That One Thing
Erin’s P.O.V
The past two days since the huge fight with Brian were interesting to say the least and I spent most of my time trying to avoid getting upset again which meant avoiding my husband. I was lying down with a massive headache when Matt came in and lied himself over my legs and smiled.
“We are gonna have a huge family dinner since it is the 4th of July and we are gonna
have some fun outside, Hannah sent me up here to tell you to pick out your cutest outfit and head downstairs” He said and I just lied there not wanting to even move and Matt grabbed my hand off my face.
“Get your tiny ass out of the bed and stop moping around E, you and Bri both need to just fucking let go today and blow shit up outside, maybe even start planning your wedding party” Matt said and I just rolled my eyes and lightly punched him lifting myself from the bed.
“Good girl, see you down there” Matt said, damn him and Hannah for being the same person! I sat there rummaging through the clothes that I had brought here and ran to take a shower after finding the perfect outfit and after I left my hair down and a little wavy and did my makeup and threw my clothes on heading downstairs. When I heard everyone laughing outside I walked out only to be dipped by a laughing Zack.
“With that outfit are you sure that you aren’t my wife” He said smiling and Brian came over picking me up.
“SHE IS ALL MINE!!!” He yelled running towards the lake but I dropped myself out of my arms and into the grass but he couldn’t stop so he went head first into the lake and then popped his head out and laughed yet stared me down.
“Oh you are so going to pay for that!” He said lunging out of the water and he ran out at me and chased me around and I jumped on Jimmy and stuck my tongue out at him. He and the guys sat there passing drinks around while Hannah and I lied on a blanket in the grass soaking up the sun.
“So you wanna help me start thinking about that wedding party?” I asked her and she just lit up and grabbed running some of her wedding planning stuff and sat back down, we sat there flipping through the pages and she stopped on some of the cakes and stuff and I just laughed.
“Girl there is no need for a cake at this party!” I said to her and she just rolled over glaring at me.
“E come on, you two go married in normal clothes by Papa Gates and you had no reception and nothing special for it, not to mention I am sure that the press and fans of Avenged Sevenfold are confused and this a big deal for Brian, he has mentioned stuff like this when I was just starting and I know he wants this public and official” Hannah said and when it came to planning her wedding or any wedding type details with me… she was serious and I could tell that she just wanted me to be happy.
“How is it that you always end up getting your way!” I said and kissed her gently and quickly and she just laughed.
“Because I am the queen!!!! Now tell me what kind of dress are you planning on wearing?” She said and I just realized that I was gonna have to wear a dress and I kinda freaked out and didn’t know what to say.
“I didn’t know I had to wear a dress” I said and Hannah grabbed her magazine with the bridal gowns and she went through this page full of long satin gowns and they were all so beautiful and simple.
“Well see these I don’t mind but I want something backless because you know I love showing my back” I said and she just wiggled her eyebrows and I lightly slapped her arm. We sat there just flipping through the pages while the guys were smoking and making food and I was going completely nuts with this and had no idea how Hannah has dealt with the craziness of planning. I was lying there in the sun taking a break when Brian blocked the sun with his arms behind his back like he was hiding something.
“Hey baby” I said rubbing his leg and he walked to the side and sat down next to Hannah and I and handed me this blue and black book that looked almost like Hannahs.
“What is this?” I asked him and opened it and it was a planning book and the first page had my old two rings tapped in there and we had the picture of us in there and he had it designed and everything and I just started tearing up and it was just so thoughtful and so sweet.
“You could have told me how much you wanted to do this Bri” I said rubbing his cheek
and he just sighed and kissed my forehead with his hand on the back of my head.
“You wanna do some planning with me before dinner?” He asked and I just smiled and nodded.
Brian’s P.O.V
I grabbed Erin’s hand and took her inside getting some quiet time with her and we sat there for a little bit just talking about how we wanted to party to be in general and what we wanted to include in it.
“I want this to at least have us being introduced as husband and wife, and us be dressed like we just got married and share this with family and friends, I want to cut the cake with you and have a first dance and just fully start out life together as Mr. and Mrs. Haner” I said and Erin stopped what she was doing and she looked like she was terrified of the thought of walking in with all those people there and being the center of attention. I leaned in putting my forehead to the side of her head and breathed in.
