The Beach
I woke up the next morning craving for a cigarette. Thanks to a friend of mine who was 18 bought me a carton. I am so thankful for her and I should have told her I left. I opened my back pack and grabbed the pack out of the carton and lit up one. I breathed in the intoxicating smoke and it eased my stress of waking up. I stood to my feet and grabbed my bag and I decided to find the beach. I walked down main street and everyone was staring at me. I felt like my soul was being taken with the glares I got. Man I swear sometimes I think it's like no one has ever seen a person walking before. I smelled the air and it smelled so salty so I knew that the ocean was close. The closer I got to the ocean I heard waves crashing against the shore. I stood in awe as I seen the ocean. It was huge and beautiful. I walked down the path that led to the beach and walked the shore.
I seen some trees providing shade and I sat down there for a while just watching the ocean. It was so beautiful and breath taking. I couldn't help but let the tears roll down my cheeks. I was finally free from the abuse. I was free from the torture. Most of all I was free of the heartache.
"Aerial!" Someone called my name and I turned around and seen Matt. He was running towards me so I just sat there. My mind was telling me to run but I stayed seated in the sand.
"Hey Aerial! What's up girl?"
"Nothing just sitting here enjoying the ocean few." I said keeping my eyes on the waves coming in. Another tear ran down my face.
"Hey what's wrong?" I know he was concerned about me but I didn't know who to trust. I didn't answer him and he wiped away my tears. I smiled at him.
"There's nothing wrong I'm perfectly fine." I said bringing my knees to my chest.
"Matt! Wait up!" I heard another voice behind him and he turned away.
"Don't go anywhere I want you to meet my friends." He said as he waved them over. The came running over and stood towering over me. I had my head on my knees by the time they got there.
"Who's this?"
"Brian, this is Aerial. The girl I met last night in the park." Matt said pointing at me.
"Cool!" one of them said and he flopped down beside me and squeezed me tightly, "I'm Jimmy." I brought my face up out of my knees and was shocked at what I seen.
"Matt aren't you going to introduce us?"
"Damn Matt you need to work on your people skills." he said. I sighed.
"I already know who you are." I said wiping my face.
"Oh really?"
"Yeah. You're M. Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance, The Rev, and Johnny Christ." I said pointing to each one.
"You must be an Avenged Sevenfold fan."
"I'm a huge fan." I said looking down.
"You don't sound really excited to see us."
"I'm sorry Syn. I'm just really tired from my journey. I came here from Georgia." I said cracking my knuckles and pulling out a pack of cigarettes. I grab me a cig and lit it.
"Wow that's a long journey. You come here with your family?"
"I don't have a family. I was in foster care but I left. I was tired of being there." I explained breathing in the ever loving stress reliever.
"How old are you?"
"I'll be 18 in 4 and half weeks." I said rubbing my eyes.
"How long have you been here in California?"
"You guys sure do ask a lot of questions." I said cocking my eyebrow.
"We're interested. I think you're cool already!"
"Thanks Rev." I said smiling.
"You can call me Jimmy."
"You can call me Brain." Brian said shaking my hand.
"I'm Johnny."
"Zacky." he said fluffing up my hair. I fixed it back in place.
"And you already know me!" Matt smiled rubbing my back.
"So where Matt tripped over you, is that where you're sleeping?"
"Yeah just until I figure out what to do." I said rubbing the back of my neck.
"You're sleeping outside? That's no good. Come stay with me and my wife." Brian said.
"No I couldn't do that. I don't want to mooch."
"There won't be anything like that. You can stay for as long as you want." he said.
"Please stay with Brian...You and Michelle will be great friends and besides you get to see us all the time." Jimmy said putting his arm around my shoulders. I sat there just for a minute and thought about it. I wasn't sure if I should trust these guys but it would be a great story to tell my future family.
"Alright alright I'll stay with Brian." I said smiling and Jimmy jumped on me hugging me tightly.
