McKenna POV.
I stared at Zacky, open-mouthed. We were stood in the middle of the music room. And I was about to go into shock.
“Are you sure?” He nodded. I squealed and threw my arms around his neck. Not something I did every day. The squealing part. I seemed to always somehow accidentally end up choking one of the guys in a hug.
“Err, Mac, I need to breathe babes.” Wheezed Zacky. I pulled away and blushed.
“Sorry.” I ran a hand through my hair. And stared at the plain white walls of the music room.
“What are you thinking of doing then?” Asked Zacky, picking up his guitar and fiddling with the tuning. I looked around the room again in disbelief. I couldn’t believe that the guys were going to let me decorate it.
“I’ve got some ideas.” He mock-glared at me.
“Are you going to tell me?”
“Nope.” I replied, running off laughing.
“Bitch.” He called after me.

“And the rain will kill us all, if we throw ourselves against the wall, and no-one else can see, the preservation of the martyr in me!!!” I sang, moving my hips in time with the music. Two hands caught my hips. A body pressed close to mine. Syn laughed as I hmphed at the interruption to my groove.
“Have I told you that I love the sound of your voice?” He murmured in my ear, his breath warm on my neck.
“Several times and it gets more and more cheesy every time that you say it.” He chuckled into my neck. I took the paintbrush off the wall and waved it at him. “If I mess this up because of you, there will be hell to pay Gates.” Reluctantly, he let go of my hips and stepped back, surveying the wall that I was working on. The plain white wall was slowly getting more interesting as I painted lyrics onto it. I was in the middle of the first full song to go up and wasn’t particularly impressed to find that my painting session was being hijacked by a bunch of guys that were meant to be in meetings all day.
“I never took you for a Slipknot girl.” Commented Johnny, grinning at me. “I’m impressed.” I raised an eyebrow at him.
“I have a wonderful taste in music thank you.”
“That’s debateable, you like McFly.” Added Jimmy. I turned the paintbrush on him.
“Just you watch it there Sullivan.” I threatened, trying not to laugh at Jimmy’s face.
“Ooh, a paintbrush, I’m so terrified. EEEEK! JOHNNY SAVE ME!” He squealed as I started to walk towards him. I grinned.
“Weren’t you lot supposed to be in meetings about the new album all day?”
“They went quicker than planned. We’ve got a month’s studio time up in L.A next month.” Explained Johnny. “Matt took Val out to lunch and Zacky went to check out his new guitar, so we thought we’d come visit you.”
“Wonderful” I muttered, turning to survey my work so far. Syn turned to face me.
“It looks amazing.”
“It’s not finished yet. It’ll look more amazing when it’s done.”
“Jesus, just take a compliment when it’s given to you.” He grumbled, pulling me into a hug. I smiled and let him hold me close, content to be in his arms.
“Never.” Jimmy was frowning curiously at the wall.
“I’m the son of rage and love, the Jesus of Suburbia.” He read, turning to me. “Is that what inspired your knuckle tats?” I glanced down at my Rage and Love tattoos and nodded.
“Pretty much. It’s my favourite Green Day song and the lyrics mean a lot to me.” All three guys looked at me curiously. “And There’s Nothing Wrong With Me, This Is How I’m Supposed To Be, In The Land Of Make Believe, That Don’t Believe In Me.” I finished singing and shrugged. “Just seems to fit my life perfectly. There are several lyrics like that in it.” I washed off my paintbrush and applied fresh paint before continuing with the Jesus Of Suburbia lyrics.
“Ooh! Before I forget, I want a favourite song from each of you and a list of your favourite lyrics from other songs.” I ordered, barely pausing in my painting.
“Whhhyyyyy???” Whined Jimmy, in his best kiddie voice. I sighed and turned to face him.
“Did you really think that I was going to exclude you horrible, ugly lot from your own music room decoration? I may be a bitch, but please.” Behind me, Syn grumbled.
“You’d better not be including me in that horrible and ugly statement.” I snorted.
“Please, you know that it was aimed at you.” Two hands grabbed me from behind and threw me over his shoulder. I shrieked as my view of the world suddenly consisted of carpet and Syn’s ass. Mmmm. Sexy ass.
“You gunna take that back?” He asked. I considered it for a moment.
“Nah, I don’t think that I will.” Johnny laughed.
“Looks like she’s enjoying the view.” I winked at him.
“Don’t you know it babe.” Syn slowly lowered me to the floor.
“You know, if you want to stare at my ass, all you have to do is ask.” He grinned. I stuck my tongue out at him like a little kid. He raised his eyebrow at me. “I’ll bite it, if I see it again.” He warned. I glared at him and withdrew the offending body part. He stepped closer as I went back to painting. Jimmy and Johnny were arguing over which songs to pick for the wall, bloody kids. “Mac,”
“Mmmm?”
“I was wondering…” I glanced curiously at him.
“Come on, spit it out man.” He smiled at my impatience. At least, I hope it was that. Maybe I had paint on my nose. Probably that.
“Will you come up to L.A with us while we’re recording?” I paused, still in the middle of wondering if I had paint on my nose. “Please? I feel like we’re just starting to get to know each other. The last thing that I want is a month apart. And you’re still having the nightmares.” He waved away my feeble protests to the contrary. “You can’t hide it from me babe, we share a room.” He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me in close again. “I don’t want you here alone.” I forced back a smile.
“Are you worried about me?” I asked lightly. He smiled back and nodded. “I can look after myself you know, I’m a big girl.”
“I know. But somehow that worries me more.” I poked him in the chest.
“Watch it mister.” He just laughed.
“So, will you come?” I sighed.
“Yes, I’ll come.” I was rewarded with a soft kiss.
“Thank you.”
