Deal With The Devil

Abusion

When Hurricane finally walked through the threshold of Syn’s mansion, she was surprised to find him in the hallway, waiting for her return.

He never waited for her to return from wherever she had been, and he hadn’t even said the magic words to her yet, something that he did to believe that she was demon only when he said those special words. Instead, he smiled at her, a genuine smile that she didn’t think he had it in him to create, and wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into a hug and spinning her around a little.

“Oh my darling, I’m so happy! Ecstatic, even” he announced, pressing his thin lips against hers passionately, like they were almost husband and wife. Obviously he hadn’t noticed the smell of sex and fake blood that Hurricane had brought back from his father’s home.
Why was he so happy?

“May I ask, Master, why you seem to be so happy all of a sudden? You were in a foul mood this morning” Hurricane asked quietly, acting submissively for she knew that he liked that and he chuckled, tilting her face up to stare at him with two of his long fingers.
“So innocent, my little honey bee. I found the test in the trash this morning” he said again, a small smile playing across his face. The pregnancy test. Shit…

She knew already that it was Shadows’, she and Syn had had sex once, and that was after she’d taken the test and it had been positive, the baby was definitely not his. She hadn’t had a chance to tell her husband that he was going to be a father- yet somehow Syn was convinced that the child was his.
“I’m sorry?” she asked again, still a little confused at what Syn was implying.

“Oh my beautiful darling. Our baby, hiding away in your belly. Why didn’t you tell me when you took the test?” he smiled, pressing his hand against the skin of her stomach and kissing her again. She tried to hide her surprise, choosing to hastily kiss him back.

If he wanted to believe it was his, then she could let him do that to his heart’s desire. But he would be dead before he got a chance to see the baby born, she and Matthew would make sure of that. Eventually, she would have to find Matt again and tell him the news, but for now she would have to go along with his little game and pretend that this baby really did belong to Syn.

“Darling, I thought you’d be angry at me. I didn’t think you were one of those people who adored children, and bringing up a child in a broken home is a terrible thing these days” Hurricane said slowly, staring up at Syn who smiled again. She wasn’t used to seeing him so happy; usually he was angry all the time.

“I’m not mad, my love, I’m excited. Happy! Every king needs an heir after all, and who better to mother it than the woman I crave. And what do you mean a broken home?” he asked, his smile fading a little at the end of his sentence. The object was to keep him happy, to go along with what he wanted until she could backfire his plan and kill him.

“Well…of course I was never happy with Shadows, for my desire is to be yours. But we’re not married, and being a single mother is horrible” she lied through her teeth, hoping that she sounded convincing to the man opposite her. He considered this for a moment before sighing and looking over at her.

“Then you shall have your wish, darling. We will be married as soon as possible” Syn announced and crushed their lips together again, leaving a horrible sinking feeling in Hurricane’s gut. She’d have to try and kill him before the wedding, so that she could run back into the arms of Matt and have this baby in a home she wanted to be a part of, rather than one she’d been forced into by some crazed lunatic. He seriously wanted her to marry him? She’d rather be sent back up to the mortal world or be banished like he was.

“Oh…I mean…um…” she stumbled over her words and suddenly his demeanor changed again and she smashed her up against the side of the wall, his hand closing around her pale white neck. His lips were twisted in a snarl, and that happy man that she’d seen as she walked through the door had disappeared; in his place an angry, sinister man.

“What is so disturbing about my offer of marriage, Hurricane? Are you deceiving me in some way? Because if you are, you will perish just like my father did” he hissed, his face so close to hers she could smell his breath as it curled around the skin on her face like hot ash. Sighing, she knew that for now she would have to play submissive to this man and pretend that she was in love with him, and that it was his child that she was carrying.

“No Master. Nothing” she replied softly, and he released the grip on her throat.
"Good. Because if you're not careful, little Hurricane, you will wake up with a slit in your throat and a dead child in your bed" he hissed evilly and without warning, he pushed her roughly to the floor and stalked off. His foul mood had returned.

She had crushed her hand on the way down, something painful that didn’t help her mood, and she found herself cradling her hand as she cried a little, hoping that the baby didn’t feel anything. It was barely more than a bundle of cells at the moment and already she was treating it like it was a human being.

“Hurricane? Has he said the words yet?”

Jimmy. She looked up to see him standing over her, his bright blue eyes stained with concern. She’d been surprised when he told her that he was on her side rather than Syn’s, and that he had turned up in Banished Land on Silas’ orders. It seemed plausible. She shook her head and Jimmy knelt down to her height, pulling something out of his pocket.

“He can be a bastard when he wants to be. What was it about this time?” he asked as he began to rub a healing cream over her hand, where the bruises and the breaks were probably lying. She gulped, wiping away a tear with her other hand.

“I’m pregnant, Jim. And it’s Shadows’- but Syn thinks it’s his. He wants us to get married and…I have to kill him. Soon. I feel so terrible cheating on Mattie” she whined quietly, trying to make sure she wasn’t heard by the man they were tricking. Jimmy nodded and then helped her to her feet, brushing some dust from her dress.

“Honey, we all feel guilty about cheating someone at some point. The trick is not to care” he said, and then glanced over his shoulder and leaned into her ear to whisper something to her.

“I can get you back out to see Matt again”
