“Matt, I need a light,” Daphne heard Jade whisper from her bedside.

“Damn it, where’s my lighter?” Matt spat, frustrated.

“Be quiet Uncle Matt; you’ll wake mommy!” Misty scolded.

“Found it!” Matt announced.

“What are you doing?” Daphne mumbled into her pillow.

“Open your eyes mommy!” Misty exclaimed.

Daphne hesitantly opened her eyes and rolled over towards them. Immediately, Matt, Jade and Misty broke out into an obnoxious version on Happy Birthday. Jade was holding a small, home-made birthday cake with lit candles on top.

“Thank you,” Daphne smiled after she blew her candles out.

“Happy birthday mommy!” Misty grinned.

“Thank you baby,” Daphne smiled and kissed her cheek.

“Happy birthday Daph,” Matt smiled as he tightly hugged her.

“Thanks Mattie,” she smiled.

“Happy birthday sis!” Jade grinned and tightly hugged her.

“Thanks sis,” she smiled.

“Open your present mommy!” Misty exclaimed as she placed a messily wrapped gift on her lap.

“I wrapped it!” she added.

“It looks beautiful,” Daphne laughed as she peeled away the wrapping paper.

She smiled lightly as she saw the scrapbook inside. The first page presented a picture of Daphne and Misty in the hospital when Misty was first born.

“How did you get all of these?” Daphne asked Jade as she flipped through the book.

“I went through your stuff,” Jade grinned innocently.

Daphne smiled as she went through the rest of the pictures. She stopped on one page when she noticed a picture of Jimmy holding Misty when she was only six weeks old. He had the biggest grin on his face as he delicately held her in his arms.

“Mommy, why are you crying?” Misty frowned.

Daphne didn’t even realize she was crying until she pawed at her eyes.

“I just love my present so much baby,” she smiled as she kissed Misty’s forehead.

She flipped through the rest of the pictures until she came to the last one which presented a picture of Misty, Brian and herself from Halloween. Brian and she were kissing Misty’s cheeks while Misty smiled at the camera.

“Thank you; I love it,” she smiled.

“You’re welcome sis. Come down when you’re ready, I’ll have breakfast done,” Jade smiled as she hugged her.

“I think you need to get ready for school baby,” Daphne suggested.

Misty nodded and hugged Daphne again before running out.

“You okay baby girl?” Matt asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine. The picture just surprised me,” she shrugged.

“She would’ve loved Jimmy,” he muttered.

“He was crazy about her as soon as he met her,” she smiled lightly.

“He would’ve loved having you two here,” he smiled.

“I know, I really regret not coming home more often,” she muttered.

“Its not your fault Daph, you didn’t know what was going to happen,” he told her.

“I better get ready for work,” she muttered, dropping it.

Matt sighed and nodded before walking out, shutting the door behind him. After Daphne took a shower, she got dressed and let her long hair flow down her back. She applied a little make up and made her way downstairs.

“Do you need a ride?” Jade asked once they finished eating.

“If you don’t mind,” Daphne nodded.

Jade shook her head and stood up to grab her keys.

“I can drive them babe,” Matt offered.

“Matt I’m perfectly capable of driving,” she sighed.

“I know, I just worry,” he shrugged.

“I know; I love you. I’ll be back soon,” she smiled as she pecked his lips and led the way out.

After saying goodbye to him, Daphne and Misty made their way out.

“I can’t believe you have to work on your birthday,” Jade muttered as she made her way to Misty’s school.

“Its money, so I’ll work whenever,” Daphne laughed.

When they arrived at Misty’s school, Daphne hopped out and walked her inside. After she kissed her goodbye, she walked back out and hopped into the truck.

“So what’s going on with you and Brian?” Jade asked as she drove off.

The question surprised Daphne; leaving her speechless.

“You really thought I didn’t notice the way you two look at each other?” Jade smirked.

Daphne let out an awkward laugh and tried avoiding the question.

