After almost half an hour, we had two of the three boards down.
“I think there’s no need to get the other one down. We all fit in there.” I said examining the space. “Okay, you two go first.” I told them. Lisa hesitated for a second, but got closer to the window, and got out through the little space. Amanda came next, and then me. I looked at the sky; it must be like 5:30pm. Then I realized what had happened, and smiled.
“We’re free.”
“Yeah, but first we have to run, so let’s go.” Amanda said, and we took off, leaving that house of hell behind.

After running for a good 10 minutes, Lisa stopped dead on her tracks, and kneed.
“Wait, I can’t run anymore. My back hurts really bad.” She said as we all tried to catch our breaths. The house was no longer visible, and it was getting dark already.
“What do we do now? We should hide for the night and keep going tomorrow morning.” Amanda said.
“But where?” Lisa asked. I looked around and saw another barn to my left.
“What about there?” I said pointing to the house in view. They both looked. “Maybe it’s abandoned.”
“Let’s go check.” Amanda said, and we walked towards it, finding out it was actually abandoned. Or at least it looked like it; it was empty despite some hay stacks all around it. Amanda took a ladder that was on the floor, and checked a little deck in the upper part of the barn.
“We can stay up here. The hay stacks will help us hide.” Lisa and I got closer, and went up the ladder, then Amanda helped me get the ladder up with us in case they came look in here. We all plopped in the floor.
“Fuck!” Lisa hissed in pain when she rested her back against the wall. “My back hurts!”
“You’ll have to lie in your stomach for a while until the wounds heal. Same happened to me a few days ago, when jimmy decided to whip me.” I told them.
“Fucking bastards…at least we’re out of there now.” Amanda said.
“Yeah…”
“Is someone there?” someone called from below. We all froze where we were; at least it wasn’t any of the boys, it was a girl. We silently laid on the floor of the deck, so she wouldn’t see us. I looked from one of the cracks, and saw a tiny figure, but couldn’t detail the face, since it was dark.
“I know you’re here, I saw you get in! C’mon get out, I’m not gonna do anything to you.” She said. I looked at Amanda who looked at me. I mouthed a ‘what should we do’ to her and she shrugged. I sighed deeply, and stood up.
The girl looked to where I was, “who are you and what are you doing up there?”
“I’m sorry, we’re not gonna rob you or anything, we’re just hiding.” I told her, and then Amanda and Lisa sat up straight.
“Hiding? From who?”
“Okay, I don’t know if you know but your neighbors happen to be…serial killers, who kidnapped us and we just escaped from there.” I told her.
“W-we didn’t know this was your barn, we thought it was abandoned.” Lisa told her nervously.
“Oh…I had no idea! That is so terrible! Come on, you can stay in my house, and I’ll call the police.” She told us.
“Really?! Oh my god, you don’t know how thankful I would be if you let us stay the night!” Lisa said in despair.
“Of course sweetie! Now c’mon.” Lisa jumped to her feet, and was the first to go down the ladder, followed by the two of us. We followed her to her house.
“Please feel at home. By the way, my name is Maryanne. Are you hungry?” she asked. “Y-yeah…” Amanda said scratching the back of her head.
“Good, I’m gonna make some food then…oh dears, you’re all dirty.” She said as she looked at us up and down with concern.
“You wanna take a shower?” she asked.
“Would that be okay with you?” I asked her.
“But of course! C’mon, I’ll show you the bath room, and you can do that while I make dinner.” She smiled sweetly, walking towards the bathroom with me behind.
“There’s some shampoo and stuff, and the towels are in that closet. Call me if you need something.”
“Okay.” I closed the door, and turned on the water stripping out of my clothes as the water got warm. I got in the shower, and let the hot water run down my body, washing away all the dirty from it. I finally felt relaxed.

I took a good 15 minutes washing my hair and getting all clean, before coming out of the shower, and wrapping a towel around my body. I took a good look in the mirror, looking at all the marks and bruises I had. I looked terrible. The wounds on my back looked really bad, and I had bruises on my hips and thighs. I sighed and put my clothes on, then brushed my wet hair, and let it form its normal curls. I came out of the bathroom and into the living room where I stopped dead on my tracks. Guess who was there waiting for me?

“Hello, ginger.” shadows said. He was just standing there with his arms crossed across his chest, and the rest of the gang besides him. I looked around, and found Lisa and Amanda tied with tape over their mouths, in one of the corners of the room.
“Wha-what are you doing here? And where is Maryanne?” I asked nervously. This can’t be fucking happening.
“Oh, I’m here, darling.” She said coming out from behind the guys with a devil smirk on her face. No. fucking. Way. She frowned. “Why those scared puppy eyes?”
“Y-you’re one of them? No, you can’t be. this can’t be happening!” I was beyond shocked. But now that I think about it, it’s not that crazy. I mean, she has been their neighbor for god knows how long, of course it wasn’t just coincidence.
“Awh, did I get your hopes down? I’m really sorry, sweetie…but I guess life’s not fair.” I began to step back cautiously, until I bumped into something. I turned my head, and found a guy looking down at me.
“fuck.” I said under my breath, and took off running at full speed towards the door. Matt, jimmy and the other guy followed me. I opened the door, and began to run towards the woods.
“Come here you fucking bitch!” matt shouted. I looked back; the three of them were running behind me. I began to run faster, and looked back again finding they were getting behind. I turned to the left, and began to look for places to hide, finding some bushes and sticks that could work. I looked back again just to make sure they didn’t saw me, and laid down, getting under the bushes hiding the best I could. I heard footsteps, and the three of them running past the bushes where I was. I sighed in relief. I decided to stay there in case they decided to come back or something. But then I got worried about the girls. What would they do to them? I just expected the worse, unless I could go back and get them out of there somehow…yeah, mission impossible. But I had to try, right? I waited a little longer, and when I didn’t hear the guys come back, I decided to get out from under the bushes.

How many stupid decisions can you make in one day? Yeah, coming out was just the thing I wasn’t supposed to do. I didn’t notice the other guy was waiting besides a tree, and of course he saw me when I stood up. Fuck me sideways!
“You really thought we were gonna let you go that easily?” he asked. I began to run again, but somehow he caught me, and tackled me to the floor. He left me with no air when he landed over me. I began to cough, and then I felt something hit my neck. After that, all went black.
