We came home early so I went home to surprise Brayden, we had talked on the phone but I haven’t seen her in a week. I unlocked the front door and creeped up into the bedroom; she was asleep curled up on her left side. I got in bed with her and held her around the waist, she shifted and I laid on my back and she laid her head on my chest and her left hand rested beside it. I looked down at her and took a double take back to her wrist. Did she have some sort of cast on it?
“Jimmy.” She mumbled in her sleep.
Awh she is dreaming about me.
“He’s going to find me.” She said
She started breathing heavier and twitching some. Was she having a nightmare?
“Dad don’t! No stop don’t touch us! Leave my baby alone! No!” She screamed
She sat up hastily and looked at me, she blinked a few times and started to bawl.
“Hey shh it’s okay it was just a dream. Jimmy’s here now.” I said
She hugged onto me.
“I was supposed to come get you.” She said
“Really that’s what comes to mind?” I asked
She smiled faintly and pushed her lips to mine.
“What happened?” I asked
She cocked her head to the side.
“I don’t want to talk about the dream.” She said
“Your wrist.” I said
“Oh. I fell down the stairs.” She said
“How?” I asked
I had gotten out of the shower and I wrapped the towel around me and went to go down and my feet were wet and I slipped. I fractured my left wrist and left ankle.” She said
“And you didn’t call me?” I asked
“You would of come home. And you were on the plane so I couldn’t.” She said
“Was it the first day?” I asked
She nodded.
“I’m so scared my dad is going to find me.” She cried
“I’m here now baby you’ll be okay.” I said
She nodded and buried her face into the crook of my neck.
“Where’s Payson?” I asked
“In the nursery.” She said
“Have you even left the house?” I asked
She shook her head.
“Why? How did you get food?” I asked
“There’s always food here and because I was scared since I didn’t have anyone around to protect me he’d find me.” She said
“Let’s drop Payson off at my moms and go to Matt's.” I said
“How about we drop her off at Papa Gates and my moms and go to Matts.” She said
“Do you not like my parents?” I asked
“I love your parents but it seems to me that they don’t like me.” She said
“Well Bray they don’t hate you, they love you they just have a special way of showing it. They are confused, they don’t understand our relationship and how it came to be.” I said
She nodded and laid her head back down.
“To Matts.” I said
“Sanders right?” She asked
“Is there another matt?” I asked
“Matt Baker.” She said
“Oh that’s right, Zacky does have a little brother.” I said
She nodded
“You want to go now?” I asked
She nodded and we got up and got dressed. She was staring at me.
“What baby?” I asked
She walked over and stood on her toes as best as she could with the damn boot and threw her arms around my waist.
“I know it was only a week but I missed you dearly.” She said
“I missed you too cripple.” I said
She smiled.
“We’re not swimming at Matt’s are we?” She asked
“Nah probably just talk and watch some T.V.” I said
She nodded and pulled one of my oversized t-shirts over her head and her right converse.
“Ready?” She asked
“Are you going to put pants on?” I asked
“Nope.” She smiled.
I laughed and we got everything we needed including Payson and drove to Papa Gates house. We dropped her off and headed to Matt’s house.
“Knock knock.” Brayden said as we entered the living room.
“Hey there...... Whoa what the fuck happened?” Johnny asked
“Can I tell the story?” Val asked
“I’ll tell up to when I called you.” I said
Matt, Val, Brian, Madison, Johnny, Lacey, Zacky, Gena, Matt Baker, Brayden and I all sat in the living room and Brayden started talked.
“Well after we got home from dress shopping and after I picked Payson up and put her to bed, I took a shower, when I got out I wrapped the towel around me and went to walk into the kitchen. I slipped down the stairs and landed at the bottom, I army crawled over to my phone and called Val.” Brayden said
“When my phone rang I was with Matt Baker so I answered and freaked out a little because she sounded hurt and she told me to hurry, my first thought was Hank had gotten to her so Matt and I rushed over to the house. When we got there she was laying on the living room floor wrapped in a towel. The only thing Matt over here could say is “You’re naked.” Matt carried her up the stairs and to the bedroom so I could help her get dressed and when Matt set her down on the floor her towel fell leaving her in front of Matt and I naked. Matt stared for a bit and I told him to get out, I helped her get dressed and then Matt took her to the hospital.” Val said
Everyone started clapping and Matt Bakers face was red.
“Well it’s not like you guys haven’t seen me naked.” Brayden said
They all nodded in agreement.
“How about we play strip poker.” Zacky said
“Hell yeah.” Val and Madison said
So on the game of strip poker went.
By the end I was completely naked along with Matt Zacky, and Matt Baker. Brayden was in her bra and underwear(I’m surprised she’s not naked since she only had on a t-shirt over them). Madison didn’t have pants on and Val was missing her shirt and shoes. Johnny, Brian, Lacey, and Gena were fully clothed because they backed out of the game.
“You know what?” Brayden asked
“What?” Val asked
“Matt Baker we are even.” She said
