I Killed Them

Stupid Chicks

Ellie

Brian had been making me feel awkward by brushing up against me and breathing down my neck. My heart would start beating every time he did something to make me feel uncomfortable, and for a second I thought he could hear it.

"Okay, what happened yesterday?" I asked, tossing a rag on the counter.

"W-what do you mean? he laughed.

"It's not funny. Obviously something happened and you're having a blast with it now."

"You seriously don't remember?" he asked, bending down to my height and putting his face right in front of mine. He held his head on his palm as he stared into my eyes.

"No, I don't."

"Well, we'll just have to keep it that way then."

"No! Just tell me, okay? I'm the chick who needs to know everything that's going on in her life and you're not helping me here."

"I'll tell you. But you have to work for it." he laughed.

"What?"

He tossed me a can of window cleaner and I looked over at the huge window/wall. I sighed and he winked at me. At this point I was annoyed since I'd have to be cleaning a big ass window at seven thirty. I tried to do it quickly but it would just come out wrong. So, eventually I started taking my time and the windows were clean.

I turned around to see Brian staring at me.

"What now?"

"You'll find out later."

"What? You said if I cleaned the windows you'd -,"

"That's not what I said. I said you'd have to work for it. All I did was toss you the window cleaner. You decided to go with your thoughts and I didn't intrude since that needed to be cleaned anyway."

"Come on, what do I have to do now?"

"Clean that glass on the storage shelf. And then I'll tell you."

"You promise?"

"I don't make promises, babe."

I didn't hesitate to hurry the hell up since I was desperate to find out what had come out of my stupid lips. Brian breathed down my back when I yelled that I was done and chills when up and down my arms. He winked at me once more, letting my believe he was proud of the job I had done.

"It's eleven already." I said, looking at the clock.

"Yeah, I guess we better close up."

"Wait! You said you'd tell me and now you wanna go home?"

"You tired me out last night."

"What?! Gosh, Brian come on!"

"Alright, I tell you what, you race me and I'll tell you tonight."

"I will tell you right now that I'm not a good runner. I wouldn't even try."

"That's not what I'm talking about." he stared. He walked away, leaving me clinging onto his own breath. I followed him to the front where he locked up the second shop. We made out way to the other side where the mechanical work was done and grabbed our jackets and belongings. I locked up as he walked to his car. Mine was parked right by his so I quickly ran towards him before he had a chance to leave.

"What?"

"What do you mean by 'race'?"

"You've never been in a race before?"

"Do you mean like car races? Illegal street races?"

"We're not betting, I don't see the harm."

"Yeah, but I want something from you."

"Come on, you race me, and I tell you everything, no matter how long it takes."

"O-okay, fine."

"Alright, we start at the first light and whoever gets to the fourth first wins."

"Okay." he walked to his car and I went back to mine, getting in and strapping myself to what would probably be a stupid idea. But at the time I didn't care what the hell happened, I just wanted to know what I had told Brian and why he had the smirk on his face every time he saw me.

I drove to the first light, as did he. He looked at me through his window and I held my hands firmly on the wheel. The light turned green and we raced. I felt a rush with every blink I took. I was nowhere near as good as he was, but my head was centered on winning. Three lights were passed and the fourth was coming up. I tried my hardest to pass him but it was all in vain.

I stopped my car and sighed angrily, hitting the wheel before me.

"Come on." he said, I followed him to a parking lot where he proceeded to get out of his car.

"What?" I sighed.

"You didn't win. I guess you don't get story time."

"Those weren't the rules. You said, 'Race me, and I'll tell you everything that happened. No matter how long it takes.'."

"You catch on fast, babe. Meet me at the address I'm going to text you in ten minutes. Don't be late or I'll leave." he winked at me again and walked into his car. My phone quickly vibrated and I looked at his text. It was one of the most dangerous streets in town. Basically because street racing was common and drunks were everywhere.

Wait, how the hell does he have my number? Thought of what might have happened seemed to frighten me. But I was ready to hear what the hell I had done.

Well, I can relate to Ellie in the fact that I don't drink, so I got pretty tipsy after having just one bottle of whatever I drank once. Fun, fun.

Again, quite interesting. =)