“So spill, what’s going on?” Jade pressed.

“I don’t even know Jade,” Daphne sighed.

“He told me he loved me,” she continued. “I believe him and all, its just Zoey kind of ruins it. He’s still on the fence; I know he is. I feel really bad that Brian is admitting his feelings for me behind her back, but he can divorce her at any time. I just don’t know how much longer I can wait for him,” she muttered.

“You shouldn’t have to babe; he should know what he wants. Its obvious he wants you, but you have to understand that he’s been with Zoey for six years. Its going to be hard for him to give that up. I know he eventually will though, he loves you like crazy Daph. He’s just dragging this out because he has more respect for Zoey than to just divorce her out of the blue. You two are meant to be together Daph,” Jade smiled as she grasped Daphne’s hand.

“Thanks Jade,” Daphne smiled.

“So tell me, how’s Bri in bed? I’ve always been curious,” Jade giggled.

“Well I wouldn’t know, I haven’t slept with him,” Daphne shrugged.

“Damn it Daph, you have to! I need to know if he’s good in the sack,” Jade whined.

“Why do you need to know so badly?” Daphne laughed.

“I’m so horny and Matt won’t put out!” Jade confessed.

“Oh my God! I do not want to hear this!” Daphne shouted as she covered her eyes.

“No, listen! I can’t tell the rest of the girls because its embarrassing. I always brag about Matt’s sex drive to them and now I can’t! They’ll never let it go if they find out he won’t put out,” Jade pouted.

“Jade! I’m his sister for Christ’s sake!”

“I don’t care! Before Matt found out I was pregnant, he’d be coming onto me every night. We’d fuck every night and now he won’t touch me because he’s worried that he’ll hurt the baby!”

“I don’t want to hear this!” Daphne whined.

“Oh grow up! I know you heard us every night,” Jade laughed.

“I’m going to be sick,” Daphne gagged.

“I don’t know what to do Daph,” Jade whined.

“Tell Matt its okay for you two to…have sex. Derek asked my doctor while I was pregnant and she said it was perfectly safe. I can’t believe I’m talking about my brother’s sex life,” Daphne shuddered.

“Well I appreciate it babe. You might have to actually tell him yourself in case he doesn’t believe me!” Jade announced.

“No way Jade!” Daphne exclaimed.

“You’re living in my house, you owe me!” Jade accused.

“You’re really going to go there?” Daphne spat, narrowing her eyes.

“I’m desperate Daph!” Jade cried.

“Fine, I will talk to Matt and convince him to have… sex with you,” Daphne gagged.

“I love you!” Jade exclaimed as she pulled up in front of the salon.

“I hate you!” Daphne muttered.

“Liar,” Jade smiled as she leaned over and kissed her cheek.

“I’ll see you later,” Daphne laughed as she got out of the car.

“Alright, you’re done Jen,” Daphne smiled as she finished cutting and coloring a teenage girl’s hair.

“Thanks Daphne,” Jen smiled as she checked out her hair in the mirror.

“You’re welcome. Do you like it?” Daphne asked as she rung her up.

“I love it! Could you make me an appointment for next time?” Jen asked.

“Sure, I’ll pencil you in for a month from now. Sound good?” Daphne asked.

“Great,” Jen smiled.

“Alright I’ll see you then sweetheart,” Daphne smiled.

Once Jen left, Daphne walked back to her station and started sweeping the floor. As she leaned down to sweep the hair into the dustpan, her hair fell into her face, blocking her view. Sighing in frustration, she stood up and fixed her hair in the mirror. It was becoming way too long and unmanageable for her liking. Noticing that the salon was empty for the most part, she walked over to Maria’s station.

“What’s up birthday girl?” Maria smiled as she closed the magazine she was reading.

“Will you do my hair for me? Its getting unmanageable,” Daphne pouted.

“What do you want me to do?” Maria smiled as she stood up from the chair and grabbed a cape.

