Seventeen and Pregnant (Avenged Sevenfold)

Deanna’s P.O.V.
I apologized to everyone but to Katie and to Johnny. I didn’t see Katie really. I came downstairs and she went outside, Johnny was still ticked at me and my boyfriend was helping my mom with the dishes. I apologized to my dad who smiled and kissed the top of my head and cupped my cheek.
“We need to talk baby girl,” He said. I swallowed, wondering if mom told him about me being pregnant. If she did, I would have been mad at her for doing something like that. It was my choice if I wanted to tell anyone or not. Granted they were my parents but she was snooping in my room, she didn’t have a right for that and she didn’t have a right telling my father either.
I nodded and we came and sat at the table and he asked for Jimmy and mom to come and sit down. Jimmy came and sat down beside me, grabbing my hand and kissing the top of it and smiled at me as I came and put my head on his shoulder.
“Deanna, we know that being pregnant at your age is a big change,” My father informed, “We will support you on this but,” He said and pointed a finger to me, “If I hear about any of you guys, Brian, Matt, Johnny, Zacky, anyone of drinking underage again. I will call the cops,” He said in this tone that sent shivers down my spine. Jimmy and I both nodded fiercely and my father came and put his arm around my moms shoulders and sighed.
Then he asked the one question that no one knew, that we only had a hunch, “Who’s the father?” Jimmy and I both looked at one another and I looked at my father and I swallowed.
“We…we don’t know,” I whispered. My father looked at me dumfolded. He ran his fingers through his hair and chuckled.
“Perfect, just freaking perfect,” He mumbled letting his fingers coming down his face as he sighed, “Well, I guess that’s something you have to decide Deanna,” He said, got up and left the table with my mom upstairs. That’s when Katie came in the house, my brother coming to her like a lost puppy and kissed her. I saw Katie tense and he pulled away smiling. I looked at Jimmy who looked down at me, he saw the same thing. I thought Katie loved my brother, that he was the lost piece of her life or whatever. If you loved someone, you wouldn’t be tensing. Katie smiled at him, a fake smile but my brother was to blind by love to see this.
“Deanna,” Katie looked at me and Jimmy, “Can you give me a ride to Matt’s?” She asked carefully. I nodded, pulling away from my Jimmy and gave him a kiss good-bye before getting on my shoes and grabbed my dad’s car key’s telling him what I was doing and left with Katie beside me in the passenger seat. We didn’t say anything at first but the closer we got to Matt’s, the more tense things seemed.
“I’m sorry,” Katie whispered. I turned down the radio, showing her that I was listening to her, “I’m so sorry Deanna. I promise you, I didn’t use you. I can’t use you like that,” She said and grabbed my hand. She held it tightly and wiped the free tears streaking her face, “It’s…I didn’t even know your brother before hand. Not really at least,” She said and I nodded, getting closer to Matt’s, “I lied Deanna,” She whispered. Now this really got my attention. I pulled over to the side of the rode and put the car in park and looked at my sister and finally just hugged her.
I missed her a lot and I didn’t want to be mad at her anymore. I knew that she was telling the truth, I didn’t want to shove that knowledge aside and be mad at her. She hugged me back and cried on my shoulder, “She’s dead,” She cried, “Johnny’s girlfriend died, and his son,”
She cried, I was shocked. I pulled away and looked at her, clasping her shoulders really confused. “What?” I asked. She sighed and sat back in her seat and looked out the window.
“It was last year, she was my best friend and her son…she looked just like Johnny. We thought it was funny that we had the same name, we were like sisters you know. She told me about Johnny and how stupid she felt. Sis, she was going to come today, with me to see your brother.” She shook her head and my heart dropped, “There was a fire,” She explained, “There was a gas leak inside and someone in the apartment complex had a cigarette and the building just…blew up after a while,” She said through tears, “They found her son in the rubble and he died on the way coming into the hospital. Kathleen, she was never found till days later holding a baby in her arms,” She cried, “She was trying to save the baby, she was just trying to help…” She cried. Again, I held my sister close to me and sat there shocked.
My brother…his family was gone. Katie was just trying to make him happy. This news would devastate him. It was bad enough he and Lucy were seeing different people at the moment and now Katie lied to him hiding horrible news about his family.
“You have to tell him,” I whispered rubbing her back.
“I’m scared,” she whispered, “And Matt…he doesn’t know about me and Johnny,” She whispered. I pulled away and sighed.
“It’s going to be a little rough sissy but look, Matt is smart and he will see it as you helping my brother and if you need help, Jimmy and I are jus a phone call away, were going to be Christmas shopping,” I said. She nodded and I smiled and kissed her forehead and took her to Matt’s and hugged her again.
“I love you,” She said hugging me tightly. I smiled and kissed her cheek.
“I love you too,” I smiled. She left and I saw her walk inside and drove back home knowing that it was going to be a rough Christmas.
