Kelly Baker sat awkwardly in her sweats on the leather sofa in Matt Sanders living room. She looked around at the people walking around her. Only six of them she knew; the other ten were just strange faces to her. She held a cold beer in her hand that she'd only taken a couple sips from. She didn't want to be rude by saying no, but she knew Matt would've kept insisting until she caved into him.

Matt had always liked Kelly; he said her energy was adorable. He would never date her, but he'd love to get a piece of what she's hiding underneath those grey pants. Zacky, however, was what was keeping him from getting that. He didn't want to lose his best friend over a girl, especially not a sister.

"Why so quiet, red?" Johnny sat himself next to the girl quietly staring at the vibrant party around her. She had no idea why she had agreed to come in the first place, probably because of Brian. If Brian hadn't talked her into to a lot of things, she would still be a virgin.

"I'm just tired," Kelly said, giving on of the best hug-givers she had known her fake smile that she thought no one could see past. The only person who could see past it was Brian Haner Jr.

"Well, drink some of that beer! Get fired up! Tour starts soon, red!" Johnny jumped off the couch to fist pump Matt as he howled in front of the two. Kelly giggled, picking herself up and walking into the kitchen where Jimmy was playing tonsil hockey with one of the unfamiliar girls. Kelly vaguely remembered the girl introducing herself, but her name had been forgotten.

"Oh, no, you don't," Matt grabbed Kelly's arm and swung her into his arms. She looked up at the tall man and laughed.

"You're drunk."

Matt frowned. "No, I'm not."

"You are."

Matt's brow furrowed, making a crease form in his forehead. "No. I. Am. Not," he said in a stern tone followed by helpless giggles. Kelly wriggled herself free of Matt's grip and went on the hunt for her brother. She found on the staircase talking to Ashley. He looked up at her and smiled.

"You okay?"

Kelly nodded, even though she felt completely out of place and under dressed. Every girl here was wearing a fancy dress to celebrate the boys' leaving for tour. Kelly was saddened. Zacky had not once mentioned a tour any in the past week. She pushed those thoughts aside, though. She was here to be happy for him, not put a damper on things.

"Yeah, I'm just -"

"Not celebrating," Johnny said as he passed her with a line of three girls following him. Kelly rolled her eyes and looked back at Zacky.

"I'm gonna go. I'll talk to you later." Kelly turned on her heel and walked into the living room to get her keys from the coffee table. She didn't know anyone was in the room because the lights were dimmed. She turned on the lamp and almost screamed when she saw Brian half naked on the sofa with a girl in nothing but her skivvies straddling him. Brian caught glimpse of her; his eyes widened. Kelly grabbed her keys and stormed out of the house halfway crying. She walked, almost ran, to her car and got in, starting the vehicle and driving twenty minutes to her apartment in the foothills.

"I was so stupid," Kelly mumbled to herself as she fumbled with her keys to unlock the door. She was crying now, and pissed. She had known better not to fall for Brian, but she did anyway. And look where it got her? Hurt, the one thing Brian had promised he would never do.

"Never will I trust that God forsaken man in my life again!" She hung her keys on the key ring next to her door and slammed the door shut. She stomped across the floor to her room and fell on her bed. She was crying, now. Her heart had been broken. Three years of flirting and thinking there was something had gone to waste. Something told her she shouldn't believe him, but she didn't listen. Now, Kelly Baker was heart broken, and what did she have to show for it?
