-Phoenix’s P.O.V-

I raced outside just in time to see Deanna speed away on her motorbike. I walked over to Simone and placed a hand on her shoulder. “What happened?” I asked.

Simone looked up and averted her gaze to me. “She just needs time to herself to process the information. You know what Deanna’s like.”

I nodded. “Yeah, I’m sure everything will be okay.”

Just as we were about to head back inside, Auden walked out of the house and headed towards her car. “Auden, where are you going?”

“I have to get home and start packing for my parents. I’ll see you guys later,” she muttered before climbing into her car and driving away.

I let out a sigh and groaned. “C’mon,” I murmured, wrapping an arm around Simone’s shoulders. “Let’s get back inside and work this band face off thingy out more.”

Simone nodded and followed me into the house.

As soon as we stepped foot into the lounge room, the guys and girls began bombarding us with questions regarding Deanna.

“Carson, she’s fine. She just needs time to process what happened. Johnny, she doesn’t hate you. Deanna’s the type of person that doesn’t hate anyone. Well, unless you do something to hurt her or the people she loves. Jimmy, breathe dude before you turn blue. She’ll be back soon,” I said, taking a seat next to Matt.

He wrapped an arm around my shoulders and pulled me close, pressing a kiss to my temple and interlacing our fingers together. I sat there with a smile on my face and thought about how awesome this tour was going to be…once we sorted out this shit with Jamie of course.

A few hours later we had all the details sorted out for the face off.

“Whoo, pizza’s here!” I yelled, when the doorbell rang.

I jumped up and raced to the door before yanking it open. My smile faded when I saw who it was. “What the fuck are you doing here? And how the fuck did you get this address?” I asked with a sneer.

He laughed. “Oh Phoenix, it’s nice to see you too I can over to tell you that this face off before our bands is so on, but I have something else I want to add to it.”

“Say it then Jamie, and then fuck off.”

Jamie laughed coldly and stared at me. “Now, now Phoenix, you don’t’ want the girls, especially Auden, to find out what happen at Ben’s party last year, do you?”

I let out a growl. “You fucking promised you wouldn’t bring that up ever again. It was a fucking mistake. I was drunk Jamie,”
He chuckled. “Keep telling yourself that Nix.”

-Matt’s P.O.V-

As we sat there talking and laughing, I noticed that Phoenix hadn’t come back yet. I got up from my spot on the sofa and left the lounge room. I heard voices coming from the front door. I followed the voices but stayed in the shadows. Phoenix was having a conversation with some guy and by the sound of it, it wasn’t a pleasant one.

The guy laughed coldly and stared at Phoenix. “Now, now Phoenix, you don’t’ want the girls, especially Auden, to find out what happen at Ben’s party last year, do you?”

She let out a growl. “You fucking promised you wouldn’t bring that up ever again. It was a fucking mistake. I was drunk Jamie,”

He chuckled. “Keep telling yourself that Nix.”

What the fuck did he mean by that?

I decided then it was time to step in. I stepped out from the shadows and walked over to Phoenix, wrapping a protective arm around her shoulders. “Can I help you with something?” I asked the guy with a clenched jaw, not liking the way he was staring at my girl.

Well she wasn’t my girl yet but she will be.

Phoenix cleared her throat and looked up at me. “Matty, this is Jamie. He’s the one that loves to control Auden’s life and not let her really do anything.”

Jamie held out a hand towards me and cleared his throat, obviously threated by me. I looked at his hand and raised an eyebrow. “I don’t like you. Why are you here?”

Jamie retracted his hand and cleared his throat. “I came here to let Phoenix and the girls know that Deanna came and seen me earlier today and told me about this face off she wants to do between our bands. My band and I have agreed to do it but I want to make the prize a little more interesting. If the girls win, I leave Auden alone, which I’m happy to do…but…if I win….the girls lose all contact with Auden and MY band goes on tour with Avenged Sevenfold.”

I let out a growl. “What make you fucking think we’d agree to that?” I hissed coldly.

Jamie threw his head and laughed. “You will.”

“Fine, we’ll talk about it with the rest of the bands and let you know our conclusion tomorrow.”

Jamie nodded. “It was a pleasure seeing you again Phoenix. You look better than ever.”

“Fuck off!” I growled, slamming the door in his face.

I removed my arm from Phoenix’s shoulders and pinched the bridge of my nose. “There’s no fucking way in hell you girls are losing to that. I will make sure of it,” I murmured.

“Matt…” she whispered, placing a hand on my arm.

I looked at her. “Nix what did he mean by you don’t want the girls to find out what happened last year?”

She closed her eyes and pulled her hand away from me.

I winced at the loss of touch and stared at her, waiting for an answer.

She shook her head. “No, I can’t tell you.”

“Why not? Don’t you trust me?”

She nodded. “Yes Matt, I do but I just can’t tell you what happened. Please just drop it.”

“Fine, whatever,” I muttered before turning on my heel.

Phoenix grabbed my hand just as I was about to leave the room and pulled me back. “Matt-”

I held up a hand. “Just don’t Nix. I need to think,” I murmured, removing her hand from mine, before turning on my heel again and this time succeeding in leaving the room.

-Phoenix’s P.O.V-

I watched as Matt walked away, thinking about what just happened. After that conversation, I think I may have just lost my chance with Matt and I couldn’t let that happen.

I was falling in love with him…

I ran a hand through my hair and walked in the direction Matt went in. I found him in the lounge room with the rest of the bands. I stood beside him and cleared my throat to gain everyone’s attention.

The gang stopped laughing and looked up at me and Matt; their smiles falling off their faces when they saw our expressions.

“What’s going on?” Jimmy asked with a worried expression. “Who was at the door?”

I looked at Matt before averting my gaze to the girls. “I’m not going to lie, you guys are going to hate this but please leave the questions until I’ve finished. It’s bad enough already.”

I took a deep breath and opened my month to speak again. “That was Jamie at the door. He came by to say that Deanna went and saw him earlier. Deanna told him about the face off and he’s agreed to do it. He told me and Matt that he’s happy to leave Auden alone if we win but if he wins…We lose all contact with Auden and his band goes on tour with Avenged Sevenfold.”
