“Brian fucking Haner!” Zoey screeched the next morning.

Groaning, Daphne picked her head up off Brian’s chest and looked to the door. Zoey was standing there fuming.

“Bri the ice princess is here,” she grumbled as she shook his shoulder.

“Who?” he mumbled without opening his eyes.

“Your wife!” Zoey spat.

Brian’s eyes snapped open as he shot up and looked over at Zoey.

“What the hell is going on?” Zoey yelled.

“We were just sleeping Zoey,” Brian muttered as he threw the covers off of him.

“Are you cheating on me with her?” she barked.

“No Zoey. I just slept in here, we’re just friends,” he sighed as he slowly got dressed.

“It doesn’t look like you’re just friends!” she yelled.

“Can you stop the God damn yelling? My daughter’s sleeping!” Daphne spat.

“Shut the fuck up you little bitch!” Zoey yelled.

“Stop it Zoey!” Brian snarled.

“Stay away from him!” Zoey spat at Daphne.

“He’s my best friend; I’m not staying away from him!” Daphne barked.

“Lets go Brian!” Zoey said through gritted teeth.

She sent Daphne one last glare before stomping out of the room.

“I’ll see you later Daph,” Brian smiled sadly as he followed Zoey out.

Daphne sighed and rubbed her temples to ease the headache she felt coming on.

“What was that about?” Matt yawned as he walked in.

“Zoey thinks Brian and I are sleeping together,” she sighed.

“Are you?” he asked quickly.

“Of course not!” she defended.

“Just making sure,” he mumbled.

“Did Zoey wake you and Jade up?” she asked.

“She woke me up; Jade was already up worrying about something,” he mumbled as he rubbed the back of his neck.

“She probably woke Misty up then,” she sighed.

As if on cue, they heard Misty run across the hall and into the room.

“Hi Uncle Matt!” she smiled as she hugged his legs.

“Hey squirt,” he smiled as he ruffled her hair.

“Hi mommy!” she smiled as she climbed onto the bed and onto Daphne’s lap.

“Hey baby,” Daphne smiled as she kissed her head.

“So what are we doing today?” Matt asked.

“We?” Daphne asked.

“Yes; we. We haven’t hung out since you came here and I refuse to let you go job searching today. So what are we doing?” he asked.

“The zoo!” Misty exclaimed.

“You want to go to the zoo?” Daphne asked.

Misty smiled and nodded.

“That works, I’ll go tell Jade,” Matt muttered as he walked out.

“Come on, lets get you ready,” Daphne smiled as she picked Misty up and carried her out.

After getting Misty and herself ready, Daphne walked into the bathroom to do her make-up. As she putting her eye shadow on, Jade barged in and slammed the door shut.

“What the hell Jade?”

“Sorry, but I really need to talk to you!”

“Was it necessary to scare the hell out of me?” Daphne laughed as she continued putting on her make-up.

“Its important,” Jade insisted.

“What’s up?” Daphne asked.

“Don’t freak out,” Jade started.

“What is it?”

“I’m-”

“You two ready?” Matt asked as he opened the door.

“Yeah, we’re ready,” Jade muttered.

“We’ll talk later,” Daphne muttered as she followed Matt out.

She grabbed Misty and they all piled into Matt’s truck. The thirty minute drive to the zoo was filled with small talk. As soon as they entered the zoo, Misty tugged on Matt’s hand and pulled him over to the leopards’ cage.

“Okay so what’s up?” Daphne asked as she turned to Jade.

Jade pulled her over to a bench further away from Matt.

“Promise you won’t tell Matt?” Jade asked.

“Of course,” Daphne nodded.

“I’m pregnant,” Jade blurted out after a few hesitant seconds.

“You are?” Daphne asked after comprehending what she was just told.

“I took three tests,” Jade muttered.

“Oh my God!” Daphne smiled as she tightly hugged Jade.

“What’s wrong though? You seem upset,” she muttered at Jade’s lack of enthusiasm.

“I’m happy, I really am. I’m just worried about how Matt’s going to take it,” Jade muttered as she bit her lip.

“What do you mean?”

“He says he wants to wait. I don’t want to wait though. I’m twenty-nine for God’s sake! I want to settle down but Matt has the band and all.”

“I know Matt; he’ll be ecstatic. He’ll be a great dad; you see how he is with Misty. You have nothing to worry about,” Daphne assured.

“You think so?” Jade smiled.

“I know so. I can’t believe you and Matt are having a baby!” Daphne smiled as she hugged Jade again.

“I know! I’m so happy Daph,” Jade smiled.

“What’s up with you two?” Matt asked as he and Misty approached them.

“Nothing,” Jade shrugged.

Daphne smirked at her; Jade winked at her in return.

“You two are so weird,” Matt muttered.

“Shut up! Now lets go see some more animals,” Jade smiled as she got up and led the way.

“So we need to talk,” Matt announced a few minutes later.

“About what?” Daphne asked.

“We’re going on tour,” he started.

“When?” she asked.

“Next week; its for two months.

“That’s a short notice.”

“It is what it is. Anyway, I was wondering if-”

“You want me to watch over the house and dogs. No problem,” Daphne shrugged, cutting him off.

“Wait, no! That’s not what I was going to ask.”

“Then what is it?”

“We want you and Misty to come with us,” he smiled.

“Wait, what?” she asked.

“You heard me. Come on Daph, it’ll be fun! Its only for two months,” Matt insisted.

“Matt Misty starts kindergarten at the end of the month and I still need to find a job,” Daphne sighed.

“I already worked that out. We need a merch girl and you can always enroll Misty when we come back in October. Jade and Sadie are going too,” he urged.

“I don’t know Matt,” she sighed.

“Come on Daph! I really don’t want to leave you two alone in the house anyway,” he sighed.

“Let me think about it,” she muttered.

“Fair enough,” he muttered.

Daphne went to reply, but her ringing cell-phone cut her off. Her eyes widened when Derek’s name flashed on the screen. After debating with herself for a few seconds, she finally flipped her phone open.

Daphne- …Hello?

Derek- Are you having fun at the zoo?

Daphne’s eyes widened as she quickly scanned the large crowd for any sign of Derek. She felt her heartbeat speed up and her breathing quickened. Derek’s humorless laugh broke her from her thoughts.

Daphne- H-how do you know we’re here?

Derek- Watch your back Daphne, I have people watching.

The line went dead before she could reply. Quickly making up her mind, she caught up with the others.

“Matt,” she muttered breathlessly.

“You okay?” Matt asked as he turned to her and saw a look of fear on her face.

“I’m fine,” she muttered as she continued to scan the crowd.

“Well what’s up?” he asked.

“I thought about it; we’re coming with you,” she said with a forced smile.
