Matt grinned devilishly and knocked on the door of Athena’s twin sister, Ruby. Brian, Zacky, Johnny, and Jimmy all stood next to the door on each side, ready to attack once she opened the door. The door opened and Ruby came face to face with her sister’s ex.
“Ruby.” Matt grinned.
She gasped and tried to run but was knocked over the head by the end of Zacky’s bat. Jimmy caught her before she hit the ground. They invited themselves inside, locking the door behind them.
“Check the last call.” He ordered.
Brian and Johnny took her cell phone and checked who the last person she was talking too was. It was Athena.
“Stupid girl put her address in here too.” Brian chuckled, tossing Matt the phone.
“Grab her, let’s go.” Matt ordered then shoved the phone in his pocket.
As the loaded everything into their private jet, Matt couldn’t help but show a genuine dimpled smile.
“I’m getting At back.”
Athena woke up around three and quickly got to work. She severed drinks to all sorts of people. Tall people that reminded her of Jimmy, Short people that reminded her of Johnny, green eyed people that reminded her of Zacky, there was even a man who wore a fedora which reminded her of Brian. But even all the guys with muscles could never compare to Matt.
“Athens, can I talk to you?” Bret asked.
She nodded and hopped over the counter to walk into his office.
“Sup Bret?” She questioned, taking a seat on the ripped leather couch.
“Have you talked to Ruby?” He asked.
Athena nodded, “Yup she’s coming up for Easter.”
“Okay, I’ll tell you what. You can a whole two weeks off if you let me take you out to dinner.” Bret grinned.
Athena was a bit hesitant but agreed, “Okay.”
“How about tonight? I’ll pick you up around six and we’ll go out to eat at this fancy Italian place.” Bret’s smile never fell once during his plans.
Athena nodded, “I’ll see you then.”
Bret kissed her check then let her go back to working. Athena couldn’t help but feel something was wrong in the pit of her stomach. She grabbed her phone and quickly sent Ruby a text.
To: Ruby
From: Athens Hey, are you okay? I just have this weird feeling in my stomach.
To: Athens
From: Ruby Yeah, I’m fine.
To: Ruby
From: Athens Okay. Hey, I’m going out to some restaurant tonight with Bret. Wish me luck! ;D
She waited a few minutes but there was never a respond so she figured Ruby fell asleep or something. Athena didn’t worry about her sister as much after she got the text, but she could still felt like something was wrong. All she could hope was that tonight would go fine.
“Maybe it’s time to move on.” She sighed and poured a shot of JD.
“Ruby.” Matt grinned.
