Chapter 24
Matt’s P.O.V
Liv was pretty lively lately since her surgery and Jimmy was of course his normal self since he could not sit still for very long. But even though everything was fine and everyone seemed really happy… Erin seemed off and not only myself but Kylie could tell that she was different.
“Hey… you think Erin is okay?” Kylie asked coming downstairs as I watched Erin in the
kitchen picking at her food.
“I don’t know she has been completely off from her usual self… it started a few hours after the surgery” I told her and she just walked over to Zack who was on the couch gaming and she grabbed the controller out of his hand and then she threw it to Johnny and grabbed Zack.
“So we were talking about Erin… was there anything that happened during the surgery that could have caused her to… be off like she is?” Kylie asked him and everyone peeked into the kitchen again.
“I mean there was a lot going on in that room, she almost lost Liv, took on giving her jolts while massaging her heart… may be a lot for her to bare” I heard Zack say and did a double take hearing the word jolts leave his mouth.
“Woah woah woah…. She didn’t wear anything to protect herself?” I asked and Kylie just sat there in awe and she shook her head and then Zack realized what he said.
“So you think that is what is causing it?” Zack asked and Brian came up to me and smiled.
“So what are we gonna do tonight for Jimmy’s birthday?” He asked and I literally knew what Jimmy would want to do and that would be to drink… but since he couldn’t I had no ideas. But Jimmy came down hearing what we were saying and he smiled.
“I SAY….. WE ARE GONNA PLAY BOARD GAMES ALL NIGHT!” He yelled and it echoed through the house and I looked over to find that Erin was getting up and she walked past all of us and ran upstairs. I followed her up the stairs and nearly startled her, he jumped and then sighed leaning up against the wall.
“My god you fucking scared the living shit out of me” She said and I leaned into her and rubbed her hair.
“You have been really on edge lately… are you okay?” I asked her and she took a deep breath and nodded.
“Yeah.. just been a lot of stress and so much going on that I have just been jumpy” She said… I guess she didn’t realize that Zack witness her taking the shocks.
“Are you sure because stress usually just makes you grumpy… you are just off” I said and she just groaned and walked into the bathroom slamming the door in my face. I heard Johnny come up the stairs to check on Liv and he smiled.
“Tonight is gonna be fun huh?” He said grabbing my shoulder but I just walked away growling at Erin shutting me out like that.
Erin’s P.O.V
I slammed the door in Matt’s face and started shaking so I leaned into the door and sank down onto the cool tile trying to compose myself for the fact that we were celebrating Jimmy’s birthday tonight. I felt my phone buzz and saw a text from a blocked number.
*You gotta be more careful… taking those jolts… can tear your brain apart…* I sat there and re-read the text but just put the phone down to take another breath, suddenly there was a knock and when I opened the door it was Kylie.
“E let me in” She said and I just stuttered a little bit.
“N-not Kylie” I said and she sighed loudly through the door.
“If you do not open this door right now I am gonna go down and find somebody to break it down… so its either me.. or everyone” She said giving me an ultimatum and I let her in not wanting any more attention. She sank to the floor examining me.
“Dammit E… we need you… how could you fucking be so careless of your own life… who would be there to take care of Jimmy? To deliver Liv’s baby… I mean honestly E… don’t you EVER be that stupid again!” She said and I just threw my arms up giving in.
“And besides… Matt would die if you did… that man loves you” She said and I just shook my head.
“No he doesn’t, we like each other and he is hot.. but he wouldn’t ever love a girl like me
Kylie” I said to her and she started laughing loudly.
“Have you gone completely cuckoo? He adores you… he loves you and everyone can fucking see it! Now get down here and spend the evening with Jimmy!” She said pulling me up making me realize tonight was about Jimmy. When we got down there the magical night of board games started and literally Liv and Jimmy were having a blast despite the surgery, I walked into the kitchen taking in some of the plates used for cake and Matt came in and I turned around and my heart was racing… too fast… my hands were jittery.
“Erin?” He asked coming closer and I took a step and stumbled… blacking out.