“Whats the matter Erin, please talk to me, I know things are tense with us but now you seem afraid” I asked.
“I am just worried to find out how many people will be at this party since you are a rockstar and I am sure that you will have people from work and people that I haven’t met there, it is just so many people and I am not used to being the center of attention” She said turning her head to me.
“You will be wonderful Erin, I love you and you love me and we need to just focus on the beauty of this and celebrating us” I said to her and she just smiled and it made me happy knowing the thought of us was what put a smile on her face.
“So if I have to wear this fancy dress does that mean that you are gonna wear a tux for me??” She asked and we both started laughing and I just nodded. We continued to flip through the pages of magazines trying to figure out the all-around color scheme for the party and about 20 minutes later we took a break for dinner.
“So when is this huge party gonna take place?” Johnny asked of course because he always liked a good party.
“Probably sooner rather than later, we have been married for a little while now and I just want to get the public fully settled with this, but Johnny boy this is not something that you can get shit faced at and end up throwing up all the long island iced teas that you decided to drink” I said and everyone almost choked up in laughter and I am sure the guys remembered those days.
“We need to have one full on crazy night with the girls where we can just 100% let loose like the band used to!” Matt said and Jimmy and Johnny just got all excited like little puppy dogs.
“Hannah and I could fucking drink you all under the table!” Erin said and she and Hannah were almost challenging us.
“Alright ladies if you can outdrink Johnny than you can each pick out your dream object
and we will buy it for you but I am telling you… ya cant win against him!” I said and Erin and Hannah were excited.
“We may look small… but Erin and I have soooo many hidden talents when it comes to drinking” Hannah said which sounded a little intriguing.
“I enjoy body shots! They are the shit!” Erin said… Jesus fucking Christ we get to the drinking subject and they shock us all.
“Anyways back to their party, who are you going to invite? And will there be cake?” Zack asked and I just laughed.
“Duh there will be cake! And probably the studio guys, Larry, family and friends of ours” I said and they just smiled and we started eating and it was silent for a little while because everyone valued eating more than anything. But suddenly Erin looked down at her phone and she got up and walked out of the room and I wasn’t sure what the hell was going on.
Erin’s P.O.V
We had spent a lot of the evening eating and talking party stuff and finally when we were all winding down before doing the fireworks my phone started buzzing constantly and when I looked down it was Gena and so I got up letting go of Brian’s hand and walked into the room to answer.
“My love you should always pick up when I call” Gena said and I just rubbed my head.
“I don’t know why you two are so set on ruining the guys lives” I said to her and she just laughed.
“That’s what happens when you betray the two people who opened you two up to a whole new life that helped you realize your feelings for your precious Hannah, you get the consequences” Gena said and while I hated her for this she was actually right that we had to deal with the consequences.
“Alright what exactly do you want from us? I don’t know what you want me to do to make it up to you” I said to her.
“Well maybe we can meet for some drinks when you come back and you can explain to me how you forgot all about our time together, make it up to me a little bit” Gena said…. To do it… or to not do it.
“Gena I don’t know…” I said and paused and just thought to myself for a moment wondering whether or not talking to her and trying to at least calm the situation down would work.
“Fine, let’s do Friday of next week and we can talk about this, should I bring Hannah?” I asked.
“Val will talk to her when she is ready but you and I are gonna sit down and talk alone, ta ta for now E” She said and the line went dead. I walked back to the dining room and sat down taking a huge drink and looked around at everyone.
“What was that all about?” Matt asked.
“That was Gena, she wants to meet me for drinks next week so we can figure this out” I said and Brian just stared at me…
“Well what did you say” Jimmy asked.
“I said that I would” I said and Brian just scoffed and moved his arm away.
“Right.. now you wanna share stuff with me” He said and everyone just shot their gaze to him and I just glared at him and he looked at me and shrugged.
“Would you rather I hid it from you and just went to the meeting without you fucking
knowing?” I asked him rhetorically of course and I could tell by his body language that he was still livid inside.
“I DIDN’T BUILD THIS LIFE FOR US FOR YOU TO FUCKING TEAR IT DOWN!” He shouted and I jumped in my seat but I was completely livid and pissed off and I slammed both of my hands down on the table and grabbed a jacket and walked outside to breath… this was not how I wanted our marriage to be.
