Watch Your Heart

Third Person POV*

There was no avoiding what was going to happen on this day. In fact, Ben had been planning this day for quite some time now. Johnny was no doubt in a murderous rage, ready to take back the mother of his children. Liv was at wits end, frantically praying for a better solution than the bloodbath that was about to ensue. She knew what Ben wanted to do, and she was terrified.

As strange as it seems, Liv never liked to hurt anyone. Yet, ironically, she was running with the most lethal gangs in Orange County. She was always just the brains behind the operation. Kylie and Shay always did the dirty work while Liv made sure nothing went wrong. She never liked inflicting pain on others unless they truly deserved it.

She finally came to realize, Ben didn't deserve it.

All the pain and agony everyone's gone through, every excruciating second of it, was her fault. You see, Ben and Liv go back quite a ways. All the way to high school in fact. Back to when they were Benjamin and Olivia, not Ben and Liv.

It was their Freshman year. Two social outcasts confided in each other for a friend. Or in Benjamin's case, a lover. But Olivia never saw him as a partner, only as her best friend. She loved him, and he loved her. But, he loved her in a way that she could never truly return.

Benjamin longed for her to love him as much as he did her. She was vibrant, so full of beauty. She was radiant. Olivia was his sun as he was the moon. She brought light into his cloudy world.

Fast forward to Junior year, Benjamin's love had only grown stronger and much more compulsive. Olivia had meet Kylie, and became Liv. She had still yet to see how deep his love was for her, but Kylie knew, and she would be damned before she let him take away her only friend.

Benjamin hated Kylie. He saw her as the weed that would kill the beautiful rose that was Liv. And he tried to warn Liv about Kylie, but it only angered her. She shut him out. She told him she wanted nothing to do with him ever again.

Those words still haunt him to this day.

The beautiful, brown haired, pale blue eyed, angel that would surely send him to madness had sworn him away. His only happiness, the one thing that kept him going, hated him.

Benjamin had become a shell of a man. His only purpose was to make Liv the happiest person alive. To love her forever and ever. He felt like a failure. The only thing that kept him going was the thought of her coming back to him.

Senior year, Benjamin, who was now Ben, had met Danny and James. They found a shattered human being and tried their damnedest to make him whole once more. They knew about his undying love for Liv, and pushed him to pursue her.

But, now Shay was in the picture. Ben thought that Kylie was bad, Shay was worse. She brainwashed his precious Liv to think of him as dirt. Shay was an evil, vindictive, controlling bitch; and she had to go.

Shay didn't let Ben, or his friends, anywhere near Liv. She or Kylie never left Liv's side. Ben's slow descent to insanity had become visibly noticeable. He failed all his classes, he rarely ate, and never slept. He spent his time writing thousands of unsent love poems to Liv. He could never capture how unconditional his love was for her. It wasn't physical, sexual, or even emotional. Ben loved Liv on a spiritual level. Her aura was pure and unforgiving. So unforgiving that she would destroy him without lifting a finger.

She rejected his love, and made it known that she wouldn't care less if he dropped dead right in front of her. Danny and James tried so hard to make things better for Ben, but in that moment he'd decided. If he can't have her, nobody can. And anybody who tried to take her away would pay indefinitely.

Ben ruthlessly murdered Liv's family, and killed Shay too. That night in the ally he was to shoot Kylie a million times, for every second she kept Liv away. But his plans were cut short. Someone had snatched the two away.

Avenged Sevenfold.

He would have to kill them too, and he would not stop until he finally got his beautiful queen.

All of those horrible thoughts were playing over and over again as Ben sat in front of Liv. She'd stopped fighting against him and accepted her fate, and cried softly as Ben stroked her warm, soft face.

"Benny, I'm sorry." She whimpered.

Ben felt his heart tear upon hearing the pet name, that she'd given him so many years ago, come across her lips once more.

"It's too late for sorry."

"I'm still sorry.."

"Shut up!" He screamed in her face. "All those years, all those fucking years, and I still love you like life loves death! I've always loved you. But you never loved me back, not the way I did. Those fucking bitches stole you from me. Shay got what was coming to her, and so will Kylie. But you, Olivia, will never get what you deserve. You never will because I'll never stop loving you. Why I've been cursed for my heart to beat for you, I don't know, but I do know that I will kill and kill and kill until you finally know the pain I've felt and will feel for the rest of my life!"

