Life As We Know It
New Beginnings
Vanessa's POV *
Today we were finalizing the papers to our new house. Zacky and I had searched everywhere till we found the perfect place to raise our child. We found a 3 bedroom house not too far from Val and Matt's house. It was single story but had a huge backyard acompanied by a swimming pool. Zack insisted we get one with a swimming pool so we could have BBQ's and swim days. So I agreed. It would be nice to have everyone come over and enjoy watching our kid grow up together. Tomorrow we get to officially move in. I couldn't wait. I began walking around our new house. I wanted to get an idea of where I would put everything. So many ideas and so little space to use all of them. So I had to rethink of what I could do with the new place.
Zacky said him and the guys were going to spend all day tomorrow moving things in, so I had to wait to see how he put things before I go ahead and rearrange them. Besides, I wanted to do some baby shopping. Val threw me a huge baby shower. I have so many things that I don't even need to buy anything, but more is better than none. Plus I read that children in their first year grow so fast that you have to constantly buy clothes. Thank God Zack and I have been saving since we got back together.
Zack's been his happiest lately knowing that any day he's going to be able to hold his baby in his arms. I was just happy that I didn't have to walk around looking like a huge oompa loompa anymore. I can barely walk 4 steps before I feel all tired. I haven't been able to see my feet in months, but they won't let me forget they are there because they are constantly hurting. Oh, the beauty of being pregnant.
In all honesty, I was my happiest too though. Ever since Zack and I got back together after Brian's and Michelle's wedding, we have been doing great. The guys didn't have any tours for a while so me and Zack spent loads of time together. He's even read more baby books than I have. Which is amazing to know that he knows what he's doing. Every now and then we'd watch his sister Zina's kids too. We were trying to get to know the feeling of having to be careful around kids and sadly Zina's children were our test subjects. She doesn't mind it though. Her and her husband get to go out more often. But what made me feel even closer to Zack was watching how he interacted with his niece and nephew. He was like a big kid. It reminded me of when we were younger.
"I can't believe we are finally moving into our own place together." Zack said as he came up behind me and kissed me.
"I know. But its not like we needed the 2 apartments. You were always at my apartment." I laughed at him.
"Well I like your place better than mine." He said.
"Well now this is our place." I smiled and gave him a kiss.
We both walked into the room we had decided on for the baby. Any week now, the baby will be born. These past 9 months have been crazy. My stomach is huge as hell. I don't even remember the last time I was able to see my feet but that soon would end too. Since I started showing around 4 months Zack has rubbed my belly every night before we sleep. He's even sang to it. Zacky has an amazing voice so I'm sure the baby loves him already. I know I love him like crazy.
"Come on babe. Lets go finish packing our stuff." Zack said as we began walking out of the room.
Tomorrow I'm leaving my small apartment to live in the house my child will grow up in, cry in, have nightmares in and so much more. I couldn't believe even though its happening. Who would've thought that back when I was in high school, this is where I would be today. I smiled and went out the front door to our new house holding Zacky's hand. New beginnings upon us.