“Whatever you want; I trust you,” Daphne smiled.

“This is going to be fun,” Maria grinned.

“So what do you think?” Maria asked once she finally finished with Daphne’s hair.

She turned her chair around to face the mirror and watched Daphne’s expression.

“Oh my God I love it!” Daphne grinned.

She ran her fingers through her now short hair. Her hair was now down to right above her shoulders and Maria thinned it to make it more manageable.

“You look so different,” Maria laughed.

“I love it though. Thanks Maria,” Daphne smiled as she reached for her purse.

“Don’t you dare try to pay me, this one’s on the house for you’re birthday,” Maria smiled.

“Thanks again,” Daphne smiled as she hugged her.

“You know what girls, lets close early today,” Maria suggested.

“Its only two o’clock though,” Daphne pointed out.

“Its dead in here though. You get out of hear and pick up Misty. I’ll see ya later baby,” Maria smiled as she hugged her.

“Alright, I’ll see you tomorrow,” Daphne smiled as she made her way out.

She checked her phone after she texted Matt and noticed that she had an hour and fifteen minutes until she had to pick up Misty. Needing to kill time, she quickly made her way across the street to the nail salon for a quick manicure. After she got her nails done, she hailed down a cab and made it to Misty’s school with two minutes to spare.

“Hi mommy!” Misty smiled as she ran into Daphne’s awaiting arms.

“Hey baby!” Daphne grinned as she kissed her cheek.

“Where’s Uncle Matt?” Misty asked as they got into the cab.

“I got off work early so he doesn’t have to pick you up today,” Daphne shrugged.

“Did you cut your hair?” Misty asked.

“No, Zacky’s mom did. Do you like it?” Daphne asked.

Misty nodded and then started talking about her day.

“Lucas gave me a flower today,” Misty smiled as the cab pulled up in front of the house.

“Who’s Lucas?” Daphne asked as she paid the driver.

“My boyfriend,” Misty giggled.

“You’re boyfriend?” Daphne laughed.

“He told me he was my boyfriend,” Misty explained.

“Well I think I need to meet him. Are you going to marry him?” Daphne teased.

“I can’t get married mommy! Lucas doesn’t have enough money,” Misty frowned.

“You are so my child,” Daphne laughed as they made their way in the house.

“Surprise!”

Daphne yelped as the huge mob of people in the house yelled at her.

“Happy birthday baby!” Matt smiled.

“You guys threw me a party?” Daphne muttered, tears coming to her eyes.

“Oh don’t start crying, you should’ve expected it. Now go greet people,” Jade smiled as she linked her arm through Daphne’s.

“Thank you Matt,” Daphne smiled as she tightly hugged her brother.

“You’re welcome baby,” Matt smiled as he kissed her forehead.

“Tell him!” Jade whispered.

“Tell me what?” Matt asked.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Matt its safe to have sex while Jade is pregnant. My doctor told me it was safe when I was pregnant,” Daphne forced out.

“You told my sister about our sex life?” Matt asked Jade, incredulously.

“Well I walked in on the wrong conversation,” Daphne heard Brian mutter.

She smiled and turned around to face him.

“Hey Bri,” she smiled lightly.

“Hey Daph,” he smiled.

Daphne hadn’t seen Brian since their embrace on Halloween night. In fact, she had sort of been avoiding him.

“Happy birthday baby girl,” he smiled as he enclosed his arms around her waist.

Daphne smiled as he tightly held her against him. She wrapped her arms around his neck and melted into his embrace.

“Thanks Bri,” she smiled.

“I have a surprise for you,” he smiled as he reluctantly let her go.

“You didn’t have to get me anything,” she smiled.

“Well its not something I bought,” he smirked.

“Well what is it?” she asked, confused.

He smiled and grabbed her hand. He led her into the kitchen and Daphne’s eyes widened at the person sitting at the table.

“Miss me Daph?”
