walking towards me winking. They all looked at each other confused. Cassy came up and kissed me lightly, this wasn’t anything new for us we usually were confused for either sister or lesbians; she smacked my ass and turned and winked at the guys. They all stared dumb found. Cassy snickered “Go shower up babe, you smell like a dude.” She said wrinkling her nose and walking back to her seat. I shook my head and walked to my room and started the shower. I washed my hair and my body; I stepped out and walked back into my room to get clothes. Today was supposed to be my first day at the bar, but since I was only doing stock I figured I didn’t have to look super nice so I pulled out a pair of black shorts and a white tank top. After I got dressed I went back out to the kitchen to see all the guys grabbing plates and sitting at the table.
Matt offered me a plate; I thanked him and sat down next to Jimmy to eat. I had just started eating when my phone started to ring I looked at the ID and it said it was Johnny my new boss. I stood up and answered it. “Hey Kaylin just wanted to remind you that you start today and to get here around eleven.” Johnny said.
I looked at the clock on the stove I had a half hour. “Sure no problem Johnny I’ll be there soon.” I said, we said a quick goodbye and I hung up.
“Who’s Johnny again?” Cassy asked her mouth full of eggs.
“My boss,” I said I walked over and picked up my plate putting it on the island, “I have to go to work.” I said I kissed Cass’s head and picked up my keys and wallet from the table next to the door. “I should be home around two three at the latest.”
“Okay have fun at work babe!” Cassy yelled as I closed the door. Work was relatively easy all I had to do was count bottles and put them where they were supposed to go. When I was getting ready to leave Johnny stopped me and said done of his waitresses got sick and couldn’t come and asked if I would cover. I did and it went smoothly I worked in my uncle’s bar in New York during the summer so serving drunken assholes wasn’t anything new. I completely forgot to call Cassy and tell her I was working all night so when I left at two I had 30 missed calls and 100 texts from her and some of the guys.
I called her but she didn’t pick up, I should have figured she was sleeping. When I got home Cassy was asleep on the couch, I grabbed a blanket and threw it over here and walked into my room. I stripped down taking off my bra and sliding an oversized sweater over my head and fell asleep.
