Complicated Love

"Whatchya think, Titan?"
I stood in front of the mirror in my new bikini. It was strapless and black with purple skulls all over it. It was the smallest piece of clothing I had ever worn. But of course I didn't get embarassed.
It showed off my flat stomach where I had a belly button piercing and my death bat tattoo on my right hip wasn't even covered by the low hanging bottoms.
I turned around slowly looking at all of my tats. I had a pair of angel wings going all the way down my back, I had stars wrapping around my left ankle and I had a star on my left breast with the initials J.O.S inside of it. That was the first one I had ever gotten and it was with Jimmy.
I had told him I didn't want his name on me but he had begged me with those blue eyes of his.
"Please, Duckie?" he had pleaded. "So you know I'll always be a part of you. I'll never leave you so why not at least get my initials?"
I smiled at the memory. We had only been sixteen at the time.
I grabbed my purple swimsuit cover from where Titan was laying on it on the bed (guessed my favorite color yet?). He made a small whine and put his huge head on his paws.
I scratched behind his ears. "I'll be home later baby. You be good."
I slipped on a pair of flip flops and headed out the door.
When I pulled up to Matt's house, I could hear the music already playing from the huge speakers they had probably moved outside.
There was nobody in the house so I went straight out back to the pool. It was getting dark outside but the pool lights were on and white Christmas lights were hung up on the fence surrounding the huge back yard.
I saw Jimmy and Brian dunking Johnny while Zack sat on the edge laughing his ass off. Matt and Val were sitting on a chair with their heads close together, talking quietly.
Zack saw me first. "Brookie!" he yelled as he stood up and ran towards me.
"No running around the pool," I said laughing as he pulled me into a huge hug. He looked me up and down and smiled.
"You look gorgeous," he said, winking. "Can't wait to see the actual suit"
I slapped him on the chest as I moved around him to put my towel down on a chair.
"Hey guys," I said to Matt and Val. I leaned over to give Val a hug and Matt ruffled my hair. "Hey, B" he said.
"Brooke!"
I turned to see Brian and Jimmy still dunking Johnny. It was Johnny who had called me. "Help.....me! They listen.....to you!" He was saying in between dunks.
I laughed and sat on the edge not far from where they were and put my feet in the water. "Guys," I said, giving them my best serious face but failing miserably. "You let him up or I'll come in there after you!"
Brian and Jimmy shared a mischevious look, which is never good. They let johnny up and he swam for the ladder and climbed out. But now they were headed for me. "Oh no you don't!"
I climbed out before they could reach me and stuck my tongue out at them.
Then Zack grabbed my shoulder and started pushing me towards the pool. "Oh you traitor!" I said. That just made them all laugh.
I managed to wriggle free right before he threw me and I pushed him in. With a small squeal he hit the water. All of us were laughing so hard.
I undid my suit cover from around my neck, placed it next to my towel then ran and jumped in.
The water felt good but it felt even better being able to play around with them all again. It was like old times.
I came up and swam to Brian and Jimmy. I reached Brian first and he wrapped his arms around me. "Hiya Brookie. You're all wet."
I laughed and dunked him before he knew what was going on.
"Thats what you get, dude!" It was Johnny from the edge of the pool. "How's it feel to get dunked by a girl?"
I looked over at him. "Why don't you come in and see?"
He took a few steps back and all the guys laughed.
Matt looked up from kissing Val. "If I remember right, Brooke is the reigning chicken champion. Why don't you see if you can finally beat her, Christ?"
"Yeah!" Jimmy yelled. He went under and swam towards me. When he came back up, I was on his shoulders. I shrieked and tried to keep from falling off.
"Psh. She can't even stay up. It's been too long for her. I got this," Johnny said. He jumped in and got on Brian's shoulders. Zacky stood in between us and held his hands up. He had always been referie. He never dared challenge me.
"Bring it on short shit," I said grabbing Johnny's outstretched hands.
Not even thirty seconds later i had knocked him off Brian. He climbed back up to go again but I knocked him off again.
"Fuck!" he said coming up out of the water.
I held my hands up over my head. "I am the all time champion--AHHH!"
Jimmy had flipped backwards causing me to fall off into the water. When I came back up I jumped on his back making him laugh. I wrapped my arms around his neck and leaned my head against his. "You're such a meanie," I whined.
A little while later, we were all in the hot tub, drinking beer and sharing stories.
"Ok, Brooke. when were you gonna tell us about the wings?" Zacky said. "You didn't have those when you left."
I took a drink of my beer then put it on the side. "How observative of you, Vengeance." I turned around, stood out of the tub a little, and held my hair up so they could all see the whole thing.
Jimmy whistled. "Wow, Duckie. Those are gorgeous. When did you get those?"
I sat back down and placed my feet in his lap. "My last birthday," I said.
"Which," Brian said, "Is coming up...next week right?"
I laughed. "Yeah Bri. It is."
Val clapped. "So we celebrate!"
Matt leaned over and whispered in her ear. She smiled "Ok guys, we're gonna turn in. You know what to do when you leave."
They got out and pretty much ran for the back door. I sunk down some into the water and took another drink of my beer.
Brian said "twenty bucks says their about to go have hot and heavy sex for about three hours."
I splashed some water at him but i still laughed.
I never wanted to leave. I was having the greatest fun I'd had in a long time. Jimmy pulled me close to him and wrapped his arms around me.
"So, how did your day go, Brooke?" Johnny asked.
I shrugged. "Fine I guess. You guys remember Drew?"
Jimmy grew tense and the three other guys looked at me, shocked. "Yeah," Brian said. "You dated him before you left. But didn't you dump him?"
I nodded. "Yeah. Well he called me today and asked me to go out to lunch. So I did. Turns out he wants me back."
Jimmy and Brian shared a look but I couldn't tell what it meant. "What?" I asked.
"Well what did you say?" Zack asked.
I was still wondering what was going on between those two but I answered Zacky. "I said I wasn't looking for a relationship right now and he told me to let him know when I was."
I felt Jimmy relax a bit. "I didn't know he still had a thing for you," he said.
"Me neither. I guess I had a bigger impression on him than I thought."
"Well," Johnny said. "I, for one, am impressed. He was the only one we couldn't scare away. I always thought he would be the one you'd settle down with, Brooke."
Jimmy gave Johnny a death glare that made him blush and sink down into the water.
Ok, something was definately going on with him. I put a hand on his arm and he relaxed fully.
"Jimmy? Babe what in the world is going on with you? You're acting strange...er"
One corner of his mouth went up and he threw his arms around me and hugged me tight.
"Nothing, Duckie. Come on. Lets dry off and get out of here."
"uh...yeah alright. I'll see you guys later." I hugged them all and climbed out after Jimmy.
Something was definately up with him.
