August 2004
 
“Daphne Duck needs to wake the fuck up!” Jimmy yelled as he jumped on one of his best friend’s bed.
 
“Jimmy!” eighteen year old Daphne groaned.
 
“No, you need to wake up right now!” he demanded.
 
“Why?” she whined as she picked her head up off the pillow.
 
“Because we need to hang out before you leave me and never come back!” he pouted.
 
“Aw, Jimmy, don’t say that,” she cooed as she sat up and wrapped her arms around his neck.
 
Jimmy tightly hugged her and pressed a kiss to her forehead.
 
“I’ll definitely be back Jim-Jam! I’ll be here during the summer, maybe even Christmas,” she smiled lightly.
 
“But that’s a long way off!” he huffed.
 
“It’ll be okay Jimmy,” she smiled as she got off the bed.
 
She pulled Jimmy up with her and the two walked downstairs. She saw the rest of the guys sitting on the couches watching something on TV. She bounded over to Brian and plopped down on his lap. She stretched her legs out across her brother’s lap.
 
“Must you always use me as a foot stool?” Matt laughed.
 
“That’s what big brothers are for!” she grinned.
 
“So you’re not going to forget about us while you’re in New York right?” Brian smiled as he wrapped his arms around Daphne’s waist.
 
“I could never forget you guys; you guys are my best friends,” she smiled lightly.
 
“We’re really going to miss you Daph,” Zacky smiled over at her.
 
“I’ll miss you guys too,” she smiled.
 
“And we sure as hell are going to come visit you when we’re touring around New York!” Johnny smirked.
 
“Aw, really?” she smiled.
 
“Of course, we love you baby girl!” Brian smiled as he pressed a kiss to her cheek.
 
Daphne felt butterflies in her stomach as her cheeks tinted pink.
 
“Daphne’s blushing!” Jimmy cackled.
 
“Ain’t that cute?” Matt smirked.
 
“Shut up!” Daphne whined as she kicked her brother in the leg.
 
She grimaced and rubbed her aching foot.
 
“I think that hurt you worse than it hurt him,” Brian chuckled.
 
“Shut up,” she giggled as she whacked his chest.
 
 “Breakfast is done!” Daphne and Matt’s mom called from the kitchen.
 
Everyone scrambled from the living room and into the kitchen.
 
“I can’t believe you’re leaving today!” Kim Sanders whined as she tightly hugged her daughter.
 
“Mom I’ll be back!” Daphne laughed lightly.
 
“Its still hard to let you go,” Kim muttered on the verge of tears.
 
“You didn’t act like this when Matt moved out!” Daphne grumbled.
 
“What are you talking about? She cried her eyes out!” Matt laughed.
 
“At least she let you breathe!” Daphne retorted.
 
“Matt moved a couple streets away so it would be easier for the band to rehearse; you’re moving across the country!” Kim shrieked.
 
“Mom I’ll try to be back for Christmas; I promise,” Daphne smiled as she sat down to eat.
 
“So what are you going to do in New York once you get there?” Zacky asked.
 
“Settle down in my apartment and probably check the city out,” she shrugged.
 
“Be careful walking around. It’s a pretty big city,” Gary Sanders warned his daughter.
 
“I’ll be fine daddy,” Daphne smiled as she leaned over to kiss him on the cheek.
 
“How close is your apartment to the school?” Johnny asked.
 
“Its about six blocks away,” she told him.
 
“Why don’t you just stay in a dorm?” Jimmy asked.
 
“Because I don’t want to share a room with someone who can possibly be a serial killer,” she said in a duh tone.
 
“You know if people find out you’re Matt’s sister they’ll go crazy on you,” Brian smirked.
 
“I’m going to shout it to the world and I’m going to make people listen to your music so you guys have a bigger fan base,” she smiled.
 
“That’s my girl,” Matt smiled.
 
After they finished eating, Daphne walked upstairs and into the bathroom. After taking a long shower, she brushed her teeth and combed through her hair. She blow-dried it and sprayed in some hair-spray. She wrapped a towel around herself and walked across the hall into her bedroom. She grabbed the outfit she laid out last night and dropped her towel. She pulled her bra and shirt on and grabbed her panties.
 
“Nice ass,” a husky voice said.
 
Daphne gasped and spun around to see Brian standing in the doorway sporting his signature smirk.
 
“You’re a prick!” she spat as she pulled her panties and shorts on.
 
“Chill Daph; I was kidding,” he laughed as he sat on her bed.
 
Daphne smirked; deciding to tease him.
 
“So you don’t think I have a nice ass?” she pouted.
 
Brian’s eyes widened.
 
“Uh well, its uh…” he trailed off.
 
“Did I make the Synyster Gates stutter?” she smirked.
 
He glared at her.
 
