I jumped into Jimmy's arms and hugged him tight. He laughed and spun me around.
"Hiya Duckie," he said in my ear.
"Hey! Save some for the rest of us, huh?"
I looked around Jimmy and saw all of my boys standing in my living room with goofy smiles on their faces. It was Brian who had spoken.
"Brian!" I ran towards him and nearly knocked him over with my hug. "Oh my God I've missed you guys so much!"
Brian laughed and let go of me as I was enveloped in another hug. Johnny this time.
"Hey Brookie," he said as he hugged me.
"Hi Short Shit." At that, they all laughed. In truth, Johnny is taller than me. They all are but I still call him that to get on his nerves. He loves me though.
"Me! Me! I'm next!" Zacky picked me up and swung me around much like Jimmy had.
"Zacky! Missed you but I'm gonna hurl!"
He put me down and mumbled, "Sorry."
Last but not least was Matt. He hugged me so tight I could barely breathe. "Matty, I love you but can't breathe..."
"Oops," he said. "Sorry, B."
I looked around as I was surrounded by my boys once again. I had forgotten I had given each of them a key to my place.
"When did you guys get back?" I asked.
Matt, Brian and Zack all sat on my couch, Jimmy sat in the recliner and Johnny sat on the floor. Jimmy pulled me into his lap and wrapped his arms around me. I love my Jimmy.
"Late last night," Matt said in response to my question.
"Now, what I want to know is, why are you dressed like a sexy teacher, Brookie?" Brian asked.
Johnny said, "Yeah. You just film a porno or something?"
They all laughed and I flipped him off. "No. I had a job interview today. At the elementary school."
I felt Jimmy squeeze me. "The one we went to?" he asked.
"Yupp," I said, popping the p.
"Thats's awesome, B. You get the job?" Matt asked.
I nodded and Jimmy squeezed me again. "I sure did. I start on Monday. Its only temporary for now, but hey," I shrugged, "it's a start right? The principal was creepy, though. Kept looking me up and down. So gross."
"What the fuck!" Brian yelled. "You really want to work for a creepo?"
I got off Jimmy's lap, went to sit on Brian's and hugged his neck. "Calm the green monster, huh Bri? I got this. I'm not that easily scared away."
"We know, Brooke," Zacky said, rubbing my back. "We have all just missed you. Plus you know how Brian gets."
I laughed and I'm pretty sure Brian mouthed "fuck off" to Zack but I'm not sure.
Jimmy scooted forward in his chair and looked at me. I studied him for a moment. I hadn't seen in a long while but he pretty much looked like he had when I'd last seen him. Tall, skinny, black hair that was long in front, short in back and all spiked up. He was wearing glasses today instead of his contacts. I always thought he had looked cuter with his glasses.
Whoa...wait. Cute? Since when did I think of him like that? Of course they're all good looking but they're family.
It was just about then that Titan ran in from my bedroom and nearly knocked Johnny over since he was the one on the ground. Brian jumped up almost dropping me on my butt as he went to wrestle with my dog.
"Titan!" he yelled. "Oh how is my big boy? I've missed you!"
I sat back on the couch which was now warm from were Brian had been sitting and watched him and Johnny wrestle with Titan. Brian and Titan had always been the best of friends. It was he who had found the dog and gave him to me as a birthday present about five years ago.
I loved being here with them all again.
Soon, Johhny got up and Jimmy took his place wrestling with Brian and Titan. Johnny took his spot in the recliner and patted his legs. I got up and sat in his lap.
I had almost always sat in one of their laps. It was just a thing with us. It was usually Jimmy but every now and then I would find other laps to sit upon. I never did it when one of them had a girlfiend and I never did it to Matt anymore. I knew Val wouldn't care but I did it out of respect.
Then I was being picked up and thrown over Jimmy's shoulder. I gave out a little yelp of suprise which only made them all laugh. Jimmy was spinning me around and around. "Duckie is mine! Only on my lap shall she sit!"
I pounded his back with my fists. "Will you put me down, goofball? I'm gonna puke!"
He put me down and kept a hand on my shoulder so I wouldn't fall over. I waited until the room stopped spinning to speak again. "Jeez Jimmy. I love you but damn! You haven't done that to me in a while. Be gentle."
He hugged me. "Sorry, Brooke."
After Matt had stopped laughing he came to stand by us. "Hey, Brooke? I know Val mentioned this but we're having a small pool party tonight. Just us. Please come?"
I looked around and the were all giving me puppy dog eyes. I laughed and pulled them in for a group hug.
"Of course! I can't miss a part with my boys, can I?"
"Nope!" they all said in unison.
