A lot of people wish that they could be friends with rock stars, that they could live tour life with them, that they can get to sit backstage at all of their shows and hug them each and every time they come off stage all pumped and sweaty and go out and get royally shit faced with them. A lot of girls wish that, I don’t though.

You’re probably wondering why it is that I don’t have those aspirations and I will explain to you why that is, basically, I’ve been friends with Zacky Vengeance of Avenged Sevenfold ever since Kindergarten, we lived next door to each other all our lives, which kind of forced us to be friends. In a way I’m glad, because if I hadn’t met Zacky, I would have never met Brian or Synyster Gates as he goes by on stage.

The reason I also I don’t wish for all of those things above, is because I already have them, I do those things nightly, because Zacky and I are practically inseparable, and he always insists that I come on tour with him. People often joke that we’re secretly dating and won’t tell anyone, which in the beginning pissed Zacky’s girlfriend Gena off, but then we both explained to her that there was absolutely nothing going on, our relationship was more brother and sister than it would ever be anything else.

Like right now, I’m sitting backstage with Gena and Matt’s girlfriend Valerie. We were sitting on the side of the stage, on some unused amps, just waiting for the guys to come off stage so that we could all go out and get royally drunk on vodka and such. It was one thing that I enjoyed about tour life, no not the getting so drunk I couldn’t remember my name, but the fun of that, the whole buzz of going to a club and having a good time with my friends.

I was hoping that tonight I would be free of the one person I despised the most, the one girl who really, I wished would crawl under a rock and die. The problem was that I couldn’t act on my feelings for Brian because he had a girlfriend, Michelle, who also happened to be the twin sister of Valerie.

The other problem was, was that she was one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet and I hated that, because I have no reason to hate her other than the fact she’s dating the man that I love.

I know I probably sound like a love sick teenager right now, but you try hiding your feelings for a man as gorgeous, talented, smart and sexy as Brian Haner Jr, it’s not easy. Oh and try doing it since high school. Yeah, doesn’t sound like all it’s cracked up to be does it? Didn’t think so.

But of course you never get what you want in life, and literally thirty seconds after I had had this notion, none other than Michelle came bouncing around the corner.

“Hi girls!” She squealed, I rolled my eyes, was she always this annoyingly perky? I tune her out a lot of the time, but I couldn’t right now and I knew I had to be polite and make conversation with her until the guys came off stage.

“How long till they get off stage do Y’think?” Gena wondered aloud.

“Well Matt said their last song was gonna be critical acclaim, and if the crowd wanted an encore they’d do welcome to the family and Nightmare, so I guess this is the last song” She
said as we heard the sound of Brian shredding his way through the solo in nightmare. Not too long now.

After what felt like forever the guys were coming off stage sweaty and grinning as per usual. Zacky, Brian and Matt made a bee line for their girlfriends, and as per usual Johnny and I had a small wrestling match with each other until Zacky came over and pulled me into a hug, asking me if I enjoyed the show and I told him that I did, I always enjoyed their shows.

“Okay Baker get off me now” I said pushing him away “As much as I love you, you stink”

“So I shouldn’t do… this!” He laughed pulling me into a headlock, I shrieked and tried to fight my way out of it, until I elbowed him in the stomach and he let me go.

“Asshole”

“Love you too babe” He laughed and we did our secret handshake, yes okay we had one. I turned around to see that the others were starting to make their way back to the bus so Zacky and I followed them.

Brian and Michelle were in front of me and I couldn’t help but check his ass out while he walked. I tried not to make my glances obvious, but I couldn’t help myself, the boy had a very nice ass.

“Make you comfortable ladies” Brian said “And we’ll be ready soon”

“In other words we have to wait two hours for you guys to get ready”

“Yup!”

“See it wasn’t two hours” Johnny teased. I rolled my eyes and flipped him off.

“At least it’s the last night of tour, after tonight I can go home and sleep in my own bed”

“Hey you chose to come on tour with us”

“Actually blame your rhythm guitarist, he told me that there would be waffles from that one place in Texas that we went to on your first tour”

“You got your waffles” Zacky said

“I know I did”

“The why’re you complaining?”

“Because Johnny snores and talks about strippers in his sleep”

“What?! I do not!”

“Maybe not the stripper thing, but you do snore on the odd occasion”

“At least I don’t dry fuck the pillows” He said shooting a devilish look at Zacky who had his
arm around Gena now.

“Ohmygod I didn’t try to dry fuck a pillow!”

“Did too”

“What are you, five?”

“At least you didn’t get off with Greta Salpeter in high school”

“That was a dare”

“You still did it”

“Yeah but dude you saw the rack on that girl”

“No I didn’t, because one, she’s a human being, she’s not an object, therefore she shouldn’t be objectified, and second, I don’t go round looking at other girls boobs”

“You’d think you would because you don’t have any of your own”

“Oh you are so dead Christ”
