“Hello” she answered the phone. He missed her voice so badly. “Your dad told me to call you.” he said trying not to make his voice crack. He doesn’t want a divorce , he wants to make things work between them. “Yea, the papers should be at your place in the next 2 days.” he felt his heart drop into the pit of his stomach. “You only filed 2 weeks ago.” he said his voice cracking. “Good lawyers.” was her answer. Jimmy sighed “Can you please just come home so we can talk about this.” she let out a dry laugh on the other end of the line. “what is there to talk about, you slept with my best friend, thats all there is to it.” He felt like crying. “ I said I was sorry, what else do you want me to do, we’ve been together since 1996 please just come home.” he let out a sob at the end and slip to the floor.
She sighed on the other end of the phone. “Okay, so you wanna talk about this, fine lets talk. What made you do it?” “I don’t know okay, but please just come home.” she sighed again. “I am home James.”
