Athena woke up feeling a bit stronger but she was still weak. Matt wasn’t in the room and the door was unlocked. Weakly Athena slid off the bed and stumbled to the door. She used the wall as support to get to Zacky. He was wide awake by now.

“Athena! Are you okay?” He exclaimed once she got into the room.

“Fine. How are you.” She snapped.

Zacky ignored it and spoke, “Athena what happened?”

“You were shot.” She answered leaning against the counter after locking the door.

“Not me! You! What happened to you?”

She winched, “Ask Shadows.”

“He didn’t.” Zacky tried to sit up.

“He did.” Athena growled and tried her best to stand up.

“Come here.” Zacky waved her over to him.

She limped over and nearly collapsed on the bed. Zacky ignored the pain in his arm and hugged her.

“It will wear off in a few. I’m so sorry.” He apologized.

Athena shook her head, “It’s not your fault. It’s that meat headed idiot’s fault.”

Zacky chuckled softly, “It’s just how he is.”

“No, he was a normal guy years ago. Now look at him. He’s not even a person anymore, he’s a monster.”

“Here. Lay down, you need to.” Zacky scooted over trying to avoid hurting himself even more.

Athena didn’t even care if he was naked, she crawled in next to him. Zacky helped her out of her clothes so she was just in her underclothes to make her more comfortable. Soothingly he rubbed her shoulder until she slowly began to pass out.

But before she passed out he whispered, “Thank you.”

“For what?” Her reply came.

“For saving my life.” He kissed her forehead then let her fall asleep.

“Have you seen At?” Matt stormed into the room where Jimmy and Ruby were.

“No, we haven’t. What have you done now?” Ruby snapped.

“Don’t get snippy with me bitch.” Matt growled.

“Hey! Don’t talk to her like that.” Jimmy stood up in front of Ruby.

“I’ll talk to her however I want.” Matt growled.

“Ruby stay here.” Jimmy ordered then grabbed Matt and walked out of the room.

They searched all over the house, there wasn’t a trace of her anywhere. Matt walked past the room that Zacky was in to hear light snores. Matt opened the door and his hands balled up into fists when he saw Athena and Zacky.

“Matt.” Jimmy tried to stop him.

Matt shoved past Jimmy and stormed over to Zacky and Athena, throwing the blanket off of them. The way they looked didn’t make the situation any better. Zacky slowly opened his eyes and was shocked to see Matt angrily staring down at him.

“You’ll pay for this Vengeance. You‘ll fucking rue the day you were born.” Matt growled.