“Come here you,” he smirked as he grabbed her around the waist.
 
He threw her on the bed and climbed on top of her.
 
“Say you’re sorry!” he demanded.
 
“Never,” she smirked.
 
“Fine; you asked for it,” he smirked as he started brutally tickling her.
 
“Stop it Bri!” she gasped.
 
“Say you’re sorry!” he smirked.
 
“Fine, I’m sorry!” she laughed.
 
“Now say that I’m super hot and you want to pull my clothes off with your teeth,” he smirked.
 
“Sounds tempting,” she thought.
 
“As if,” she scoffed.
 
“Say it,” he coaxed as he tickled her sides.
 
“Fine; you’re super hot and I want to pull your clothes off with my teeth,” she muttered.
 
“Louder!” he smirked as he continued ticking her.
 
“You’re super hot and I want to pull your clothes off with my teeth!” she shouted as she laughed.
 
“Sounds kinky!” they heard Jimmy yell from downstairs.
 
“Stay away from my sister Haner!” Matt yelled.
 
“Great now Matt wants to kill me,” Brian huffed as he climbed off of Daphne.
 
“That’s your own fault,” Daphne giggled as she rested her head on his chest.
 
“I’m really going to miss you Daph,” he muttered as he wrapped his arm around her waist.
 
“I’ll miss you too Bri,” she muttered sadly.
 
They laid there in silence for a few minutes until Daphne’s dad interrupted them.
 
“Daphne we have to get going; you’ll miss your flight!” he called.
 
Daphne sighed and reluctantly let go of Brian.
 
“Where’s your bags?” he muttered.
 
“Matt and our dad put them in the car last night. Its just my carry-on bag,” she muttered as she grabbed her purse.
 
Brian nodded and grabbed her bag. He followed her downstairs and they walked outside. He put her bag in her parents’ car before silently climbing into Matt’s truck. Daphne sighed and got in the back of her parents’ car. The ride to the airport was agonizingly silent. Daphne blew out a sigh of relief when they pulled up to the airport. All the guys grabbed her multiple suitcases and led the way inside. Daphne linked arms with her mom and they followed them inside. The guys sent her suitcases through the baggage claim and Daphne solemnly turned to her mom.
 
“Daphne,” Kim whined as she tightly hugged her.
 
“I love you momma,” Daphne muttered, blinking back her tears.
 
“I love you too Daphne. God I’m going to miss you,” Kim muttered as she hugged her even tighter.
 
“I’ll be back; I promise,” Daphne smiled.
 
“I know baby, I know,” Kim smiled as she kissed Daphne’s cheek.
 
Daphne smiled sadly at her mom before moving on to her dad.
 
“I’ll miss you daddy,” she muttered as she hugged him.
 
“I’ll miss you too baby girl. You have to call us everyday; promise?” he smiled.
 
“I promise daddy,” she laughed.
 
“Alright, I love you so much baby. I’m proud of you,” he smiled as he kissed her forehead.
 
“I love you too,” she smiled as she kissed his cheek.
 
As she turned to the guys, Jimmy quickly strode over to her and enveloped her in his long arms. He lifted her up and hugged her as tightly as possible.
 
“Jimmy I need to breathe!” she gasped.
 
“You’re not leaving me!” he shouted.
 
“I’ll be back Jim; I promise!” she smiled as she kissed his cheek.
 
“You better come back, I love you Daphne Duck!” he smiled as he kissed the top of her head.
 
“I love you too,” she smiled.
 
“I’ll miss you Zacky!” Daphne pouted as Zacky tightly hugged her.
 
“I’ll miss you more baby. We’ll see you soon though; we have a tour coming up,” he grinned.
 
“I can’t wait. I love you Zack,” she smiled as she kissed his cheek.
 
“I love you too Daphne,” he smiled.
 
“Bye Short Shit!” Daphne smirked as she tightly hugged Johnny.
 
“You’re shorter than I am!” he laughed.
 
“Shut up! God I’ll miss you Johnny!” she whined.
 
“I’ll miss you too Daph. Good luck, and be careful,” he pleaded.
 
“I will, I love you Johnny,” she smiled as she kissed his cheek.
 
“Love you too,” he smiled.
 
She smiled at him once more before letting go of him. It was harder to hold back her tears when she faced her best friend.
 
“Mattie,” she whined as he tightly hugged her.
 
“Please be careful Daph,” he muttered.
 
“I will Matt. I’ll miss you,” she whispered.
 
“I’ll miss you too baby girl. I’ll call you everyday and make sure you call me when you get to your apartment,” he pleaded.
 
“I will,” she smiled.
 
“Alright, I love you sis,” he smiled as he kissed her forehead.
 
“I love you Mattie,” she smiled.
 
