Katie’s P.O.V.
I stood in the bathroom in my purple dress that hugged my body just right, putting on my make up and my hair looking nice. I was nervous on going to this date with Ryan but I was happy. I was going to be going out with a nice guy and he saved me and he was very, very good looking. His little brother was sweet and polite and was liking Ruby a lot.
I haven’t heard from Brian either and I couldn’t get him off of my mind either. I wanted to but I just couldn’t. He was nothing to me, he was using me, simple as that. I sighed, trying to get Brian out of my head. I didn’t need him and he obviously didn’t need me.
“You look beautiful sis,” Ruby said gently. I looked in the mirror and saw her leaning up against the door frame with a small smile on her face. Her arms across her chest and her eyes saying that she was kind of sad. I straightened, making sure everything was perfect, or at least as good as it was going to get.
“You alright baby girl?” I asked her gently and she nodded, moving out of my way so I could go to my bed and grab my purse.
“Yeah just…Jimmy hasn’t texted or anything since you came out of the hospital,” I said shrugging.
“Babe, it’s been a day,” I chuckled. She smiled lightly and shrugged. Something happened and she was heart broken. What happened? They were so happy together, didn’t Jimmy see that? Or did she do something?
“I know,” She said lightly and sat down on the foot of my bed, “I won’t keep you from your date,” She said. How can she say something like that? She wasn’t keeping me from my date and now that she’s like this, I didn’t want to leave. I came and sat down beside her and pulled her into a hug and kissed the top of her head.
“It’s going to be alright honey,” I said and held her close.
“Really? Cuss when he tells you that you were just friends and he’s getting married really freaking hurts,” She told me and started to cry. How can Jimmy do something like that? He played her, well at least that is what I thought. Making my poor sister think that he had feelings for one another and then do this to her.
“Shhh sissy, oh God I am so sorry,” I whispered and held her tightly. I didn’t want to go on this date, I can’t leave her alone. She was to precious to leave alone through a time like this.
“Hey,” I said straightening up, an idea just popping in my mind, “Maybe Rikki can go on the date with us!” I said happily. I saw how her and Rikki would look at one another but she shook her head.
“No sissy, this is your date, I can’t intrude. I’m alright,” She said and gave me that fake smile again. I sighed and kissed her temple. I didn’t want to leave her here, that seemed really harsh.
There was the door knock and my heart fell, it must have been Ryan. I kissed the top of Ruby’s head and left downstairs and gave a smile to Ryan, just wanting this date to end.
Brian’s P.O.V.
I was furious at my cousin. He was married! How can he do this to the poor girl? I had to do something, I needed to win Katie over. I can’t be holding back anymore. I was sick of not being with her. I was tired of being around Jimmy and Ruby and seeing them being in love or whatever, it just made me want to be with Katie even more. I didn’t want her hurt from my cousins stupid move.
I sighed and got on my leather jacket, Jimmy asking me what I was doing but I didn’t answer him. I just left out of the studio and got into my car, the only bad thing, I didn’t know where she lived.
“Man where are you going?” Jimmy asked coming out of the studio. I turned around to him and grabbed his shoulders and slammed him up against the brick wall of the studio.
“I am going to go and get my second chance with Katie and you are going to get Ruby back, understood?” I asked my friend. He looked at me like he was about to scream or something.
“I don’t know what your taking about,” He said shaking his head.
“Bull! You love Ruby, don’t you?” I asked him. There was a look of bewilderment in his eyes. He didn’t say anything but then again, seeing the look in his eyes, I knew that he was in love with her. He didn’t love Leana like he thought he did. He was in love with Ruby and now, he was going to have to tell Leana and Ruby, he was going to man up just like I am going to have to do and accept the fact that I was going to be a father and show Katie just how much I love her, to sweep her off her feet just like I have been wanting to do ever since I have met her.
“Fine!” Jimmy outburst. He took a deep breath and nodded, “Yes I love her. I … Brian I don’t know what to do,” He told me. I nodded, dropping my hands to my sides as he straightened his shirt.
“I don’t know either man, my cousin is trying to win her over or whatever and he’s married,” He pointed out, “Then I wanted to go over to her house but I don’t know where her or Ruby live,” I said plainly. Jimmy sighed as well, we were two men that were hopeless on finding our lovers.
“Wait,” Jimmy said, “She was going out with your cousin right?” He asked me. I nodded sadly, did he have to mention that? He smirked, “Call Rikki and ask him where they’re going,” He said, “We have a date to ruin,”

Katie’s P.O.V.
I was sitting with Ryan at the table of a small restaurant. I was feeling really nervous around him but then again, and I didn’t want to be with him. There was something about him that I didn’t like. I mean I know that he had saved me but what was he doing walking down the streets so late at night with his brother? I didn’t see anyone roaming the streets that late at night, it was scaring me to know that this guy was apart of a plan or something.
“So, do you do anything Katie?” Ryan asked me, his beautiful brown eyes looking at me. I have to admit this man had the looks but he also had this thing about him that made me scared.
“I am an assistant at a local music industry,” I told him. He smiled at me and took a bite of his food and I looked down at his fingers and gasped. My fork fell, clattering against the plate and I looked down and saw the wedding ring on his finger. I was appalled but this, why would he cheat on his wife? Or was I taking this the wrong way all together?
“I…I’ll be back,” I whispered. I quickly grabbed my purse and went to leave to the restroom and then quickly leave out of the restaurant. How can I be so stupid about this? I was so stupid to think that someone like him, someone as good looking like him would ever like someone like me. It didn’t make any sense. I sighed, looking up in the mirror at myself and gripped onto the sink.
