Waters Ablaze

Bessie

Chapter 3

Our shared home was alive with music, energy drinks, junk food, video games, and my boys running round with water guns with me caught in the middle.

We all could not sleep last night, so as soon as we got home we started dragging our luggage out of the attic. Waiting for Wesley to come home with our beloved Red Bull and candy. It really did not have to take him so long to get our stuff.

It was now nearing 6 am, and we were still going, well kind of. We were told that the other band would arrive at our place around 7 am. One of them had gotten my cell phone number and proceeded to text me starting at 3am, letting me know of all the details. But I could not get them to tell me who it was, and when I called, they just ignored it. When they told me they would arrive about 7am but we did not have to be on the road until 10 to give us all extra time to finish getting ready and acquainted with everyone I invited to breakfast.

I had already showered, made sure the guys were all awake and had not slipped into a sugar coma. Hearing poor Sean stumble down the stairs I took out fresh pack of eggs, milk, turkey bacon and pancake mix. My boys could eat, and I would assume the other mystery bad could as well. I was determined to make a feast.

“Good morning!” Sean was too happy for his own good He was in the living room assuming others were there. “Where is everyone?”

“Kitchen!” I yelled back laughing to myself. Mixing the batter for the pancakes since they would take the longest, I felt his arms around my shoulders.

“Hallo, love.” His fake British accent always made me smile.

“Hello, dear.” Turning my head I pecked him o the cheek.

“Yummy, food. You know I love your cooking.” He gave me his bright smile.

“I know you do, make a pot of coffee please. The other band will be here soon.”
Leaving the mix alone for a minute I walked to the front door, unlocked it, I was not afraid of someone trying to break in this house with all of us here. Then walked to the living room and turned on the stereo.

Walking back into the kitchen I saw that all the boys were in here already, and helping out. Vince and Aron were arguing over how to set the table. Sean was working on the coffee, still. Wesley had taken over the stove, working on the turkey bacon and eggs. These guys were my family. I had always thought I could never feel any form of love again, but they always seemed to make me feel my heart expand for them.

Deciding to let them all have at it, I grabbed my camera on the shelf next to me and snapped a few pictures. Our home pictures, non posed, were going into our CD booklet. This would be one of them. Hearing a soft knocking on the door, I noticed non of the boys heard it. This could be good. Smiling to myself, I walked over to the front door and opened. Boy was I shocked.

“What are you guys doing here?”

There on my front doorstep were the guys of Avenged Sevenfold. Behind them was an enormous silver tour bus. Their bus. With black windows. Were going on tour with them. I wanted to scream for joy. I could not hold it. I screamed. They laughed at me, my boys came running.

“Nix, what happened?” Wes reached me first and grabbed me from the door as Aron, Sean and Vince stood in front of the barley opened door to block me.

“Um, Wes. I think you should look at the door, man.”

“Ya, I don’t think she was in trouble.”

“No she was screaming for joy.”

Each one of them voiced their idea, as the guest on the porch started laughing. Staring me in the eyes, I smiled at him and shook my head. Seeing I was unhurt he stepped aside.

“Well, shit.”

Walking over, I pulled the door open and pushed my boys out of the way. It was rude to stand inside while they were on the porch. I swear sometimes they had no manners.

“Come on in, breakfast is cooking.”

“Shit!” Before I could ask Wes took off to the kitchen. I hope he didn’t burn it all.

“Just follow where he ran to and have a seat. Coffee should be done so help yourselves.” Emphasizing on the word ‘should’ as I glared at Sean, he just smirked at me and nodded.

“Nice pj’s.” Shadows stood next to the door as I closed it. Smirking at me. What did he mean by that?

“Huh?” Looking down, I was barefoot, and a big tissue t shirt. It was about a 3X. I had cut the neck off so it covered one shoulder and hung very low on my arm and chest. The end stopped mid thigh. If I was to reach upwards, the bottom of my ass would peek out.

“Go on in the kitchen, I need shorts.” Smiling at him, I darted up stairs to my room and grabbed a pair of sleep shorts with skulls on them. Seeing my reflection in my dresser mirror, I was blushing. That was odd. Why was I blushing? I was not allowed to blush. It meant I was having feelings for someone besides my guys. I never allowed anyone in my shell. My boys were an exception, they helped me up when I was dragging so low to the ground.

“OYNIX!”

Shit, food. I need food. Shaking my head, I pushed aside the small matter and walked down to the kitchen to see everyone had taken a seat. This feeling came up on me from the pit of my stomach. I knew this feeling, I did not like it. I was the only female in the house with nine other males. My heart was beating fast. I felt sweaty, dizzy. I was scared.

“Nix, babe. Are you okay?” Wes stared at me with concern, Looking him in the eyes he stood up and walked over to me. Cupping my face in his hands, he whispered to me, his voice soothing.