After reluctantly letting go of Matt, she turned to Brian.
 
“Bye Bri,” she muttered sadly as she threw her arms around his neck.
 
“I love you Daph,” he muttered as he tightly held her to him.
 
“I love you too,” she muttered, her voice cracking.
 
She couldn’t hold back her tears when he whispered the next five words.
 
“Please come back to me.”

September 2004
 
Six weeks later on a Friday night, Daphne was walking through the streets of New York City. It was about eight o’clock and she was walking home from work. After going to her classes and serving people at a little diner, she was exhausted. All she wanted to do was get home and crawl into bed. As she rounded a corner, she accidentally bumped into somebody’s chest.
 
“I’m sorry,” she apologized as she looked up.
 
The man that stood over her repulsed her. He looked dirty and he smelled terrible. She could also tell that he was higher than a kite.
 
“That’s okay beautiful,” he smirked.
 
She rolled her eyes and stepped past him.
 
“Hey, where are you going?” he asked as he followed her.
 
“Home,” she muttered.
 
“Mind if I walk you?” he asked.
 
“I actually do mind, so goodnight!” she spat.
 
“What’s your name?” he asked.
 
Daphne ignored him and picked up her pace.
 
“Hey, I’m talking to you!” he spat.
 
Again, she ignored him.
 
“Answer me when I’m talking to you!” he growled as he grabbed her arm and spun her around.
 
She gasped and looked up at him; fear evident in her grey eyes.
 
“Hey! Let her go!” a voice snarled from behind him.
 
“Stay out of this prick!” the guy spat, tightening his grip on her arm.
 
“I said let her go!” the voice barked.
 
The guy holding her was pulled away from her and shoved into the wall of the building they were standing next to. His eyes widened as he looked at her rescuer.
 
“Oh hey Derek,” he muttered.
 
“How dare you touch her!” Derek spat.
 
“Sorry man, I-I didn’t know you knew her,” the guy stuttered.
 
Daphne quirked an eyebrow as she noticed him trembling under Derek’s cold glare.
 
“Get the hell out of here!” Derek spat.
 
The guy immediately ran off. Derek turned to Daphne and she got a good look at him. He was quite attractive with his tan skin and dark eyes. He had black hair that was gelled back and he was very muscular and tall.
 
“Are you okay?” he asked.
 
“Yeah, I’m fine. Was he a friend of yours?” she asked.
 
“Hardly; he’s just some scumbag I know,” he shrugged.
 
“Well thank you for scaring him off,” she smiled lightly.
 
“No problem. I’m Derek by the way,” he smiled as he held out his hand.
 
“Daphne,” she smiled as she shook his hand.
 
“I’m sorry about him by the way; he’s high ninety percent of the time,” he spat.
 
“You shouldn’t have to apologize for him. Uh, do you mind walking me home? It would really suck if I ran into him again,” she laughed lightly.
 
“I don’t mind. I don’t think he’ll ever bother you again after tonight though,” he smirked as they started walking.
 
“You’re pretty intimidating then huh?” she asked.
 
“Only when I’m pissed off I guess. Excuse my language, but I’m really not someone you want to fuck with,” he laughed.
 
Daphne laughed with him, loving his bluntness.
 
“So why is a pretty girl like you walking these streets at night alone?” he asked.
 
“I was coming home from work, I’m a waitress,” she shrugged.
 
“Just starting out then huh?” he asked.
 
“Yeah, pretty much. I’m only eighteen and I’ve only been here for about six weeks. I moved here from California to go to cosmetology school,” she told him.
 
“Do you like it here so far?” he asked.
 
“I love it! So what about you?” she asked curiously.
 
“I’m twenty two and I’ve lived here in the city my whole life. School never was the thing for me so I work,” he shrugged.
 
“What do you do?” she asked.
 
“I’m…a businessman,” he muttered, hesitantly.
 
She nodded, dropping the subject.
 
“Well this is me,” she muttered as they approached her complex.
 
“It was great meeting you,” he smiled.
 
“You too, thanks again for everything,” she smiled as she walked up the steps.
 
“Hey Daphne?” he called before she walked inside.
 
“Yeah?” she asked as she turned around.
 
“Do you have anything planned for tonight?” he asked.
 
“No, I was just going to order some pizza,” she shrugged.
 
“How about I take you out to eat?” he smiled.
 
She grinned and nodded. She took his outstretched hand and the two walked off into the night. The entire time she was with Derek, Daphne didn’t think once about the man she left behind in California.

Yay, new story!
I'm in love and sort of obsessed Avenged Sevenfold so I wanted to do a Syn Gates fan-fiction!
So the first and second chapters are going to be memories.
Now I kind of hate myself for this, but Jimmy will not be alive in the story.
So I understand if ya'll don't want to read the story because of it.
