Seize The Day

Aaron looked as shocked as I did. “What are you doing here?” I asked, Jimmy stopped spinning and looked at Aaron, and Zacky stood up.
Matt walked up behind Aaron. “Hey, guys this is our substitute guitar tech.” He said putting a hand on his shoulder. “He should only be here for today since Jason partied a little too hard last night.” His eyes landed on me and the shock on my face. “Kay what’s wrong?” He asked frowning.
“Nothing, Aaron and I are old friends.” I said stiffly this was awkward and I didn’t really want to be around him.
“Oh.” Matt said looking a bit confused. The door opened and Brian walked in.
“Oh not you again.” He whined looking at Aaron.
Matt looked even more confused. “You’ve met before?” He asked looking at Brian.
“Yeah he was over at Kays and Cassy’s last night.” Brian said giving Aaron a distasteful look. “So why is he here?”
“He’s you’re guitar tech.” I said forcing a smile. “Excuse me.” I said pushing past them to go outside. I had started to feel claustrophobic. When the door swung closed behind me I took a deep breath and leaned against the wall and closed my eyes. I heard the door open. I opened one eye to see Aaron. ‘Joy.’ I thought to myself as I pushed off the wall. “Yes?” I asked.
“What exactly is your problem?” he asked, he was obviously annoyed with me and everything else.
“Well sorry I’m not exactly thrilled that you have just waltzed back into my life.” I said putting my hands on my hips and facing him.
“And why not? We had a good thing Kay and you decided to end it, why?” He said crossing his arms. His brown eye met my blue ones.
My heart started to ache. We did have a good thing but suddenly he began to ignore me I wasn’t exactly stable when we were together he kept me relatively sane but then he started to act like I didn’t exist. It hit me hard it wasn’t until after I tried to kill myself did he try to act like nothing changed. He tried to see me but every time I asked the nurse to turn him away, once I was released from the hospital I told him it was over and I never wanted to see him again. “Yes what we had was great, but shit changes Aaron you hurt me.” I said
“And I tried to apologize but you refused to listen to me.” Aaron said crossing and uncrossing his arms.
“I loved you but you threw me to the side like I was nothing. You knew I wasn’t okay but you acted like you didn’t care.” I said looking down.
“You were still in high school and you tossed me off too so don’t act like this was all my fault.” Aaron said standing up straighter.
My mouth dropped open. “So what was I supposed to throw away my future to fucking please you?” I was livid and it took everything I was not to slap him.
“You tried and almost succeeded in throwing away your future your entire life!” He yelled,
“You seriously think I could forget that?” I yelled back. “See at least when I was ‘ignoring ‘you I would still occasionally text you or call you!” I shoved my finger into his chest. “But no you couldn’t be bothered to pick up a fucking phone or at least send me one fucking word response! I would see you and wave and you would keep walking so don’t act like you’re the damn victim because when you needed me I was there but when I needed you, you ran away like the little bitch princess that you are!” I yelled I was out of breath and I could feel the adrenaline running through my body. I had hid all of these emotions for three years and it felt so good to finally have real closure. Aaron looked shocked he just kept opening and closing his mouth.
The door opened and Matt was standing there. “Is everything okay out here?” He asked looking between Aaron and me.
“Yes everything is fine Matty.” I said leaning back against the wall. Aaron turned and walked away around the building. “Matt do you mind taking me home?” I asked I was suddenly tired and wanted nothing more than to sleep.
“I should tell the guys first.” Matt said turning to open the door.
“Please don’t I don’t feel like answering questions just take me home.” I begged, Matt grabbed my arm and led me to his car. We drove back to my house in silence, we pulled up to my house and Matt shut off the car.
“Do you want me to stay?” He asked concern filling his voice.
“No go finish that kick ass album of yours.” I said opening the door and rolling out of the car, I closed the door and leaned into the open window. “Thank you Matty, for everything.”
He smiled showing off his dimples. “No problem Kay.” He said as he started the car and pulled away. I pushed through my front door and collapsed on the couch. When I woke up it was 2AM and Zacky was in bed next me, I smiled and burring my face in his chest and went back to sleep.