“Just breathe, slowly.” Locking eyes with him, I had not noticed that Aron, Vince and Sean were now standing around us, forming a small circle.

“Guys, is she okay?” I do not know who that was, I know it was one of the guests.

“Ya, just give her a second.” Vince had spoken, not moving his eyes.
After what seemed like hours, I felt his hands move. Grabbing my hand he pulled me slowly to the table.

“Breathe, babe. Were all here.” Smiling at him, my savior, I took a seat next to him with Jimmy on my other side. That may have been a bad idea. I could see him squirming in his chair, looking at me. I think he wanted a hug. Laughing out loud I threw my arms around his shoulders as he squealed like a little girl and hugged me back.

“I got a hug.” He teased to no one in particular as we released each other.

“Hi guys. Sorry about that. Dig in, while the food’s still warm.” Smiling at everyone I felt eyes on me. Looking across from my seat, there sat Shadows. Smiling at him, I beamed like a happy kid on Christmas morning. His look of concern turned to amused as he laughed at me.

Breakfast was, interesting to say. Filled with a pancake faces from both Jimmy and Vince, I nearly chocked on my turkey bacon. A small food fight between Syn, Johnny, Zacky, Aron and Sean. Till I told them they could clean up the table and dished, they returned to their meals like behaved little children. I think Wesley, Shadows and myself were the only behaved ones. For now.

Within two hours, we were al ready to pack up on the bus and head out. How were 10 people going to fit on this bus for 5 months comfortably. Along with the girlfriends of the ones who had them? This bus better be deceiving in looks. I was told that it had a little recording studio. That got my attention.

“Shit, I forgot my book.” Running back up to my room, I ran in hoping to find my lyric book. I had new material I wanted to work on while on the road. Enough for 3 new albums. My boys were already on the bus calling dibs on beds. Fuckers better leave me a good one.

“Shit, where the fuck is it.” Tearing open my night stand, I did not hear the heavy thump of someone come in my room. Moving my pillows, I crawled over my bed to the other night stand, on all fours. That looked appealing I’m sure.

Hearing a soft wolf whistle I gasped and threw myself on my ass to look at the perpetrator. Fucking Shadows.

“Yes, may I help you?” I smirked at him.

“Thought I come help you look for your book. Jimmy and Johnny are downstairs looking around. Though they don’t even know what to look for. I think they just wanna be nosy.” Chuckling to his friends, he leaned on the door frame.

“Basic spiral notebook, purple cover, silver marker drawings on the front. It could be anywhere. I give you permission to look in the dresser also.” I don’t know why I had said that, I barley let anyone but Wesley in my room. What kind of mojo is he working on me? Maybe he’s a demon form another world, he does have a cynical laugh. Thinking to myself as I left my legs on my bed and threw my arms on the floor to look under it.

Hum, let’s see. Aron’s kidnapped GI Joe’s. A sling shot I took from Vince. A metal baseball bat. My shotgun. What? Don’t judge me, I like to be safe in my own home. I have a revolver in a night stand as well. Along with a .22 in my dresser. Shit, the same dresser Shadows was looking through. It was in my underware drawer. Shit that’s the top drawer. The first one he grabbed. Falling off the bed in a huff I saw him moving aside my delicates. Peeking over the top of my mattress, I saw his reflection in the mirror as he stopped mid move. Did he find my racy panties? Or my home alone protector? Looking up at me throught the mirror.

Yep, he found my gun.

“Is this loaded?” He stared at me, hard and cold.

Nodding my head, I could not find my words. His face softened and he smiled. Well that was good. I was afraid he would use it.

“Well, I cant blame you this day and age for not wanting to protect yourself.” He smiled as he closed the drawer, after he picked it up. He put the safety on. I breathed a sigh of relief. I was a little scared, but I did have my hand on my shotgun, that lay under my bed.

“This is perfect for your size. Small, lightweight. Wouldn’t want you getting hurt.” Was he trying to say I could not handle a gun? Laughing to him, I slowly pulled my beloved out to where he could not see it.

“Your right it is perfect for me, but so is this.” Pulling out Bessie, I lifted it up in my arms. Perfectly held.

“Whoa, how many more do you have?” he seemed shocked. I was only protecting myself. My boys, our lives. We all a weapon of some sort in our rooms. I just had a few more.

“There is one more.” I felt I could trust him, this was not right. I barley know this guy. Why do I feel I can trust him. Staring at him, he put my hand gun back in its place, and I moved Bessie back under my bed.

“What are you protecting yourself from exactly?”

“Bad people that try to come after me.” Catching a glimmer of something under my nightstand, my book. I snatched it and stood up.

“Lets hit the road.”

“After you.” He motioned me to walk out first. Being a gentlemen or a perv? Glad I had a switch blade hooked on my bra between my breast...