“Your so stupid Katie,” I whispered to myself and shook my head. Now I had to leave out of here without him knowing it. I grabbed my purse and made my way out of the bathroom and came out into the entrance hall and was walking inside seeing Ryan on the phone with a smile on his face, his wedding ring twinkling in the light. I felt my stomach tighten, this was so wrong. Why didn’t I notice this before?
I looked over to the entrance that was next to Ryan, of course. How in the world can I sneak out without him knowing? I growled, stupid restaurant building. Maybe there was a back door. I smiled, that wasn’t such a bad Idea.
You Katie, are a freaking genius!
I smiled at myself and waited till Ryan turned to look out the window and quickly made my way to the back. I was trying to go through the kitchen but of course that wasn’t going to work. I was heading back but someone grabbed my arm roughly and brought me to the wall, just hiding us from the kitchen and from Ryan.
He spun me around and before I could see who it was, their lips crashed onto mine. My hands were on his chest to shove him away but I couldn’t. It was Brian, his soft lips on mine once again but there was that spark that came from him, lighting up to fireworks in my body. My hand came up to his cheek and I held him close to me. For some reason, everything I had thought left me, there was nothing left but this love Brian was showing me.
“What the hell?!” Ryan suddenly cried causing me and Brian to break apart. I turned from the corner and saw Jimmy dressed up as a waiter and Ryan standing there with food all over him and Jimmy trying so hard to hold in laughter. Ryan was looking up at him, his fists balled and Jimmy started to take a few steps back.
“Brian w-?” He grabbed my hand and moved me to the exit when another waiter found out that Jimmy didn’t work there. Ryan looked to us and saw Brian and was running after us.
“Run Katie!” He laughed, his hand in mine and we started to run out of the restaurant with Jimmy coming right behind us. Ryan was yelling and cussing us out and I couldn’t help but laugh. Ryan deserved what he was getting. He used me, even though we actually weren’t really sure if he did or not.
We hurried inside the car and Jimmy was yelling at Brian to hurry up and go and Brian was laughing so hard that the keys fell from his hands and Ryan was coming to the window and started to pound on the window demanding his cousin to come out.
Cousin? These two were related? I sat in the back seat and Brian came out of the front seat to see his cousin who was telling at him and slamming him against the car making me flinch.
“What’s your problem?!” Ryan yelled, his forearm against Brian’s throat.
“I wasn’t using her when I was married!” Brian yelled at Ryan. Ryan growled and punched Brian.
“I’m not the idiot who got her pregnant!” He said and Brian shoved him away.
“I just asked you to keep her safe!’ Brian yelled taking me by surprise. He wanted to keep me safe? He…he cared about me? “I was on tour so I asked you as a brother to f*cking watch for her so she wouldn’t get hurt! And here you are planning her rape and sh*t just to get in her pants when your married!” He yelled.
I was shocked. Did he just say this? Ryan didn’t look intimidated at all. He didn’t say anything. It was true…he did this to me? Ryan just looked at his cousin and walked away. Brian sighed and came inside and I was silent, wrapping my arms around my tummy not sure what to do.
Brian cared about me, he really cared about me. I looked at him and thought it over in my head, knowing that I was going to have to give him a second chance.
Brian’s P.O.V.
I came and dropped Jimmy off at his house and I looked back at Katie.
“Where do you need to go?” I asked her lightly.
“Where ever your going,” She said with this gentle smile that made my heart flip. So, I nodded and left to the beach. I went there to calm down and just to be by myself for a while to collect my thoughts. I can’t believe my cousin would do something like this. He was such an idiot for doing something like this. All I wanted was for Katie to be safe and here he was planning for her to get rapped, nearly killed and then he took her out on a date just to get into her pants himself.
“Thank you Brian,” I heard her say. Shocked, I looked in the rear view mirror.
“For what hun?” I asked her. We came to the beach and I turned off the ignition and we got out of the car and to my surprise, she grabbed my hand.
“You…I don’t really know Brian just…you care about me,” She said. I smiled at her and kissed the top of her hand. We didn’t say much to each other the rest of the day but we just walked to the beach and enjoyed one another’s company. She was with me, I think. We were holding hands and I just couldn’t believe that I had this girl back. I was man enough to except the fact that I was a father and in love with this girl.
When she stopped, I looked at her to see if she was alright, “Brian?” She asked.
“Yes baby?” I asked, not knowing why I called her that but it just felt so right to call her that. I missed her that’ was one and I felt so drawn to her. The kiss that we shared in the restaurant was the finishing of the spark that I had when I was drunk and loving her that night. After that I couldn’t get her out of my thoughts, out of my dreams. I was crazy for Katie.
“Um…why did you ask me out that day of the signing?” She asked me. I looked at her and grabbed her hands and looked at her in her beautiful blue eyes.
“Because I really liked you then, something over came me. Being the rockstar dick that I was over took me but when we came into that room just…something about you was clinging onto me you know? There was that spark and after that…I was a jerk and never left you a note. I thought I could just get over you but I can’t Katie. I just can’t. Then finding out I was a father made me scared but happy. I…I just-”
I didn’t saw anything when her lips crashed against mine. I kissed her back, pulling her close to me and kissing her with all of my love. I loved her. I know that I loved her. She pulled away leaving my lips lingering for more of her soft ones but her eyes held mine and she smiled at me.
“I want to give you a second chance,” She whispered to me, her fingers messing with my hair causing me to chuckle.
“I’d love that,” I whispered. I kissed Katie back with all of my love, knowing that there was nothing but a beautiful future ahead of us.
