Lips of Deceit

Two

"I'm back!" Rev shouted through the house as he slammed the front door shut. He heard a muffled argument as he walked past the kitchen. Just before he made it to the bottom of the stairs he heard Matt shout, "Come and meet Spencer." "I'm not in the fucking mood. I'll meet them tomorrow. Piss off Spencer you aren't welcome here." he shouted, as he stormed up the stairs, he heard Matt mutter an apology to Spencer. Rev had been laid face down on his bed for about half an hour, with his door locked before he finally heard someone knock on it. He didn't reply, he just laid there thinking about Lily. He was still angry for not being allowed to see her and annoyed that she wouldn't be getting a funeral. But he guessed he did get a small bit of satisfaction of seeing that even her own brother wasn't allowed to see her body either. It made sense though, there were a lot of people that would do anything to destroy what ever they could of hers. The knock at the door went again and he shouted at them not too politely to go away.  "I'll pick the lock." a female voice sounded from outside of the door.  He didn't reply and soon enough the door swung open and she was stood just inside the doorway. "Hi I'm Spencer." she said and he still laid facedown. "I know you don't want to talk to me, I've been told why. I thought it would be best if I did this now. I'm sorry for everything."  "You are not sorry at all. You don't know how it feels and you have no idea what Lily was really like." he said still not looking up. "Who said I was sorry about Lily? She was a complete prick anyway, I hope she's rotting in he'll." she paused but when she got no reaction she carried on,  "Just fucking look at me James Owen Sullivan." He looked up just as he began shouting, "How the hell do you even know my... Never mind i see what you are sorry for. Last time I checked you weren't supposed be here. In fact if I remember correctly..." "Shut up, I came to ask you a favour. Get these guys to tell me to leave. They won't take no as an answer." Spencer said keeping her voice low. "It will be my pleasure, in fact I will personally escort you home. Where abouts are you living?" he asked casually. "Lily's old house." He looked straight at Spencer in shock. He never thought he would see that house occupied again, "I know what you're thinking but you know how close me and her are. She left it to me in her will, so to speak." "You never cease to amaze me!" he said with a light laugh, just as Johnny walked in. "You knew Lily?" he directed his question at Spencer. "I sure do, I knew her all my life we're something like family." she said with a shrug, "Don't look at me like that. You don't choose your family you know." "I'm sorry but you are going to have to leave. I know it sounds rude but it's one of the rules we have. None of the Joel family no matter how much they don't want to be apart of it. Why don't you drive her home Jimmy?" It didn't take long until she was back home. Jimmy was sat going through the old memories that they shared and had seemed to forget the bad blood that ran between them. She was glad that Jimmy didn't seem to mind too much that she was back. They stood outside her front door talking for a little while longer, just as a few vans and a couple of cars turned up at the front gate. Jimmy looked at her quizzically but she walked off to let them in. Soon enough they had all pulled up to the front of the house and Jimmy realised the vans were bringing all her possessions to the house. The front door was unlocked and it quickly became a mass of people flowing in and out of the house. A couple of people in cars were talking to Spencer as she pointed down towards a garage and the four cars took off down there. Jimmy decided he was going to stick around a bit longer and help out with anything that needed his help. He found himself in Lily's old room. It was exactly the way he remembered it. The romantic master suite was enough to take anyone’s breath away. The ceiling had been painted by a French artist that Lily used to love so much. It was painted as if it were the sky with angels and cherubs flying round and floating on clouds. He could remember when she first got the house and she had invited him over. Her room was the place in her house that she could escape from gang life. It was her favourite place to be when she wasn't working. It used to be filled with antiques from all over the world and photos of her with the few people she cared about, Jimmy, her dad and another girl who he had never known anything about. Nothing was ever out of place and it was almost always occupied by her pure white cat, Charcoal, it would only be about three years old now. He heard footsteps and he turned to see one of Lily's old maids stood with Charcoal in her arms. The maid passed her over to him before leaving again silently. He pulled the sheet off, that had been placed on the bed to stop dust getting onto it, and put the cat on the blanket. She curled up in her usual spot.  Jimmy smiled at the cat, it seemed just like it used to be. But he knew it wasn't it could never go back to how it was before. Lily was gone and now Spencer was taking over her place a little at a time.