"Jimmy get off of her. You're going to kill her before I even get her home." Brian said. Jimmy got up and pulled me to my feet. I grabbed my bag and slung it on my back.
"You have some great timing. Michelle and I are doing a barbecue tonight. So you get to meet everyone else." Brian said taking my hand and leading me to his car. We got to his car and Zacky rode shotgun. Jimmy, Johnny and Matt piled in the back. I looked at the space I had and there wasn't enough room. Matt grabbed my hand and pulled me down on his lap. I was a little startled.
"Hey I wanted her to sit on my lap." Jimmy pouted.
"Aerials' my best friend though." I loved the way it sounded. Best friend. I never I had any friends my whole life and now I do. I couldn't believe someone like me would be so lucky to be living with a band member from Avenged Sevenfold. I couldn't help but be so happy on the inside.
I actually found 5 friends in 2 days. That's so awesome! I move a little to get more comfortable in Matt's lap. He wrapped his arms around my waist and for once in my life I felt safe.
"Hey Brian drop me off at my house. I'll meet you there." Matt said bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Alright. The party starts at 7." Brian said looking into the rear view mirror. The drive to Matt's house was silent. I was just trying to take everything in and being so jumpy and nervous on the inside. I yawned and Matt pulled me into him tighter and I laid my head on his shoulder and soon began to feel tired. I tried my hardest to stay awake but sleep was more powerful than I was. I soon drifted off into sleep. I didn't even wake up when Matt was dropped off.
*********************MATT'S POV******************************
I couldn't bare to leave Aerial behind. She was so gorgeous. I mean she might be 17 but as soon as she turns 18 I'm going to make my move that is if me and Val don't sort out our problems and I hope we don't. I walked through the door and she was in the kitchen. I grabbed her around the waist held her against me.
"Hey baby." Val said washing the rest of the dishes.
"Hey."
"I had such an interesting day." I said.
"What do you mean?"
"You know that girl I told you about last night? The one I tripped over in the park." I asked grabbing a beer out of the fridge.
"Yeah what about her?"
"Well she's going to be living with Brian and Michelle and tonight they're having their barbecue so I told him that we would be over there." I said drinking my beer.
"I don't think so."
"What do you mean? I already told him that we will be there." I said confused.
"I don't want you no where near that girl."
"That girl has a name. It's Aerial." I said getting annoyed.
"I don't care if she has a name or not. We are not going."
"Val, I'm not listening to your shit any longer. I mean I can't even talk to anyone without you getting mad and pissed off and shit and it really makes me think that you don't trust me." I explained.
"Oh well. Get used to it. How do you know that little whore isn't some kind of home wrecking slut who breaks up families. I don't like her and I don't want you going."
"She's not a whore or a slut. She is a mannered, nice and sweet young lady! Val, I'm very very tired of you and your shit! I have put up with you and your fucking mouth long enough! When I get back you better have your shit out of my fucking house and be gone by the time I get back!" I yelled.
"Are you breaking up with me?"
"You're damn right I am!" I yelled getting very pissed off.
"Fine! I was cheating on you anyways!"
"Fuck you and get the hell out now!" I said so pissed I was seeing red.
"Fucking fine then! I'll be back later for my shit!" She slammed a plate down into the sink and it shattered and stormed out of the house. I went to the door and opened it.
"I want my damn key." She came back over to me and slammed the key into my hand. I watched her get into her car and drive off down the road. I felt a wave of relief when she left. I was so happy she was fucking gone. Now I can do my own thing without having to worry about what she's doing while I'm gone.

"Cool!" one of them said and he flopped down beside me and squeezed me tightly, "I'm Jimmy." I brought my face up out of my knees and was shocked at what I seen.

We got to his car and Zacky rode shotgun. Jimmy, Johnny and Matt piled in the back. I looked at the space I had and there wasn't enough room. Matt grabbed my hand and pulled me down on his lap.