Liv was speechless. It finally dawned on her why Ben was always so protective and needy towards her. She always thought he saw her as a little sister, and was adamant to not letting her have fun because he was afraid she'd get hurt. All the boys he scared off and the shady people he swore he'd kill if they touched her wasn't out of fear. It was out of jealousy.

"Oh Benny.." She trailed off. "I..I had no idea you felt that way about me. I was always so confused as to why you'd force me to stay away from other guys. I never knew why you hated me. Until now. I'm sorry."

He stared blankly at her. "I said, it's too late for sorry."

A loud bang sounded through the house. He looked into her eyes and smiled sadistically.

"You belong to me. You belong to me, and I will never let you go."

He set the key to the chains he locking Liv up in just out of her reach , and placed duct tape over her mouth.

"You stay here and play your part, dear. I'm off to take what's mine."

As Ben walked away, he couldn't contain his excitement. His heart swelled upon hearing Liv's muffled screams drowned out by the sound of flying bullets and fist fighting.

Johnny kicked the back door wide open, but to his surprise, nobody was there to fight him. Erin and Zacky seemed confused, but started to put the explosives in place anyways. As Johnny walked around the house he noticed the sound of fighting had stopped, and the house was empty. But he disregarded that and continued to look for Liv. Slowly walking up the stairs, he could hear her muffled cries and ran to the room it was coming from.

The door was wide open and the room smelled absolutely rotten. Liv was chained to a metal pipe above her head the key was in front of her legs. As soon as she saw Johnny walk through the doors, she screamed uncontrollably.

Johnny ran to her and unlocked the chains, causing Liv to immediately stand up and rip off the duct tape and scream.

"It's a trap! Where's Kylie! Where's our babies!"

Johnny grabbed Liv, knowing that the adrenaline she was running on would soon wear off; causing the pain from her stab wound to overwhelm her.

"Woah babe, calm down." He hushed her. "They're safe at home with Kylie."

She screamed and ran out the room and downstairs, where everyone was crowded in confusion.

"There was only security guards." Matt trailed off.

"It was barely a fight!" Jimmy whined.

"At least Kylie's not missing any action." Erin joked.

Liv screamed, "You idiots! Get in the fucking car!"

"Liv what the fuck is wrong with you?!" Johnny angrily shouted storming down the stairs, turning the safety on his loaded gun, on.

"They're at the fucking house!"

Then they were off.

After 5 minutes, the AA house was nothing but a pile of rubble and everyone was back at the Avenged house. Everyone shoved and pushed to get inside and into the nursery but Liv and Brian were the first ones. No one knew what was going on but the blood curdling screams and cries of agony from the two sent them all into mass panic.

Upon entering the nursery they were confronted with three things. The first, two empty cribs and the second, a blood-stained note. But even knowing that her children were gone, what was the most painful was the third.

Poor, poor Kylie Stanier. Many can argue she had lived a lifetime in her 24 years, and others can say she was barely getting started. But we can all agree she had left far too soon.

The third was, Kylie. Face down in a pool of her own blood. She was dead.

As Brian screamed and cried, craddling his girlfriend's body, Liv shakily picked up the notes and began to read.

By the time you read this, I'll be beyond saving. It may seem my time had been cut short but I wasn't going to live much longer. I had stage 4 stomach cancer. I want you all to know that I am in a better place now, and I love you all. Avenged, I'd like to thank you for making me and Liv the happiest girls alive. Brian, baby, I love you with all my heart and I want you to move on and find happiness. And Liv, you are my best friend. I can't thank you enough for not ignoring me the day I tried talking to you. You gave me the best years of my life. I'm sorry I couldn't protect the twins, but I heard where they're taking them. Somewhere in Upstate New York. They are safe, but in Ben's possession.

The family that had been built was just shattered. Numerous hearts were broken. LIv was numb, Brian felt dead inside, everyone was sobbing. Nobody knew what to do, except one thing.
