Double Trouble

Finally

*Jimmy's pov*

It had been a month since Brooke had given birth to our children and fallen in a coma. I was at her bedside now, stroking her cold hand.
God, I missed her. I missed her smile, her jokes, her gorgeous green eyes and I missed the way she looked at me most of all. She had never looked at me like I was a meal ticket like most of my past girlfriends had. She always looked at me with pure love; mirroring the love I had for her.
I had barely gotten any sleep, and when I did I tossed and turned, dreaming that she would never wake up. Most nights I just stayed awake in the nursery so I was always there when one or both of them woke up.
At only a month old, Amaya already looked like Brooke's mini-me. Damien had my eyes but Brooke's green eyes. I loved children, but it was so hard without the help of my wife.
Of course, I had the help of all the guys and their women, but it didn't compare to the love of a mother.

*Brooke's pov*
I stood by my husband's side as he sat by the hospital bed my body was wasting away on.
I tried to reach out to him but I could not. Being on this side looking out onto the other felt like looking through a thin sheet. I could see and hear everything (though not very clearly) but I couldn't touch any one on the other side of it. It was so frustrating!
"Jimmy," I tried to say to him like I had tried hundreds of times before, "I love you. Jimmy, I miss you and I'll come back. I promise. I want my babies."
I heard a noise at the door and both Jimmy and I looked up. My doctor was walking into the room with a sad look on his face. "Hello there, James. How're you doing today?"
Jimmy shrugged. "About the same as usual. My friend Brian and his girlfriend are watching the twins right now."
the doctor nodded. "That's probably for the best. I needed to speak to you alone and now is as good a time as any."
"What's up, doc?" Jimmy and I said at the same time. I smiled but it was wiped away when I remembered he couldn't hear me.
"we've taken some more tests," he said slowly. "Brooke's brainwaves are are at a bare minimum."
"What does that mean?" Jimmy said, the fear evident in his voice.
The other man sighed. "It means that any chance that she had of ever waking up, is gone."
Jimmy took a step back, his eyes wide. "But you said three months! You lied to me! You gave me hope!"
"I'm so very sorry, James. None of us were really sure about the time frame." He placed a comforting hand on Jimmy's shoulder. "I understand that this is very hard to hear. You should go home. Be with you friends and family. Hold tight to those babies. We will discuss the details at a later time".
I looked between them with wide eyes. This was unfair! Would I never get to hold my children?! I was supposed to die old and gray! Not in the prime of my life before I ever meet my babies.
I looked at my pale body on the bed. I had tried to enter it many tests before but I had always been told by my grandmother here on the other side that my body wasn't ready. Well, now it would never BE ready.
I walked over to the hospital bed and held my own hand. It seed like the only thing I could touch here was own body. I focused all of attention into getting back in. I needed to.
I held my hand flat over the corporeal hand on the bed and pushed. I pushed and I pushed.
Suddenly, my hand fell down. I felt connected again. I lloked down and sure enough, I was inside my hand. I tried to move my fingers and I saw the hand on the bed twitch. With a huge smile, I pushed even farther.
"No! Brooke, you must stop!"
I looked up to see my grandmother standing on the other side of my bed. She wasn't young like she had been the last few times I had seen her here. Now she was like I remembered her from my childhood. She was as short as me, only her back bent slightly, her gray hair showing old remnants of red hair and her green eyes as bright as ever. "Brooke, my darling, you cannot do this. There will be consequences."
I shook my head. I don't care. I want to live my life. I want to be with Jimmy and my babies. I miss matt, zack, johnny and brian. It's not fair that I have to die this young!"
She smiled at me sadly. "Life is not fair, Brookie."
"this isn't life!" I screamed as I pushed hard and fell into my body, my grandmother yelling after me.

*Jimmy's pov*
I collapsed into the chair after hearing the news. I would never get my Brookie back. My children would never know their mother. What was I supposed to do without her?
A small moan from behind me made both the doctor and I turn and stare. There's no way that came from Brooke. Then we saw her head move.
I jumped up and ran to her side, grasping her hand that folded around mine. I smiled wide and felt tears roll down my cheeks. "Brooke?" I said quietly and her green eyes flew open.
She looked around until her gaze fell on me and her eyebrows rose in confusion. "I'm sorry," she said in a hoarse voice. "But do I know you?"

Notes

Here you go giys. I know it's been a long time in the making and I said I was done, but it popped into my head.
I know it's short and it's crap but I had to write it on my phone. I hope you enjoy!
