Brian’s P.O.V

Hannah was a little uptight since the lady in the cafeteria didn’t want her to pay for the ice cream and she made it known to everyone that she was in no state of mind to be a charity case. Hannah was shoving ice cream in her face and I sat there with my forehead on Erin’s hand as she slept and I heard her breathing change and she stirred.

“I smell… ice cream” She said quietly still not pushing her voice and her eyebrows raised and Hannah for the first time since being admitted started laughing and handed Erin the ice cream and Erin handed it to me and I put some in her mouth.

“This is too plain… I need something… more” She said with her eyes closed still resting and everyone sat there confused and Erin squeezed my hand and wiggled her eyebrows up and down and smiled and I just laughed and kinda cried at the same time. I leaned forward and put some ice cream on my lips and kissed her deeply.

“Awe dude not here!” Johnny said loudly and Erin and Hannah both flipped him off and as soon as I pulled away Brent walked in smiling at the two girls and Erin motioned for him to come over and he stood there looking her over making sure nothing was wrong.

“Psst… the nurse… is totally into you… so much… she forgot to give me my pain medication, a little help?” She asked and Brent just busted out laughing walking over grabbing a syringe and entering into her IV and Erin took a deep breath as she felt it enter her blood stream.

“That should hold you for a little while Erin, how are you ladies doing?” He asked both of them and they were so high… I don’t think that there was a doubt in the world that they were content at the moment. I pulled Brent out as the girls started going into their funny little world and figured now was the time to see if he got me what I asked for earlier today.

“Did you get it?” I asked him and he nodded handing me over the package and I just smiled and patted his shoulder roughly.

“Thanks for this, just double checking we are sure that everything is alright with the girls? Erin isn’t gonna start bleeding out again is she?” I asked and Brent just gave me a huge brotherly hug.

“She will recover just fine Brian you really have nothing to worry about, she is strong and believe me she honestly took forever to fall under anesthesia so she is a fighter… she wanted to be awake when we pulled out the bullet but… she fell asleep. Hannah is also alright and despite the conception issues I think she will walk faster than people think.. now I gotta get back to my rounds… sure you cant tell me more about that package?” He asked and I just laughed and shook my head.

“Soon… but let me deal with this my own way first and then I will come to you after” I said smiling and walking back into the room and Erin was completely happy and she was beaming a huge smile and I sat there fiddling around in my pocket and Matt walked up to me folding his arms across his chest.

“Alright… so you better fucking spill it right now… you both are hiding something and I want to know what the fuck is going on” Matt said and Erin sat there with her hand against her mouth and laughing and I just walked over to her and rubbed her hand and gave her a serious look and she just shook her head.

“No” She said and I raised my eyebrow and just opened my mouth and she punched my arm causing my father to laugh and shake his head no at me.

“Brian Haner Jr. I swear to fucking god that if you fucking say it right now while I am stuck in this fucking room I will make your life a living hell!” Erin said… well isn’t she Ms. Cocky all doped up on those pain killers. My father stood up and walked over to me and sat me down.

“Matt right now is not the time… later on when we take the girls home I swear that you will get all the information but right now… I want to focus on getting these two out… I am pretty sure they are actually in danger, I saw men lurking around watching the room and such” My father said and I looked at Erin and she sighed.

“I saw them before they put me under… time to go” She said and I called in Brent who of course understood the situation. There were actually men that I spotted just while talking to him. I figured that we could fake a code blue and distract while actually faking the girls being rushed off and making out with them.

“We got this” Brent said.. he was always there to help and between the guys, Brent and my father it worked. The men went and moved down the hall checking the room as the girls were lugged out in two different directions to different rooms and frantically went with my father and Erin and after we were sent out I was startled by Erin’s power as she got out of the bed.

“What the fuck?!” I yelled trying to get her to relax.

Erin’s P.O.V

Of course Brian was in pure confusion with the fact that I was getting up but Brent came in making sure that I was good.

“Well I see that the adrenaline helped, just watch the stitches and avoid the elevators use the back stairwell and run across the back where Johnny and Jimmy are waiting for you and Erin I believe that Brian has something of yours and this is for you” Brent said handing me my gun as I changed and I noticed Brian staring at me and I smiled and kissed him and grabbed what he wanted to give me… that made me even stronger.

“I love you, now let’s get the hell out of here!” I said cocking the gun and putting it in the back of my jeans, he lead the way and I saw Hannah being wheeled through the other way and I cleared the hallway and went down the stairs and I pushed Brian faster hearing shouting from above and just as Hannah and Matt got into the car we jumped in the open trunk and pulled it down and Jimmy drove off as the men shot at the SUV.

“Well hello there superwoman” Hannah said and I smiled and reached my right hand up holding hers and leaned against the side of the seat. The ride home felt like forever and I was wiped out.. Matt was about to take Hannah upstairs.

“Wait” I said while Papa Gates and Brian were helping me inside and they both just stared at me.

“Hannah.. Matt we gotta talk about something” I said and Papa Gates… AND… Brian just stared at me wondering if now was the time giving the circumstances. Hannah nudged Matt and I pulled my arms from Brian and his father and just looked at Hannah and she was trying to find what was going on with me.

“I know I am wrong for hiding stuff from everyone… and especially from you… because just like Brian you mean the world to me and I would never want anything to happen to either of you.. and I nearly died knowing what Sarah and her men did to you.. but there is something bigger that I hid from you” I said with my hands now fidgeting behind my back. Brian was trying so hard to keep his mouth shut and while I knew it was good to come out with this… it was hard to take in giving the complicated yet loving relationship Hannah and I had going…

“Bigger than being shot?” She asked raising her eyebrows laughing and thinking that I wasn’t serious but I was very serious about this.

“Now you are just worrying me E” She said and I came down to her level knowing that I wanted to look her right in the eyes when I said this to her and Brian rubbed my back.

“A lot has happened between you and I… you are my partner and my lover and you will always be a part of me and you know that… we are always gonna be what we are so I hope you can accept this… in the hour or so that I was with Brian and his father… Papa Gates…. He did something for me” I said and Hannah just sat there biting at her fingernail while Matt sat on the couch and I just sighed and my heart was racing…

“I married Brian in the hour that we were MIA with Papa Gates… he married us” I said placing my left hand softly on her knee showing her the two rings… the package and Brians hands came in front of him with his band… and Hannah… well I couldn’t tell how she was taking this…
