(write this while listening to Amelia )

“Erik, Erik look here! So…how do you feel about finally getting your first drum kit?”
“Is this a video? Oh it’s a video. Umm…I dunno. Excited I guess. Okay, major hyper goosebumps, jumping until I reach the sky kind of excited.”
“What made you want to play drums?”
“That’s easy! The Rev! He’s so fucking awesome I would marry him any day.”
“Shut up he’s mine!”
“Ahhh not fair Emily! You’re a bassist, you belong with Johnny!”
“I don’t like short guys!”
“Give me that camera! Give me – uh. Okay your turn.”
“My turn?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay. Ask me anything.”
“How do you feel about Drew?”
“…..”
“What? What are you gawking at? I didn’t ask the wrong question did I?”
“Why are you asking me that!”
“I know you like him. Just say it in front of the camera, I won’t show it to him. I swear.”
“No!”
“Aww come on! If the real reporter asks you questions like this you have to answer. Sooner or later.”
“I hate you.”
“No, you love me.”
“….you’re right. I love you.”

This time Erika couldn’t control her tears as her hands smashed the drums to the Emily song. That video of them pretending to be interviewed had been in her possession for as long as she can remember. And the management decided to play it in the background of this song on stage, during their first time being a headliner. Fade Out May had released their first album entitled So Wrong But So Right and it became hit after two weeks in stores.

She saw Drew was holding back his tears too, but he was happily dating Megan the tattoo artist now. But as the lyrics that Jenna sang; Our hearts will never forget you. They can never forget that particular phase in their life no matter how happy they’ll become later. She glanced to the side stage and saw her favorite face there – smiling and giving her courage everytime. They had been together for six months, and she felt more than happy being by his side. Whenever Avenged Sevenfold didn’t have any shows or tour he will always come to her gig – no matter how small or big. Fans would recognize him instantly and he didn’t mind telling the whole world he was dating her.

There were pictures and stories of them splayed everywhere in the internet. Some of them were supportive but some were not. Arin couldn’t care less, he didn’t give a shit about negative feedbacks of them anyway. He was serious about her.

“Thank you San Diego! We hope to see you again next time!”

Approximately 2000 people screamed and yelled their names. As usual, Erika ran towards Jenna and threw her drumsticks in the air, but this time Arin caught it. He stood among the crowd and just grinned looking at her. Erika jumped down from the stage and threw herself in his arms with her legs wrapped around him and her arms circled behind his neck. The crowd made room for them and were screaming again. Security had to restrain their movements as some of them wanted to break them off out of jealousy. They rarely did this in public, let alone in such a big concert like this but today Arin felt like showing off.

“You were amazing.” Arin murmured and pressed his forehead onto hers.

She smiled and he took her lips softly. They kissed in front of 2000 fans of Fade Out May and the band members itself. Jenna was commenting about the romantic incident through the microphone and Erika just showed her the middle finger.

She didn’t care what everyone else said about her and Arin. The most important thing is, she’s happy.

RAINCHECK

“I lied again. I love you, Arin.”

Arin smiled and glanced around behind him. He touched her arms and replied;

“I love you too, Eri.”

He turned around and laughed but his hands were still holding on to her arms.

“Don’t we sound corny?”

“Oh God yes. My feet are curling up.”

Both of them laughed but gradually stopped when suddenly a black Porsche approached by their side and rolled down its tinted window.

“Yo Arin, come on-” It was Zacky, and he immediately stopped talking after he noticed a presence of a girl beside Arin. He went out of the car and couldn’t believe what he saw.

“ERIKA?”
“VENGEANCE!!”
They ran into each other’s hug and Erika jumped excitedly.
“Wow, Vengeance! You look great!”
“And you look wet. Stop calling me by my stage name. Just call me Zacky.”
“I can’t help it. I’m a fan.”
“Then start calling Arin ‘Revenge’ then.”
“What, that’s his stage name now?”
“Not yet, but since he likes to get back at people I’d call him that.”
“Hey I heard that.”

Erika laughed. She missed talking to Zacky so much. He was so funny in person. Especially when he teamed up with Brian on stage. They always did silly things along with silly facial expression together.

“Follow us back to Huntington? Tonight is Matt’s turn.” Arin walked towards them and reached for her fingers.
“Turn for what?”
“They did this dinner tradition every Friday night, taking turns in hosting and so far I’ve only been in two of them. When Johnny was hosting and Brian.”
“Wow, I’d love to! I want to meet the other guys.”
“Especially Brian?”

She blushed suddenly, but she had zero feelings towards him now. Just pure respect and admiration, that’s all.

“No. Especially Michelle. God I miss her so much.”

“Then what are you two losers waiting for? Get the fuck in!”

They walked along the beach near Matthew’s house hand in hand after having dinner. Matthew had a beach for his backyard and Erika was impressed when he said that he bought 10 miles off the shore just for his son to run around and playing sandcastle without having the paparazzi or even random people to bother them.

Tonight the moon was full, and they just walked aimlessly. Sometimes they would stop to play with the sea foam and kicking each other’s leg until one of them fell into the water.

When they were finally tired of walking, they sat on the damp sand, letting their feet to be eaten alive by the small sea wave and just staring at the dark sky.

“I was so scared.”

Erika turned to Arin when he began to speak after they looked up to the sky in silence.

“I’m scared I can’t do it. I kept thinking, what if I fail to meet their expectation? What if I’m not good enough?” he searched for her eyes under the moonlight.

“When we were in the recording process of Hail To the King I wished you were there, so that you could inspire me. I have to write my own notes, and I kept rewriting and rewriting. I was afraid that I might not live up to The Rev’s name.”

Erika rubbed his back and rested her head on his shoulder. “But you killed it.”

Arin chuckled lightly. “The guys helped me a lot. They said I don’t have to continue Rev’s legacy. They wanted me to build a legacy of my own.”

Erika looked up to him and smiled. “Aren’t they awesome?”

“They are the greatest group of friends I’ve ever known.”

“I hope I can be like you Arin. Playing in the big leagues. But I gotta earn myself to be there. Step by step.”

“You’re already amazing, Eri. Remember that.” He leaned closer to her face and just stopped there, not making any more moves. She grinned and kissed him softly as he granted it with pleasure. But just when she was about to go deeper, Arin suddenly stood up.

“Race back to Matt’s!” He ran off quickly and with his long legs, he easily went far while Erika blinked fast on the sand, dumbfounded

“Richard Arin Ilejay!! Fucking wait for me!!”
